OPEN TROPHIES Open Trophy Criteria 1. At least 2 scores must be obtained at Queensland competitions 2. The average of the highest 6 weighted official results over 60% at the trophy level will be counted. Scores for Young Horse awards will not be weighted. 3. The weightings to be used on all results to be counted towards Dressage Queensland Trophies shall be as follows: Competition Star Rating Weighting Official Day No star 1.00 Official Day 1 Star 1.02 Regional Championships 2 Star 1.04 State Championships (all Australian states) 3 Star 1.04 National Championships/CDIs 4 Star 1.04 4. No Interschool or participation scores will be eligible for Dressage Queensland Open Trophies 5. Scores from the Owner/Amateur and Youth Championships are not eligible 6. HC scores will not be considered 7. OPEN TROPHIES (cont) Dressage Queensland 4 Year Old Young Horse Champion and runner-up of the Year Qualifying period is from August 1 st of the preceding year to July 31 st of the award year Trophy is awarded to a Queensland combination that achieves the highest average percentage of their top 3 scores taken from any 4 year old Australian Young Horse competition Where the competition is run over two rounds to decide the place-getters, scores will be taken from both rounds Dressage Queensland 5 Year Old Young Horse Champion and runner-up of the Year Qualifying period is from August 1 st of the preceding year to July 31 st of the award year Trophy is awarded to a Queensland combination that achieves the highest average percentage of their top 3 scores taken from any 5 year old Australian Young Horse competition Where the competition is run over two rounds to decide the place-getters, scores will be taken from both rounds Dressage Queensland 6 Year Old Young Horse Champion and runner-up of the Year Qualifying period is from August 1 st of the preceding year to July 31 st of the award year Trophy is awarded to a Queensland combination that achieves the highest average percentage of their top 3 scores taken from any 6 year old Australian Young Horse competition Where the competition is run over two rounds to decide the place-getters, scores will be taken from both rounds Dianne Brown Memorial Champion Young Horse of the Year The winner of this award will be selected from the winners of the Queensland 4-, 5-, and 6-year-old Young Horses awards. The winner will be the horse that achieves the highest average percentage of their top 3 scores taken from any Australian Young Horse Competition. SELF NOMINATED OPEN TROPHIES Spin Memorial Newcomer Horse of the Year To be eligible, the horse must not have competed in official/competitive competition prior to the current competition year 6 results in total are required (scores are weighted): - At least 2 official/competitive preliminary results are required - 4 other official/competitive scores at any level will count for the balance - Scores from Young Horse classes will not be eligible - Scores from Young Rider and Owner/Amateur Championships will not be eligible - Scores from Interschool events will not be eligible - Scores from freestyles will not be eligible Faulkaneer Memorial Queensland bred FEI Horse of the Year The winner of this award goes to the best performed Queensland bred FEI horse (ie conceived and foaled down in Queensland can be bred by interstate or imported semen). Four results in total are required. Emphasis will be placed to horse competing at Grand Prix but PSG/Inter I and Inter A/Inter B scores will be considered Scores obtained in the Medium Tour (Inter A/Inter B) will accrue an additional weighting of 1.02 Scores obtained in the Big Tour (Inter II/Grand Prix/Grand Prix Special)will accrue an additional weighting of 1.04 Riders/Owners must apply for this award using the appropriate form on the DQ website by 31 st October. OPEN PONY TROPHIES Pony Trophy Criteria 1. Open to all riders on Ponies 2. At least 2 scores must be obtained at a Queensland competitions 3. The average of the highest 6 weighted official results over 60% at the trophy level will be counted. Scores for Young Pony awards will not be weighted 4. The weightings to be used on all results to be counted towards Dressage Queensland Trophies shall be as follows: Competition Star Weighting Weighting Official Day No star 1.00 Official Day 1 Star 1.02 Regional Championships 2 Star 1.04 State Open and Pony Championships (all Australian states) 3 Star 1.04 National Championships/Pony National Championships/CDIs 4 Star 1.04 5. SELF NOMINATED PONY TROPHIES Sommerlyne Lisa Newcomer Pony of the Year To be eligible, the pony must not have competed in official/competitive competition prior to the current competition year 6 results in total are required (Scores are weighted): - At least 2 official/competitive preliminary results are required - 4 other official/competitive scores at any level will count for the balance - Scores from Young Pony classes will not be eligible - Scores from Young Rider and Owner/Amateur Championships will not be eligible - Scores from Interschool events will not be eligible - Scores from Freestyles will not be eligible YOUNG RIDER TROPHIES Young Rider Trophy Criteria 1. (from the start of the calendar year they turn 8 years of age to the end of calendar year they turn 21 years of age) 6. HC scores will not be considered 7. Only the same combination (rider & horse) will count 8. Nunn Medium Young Rider of the Year Open to young rider combinations, having competed at Medium or CDI-J level in the current year As per YR Trophy Criteria above Equine Property Services Advanced Young Rider of the Year Open to young rider combinations, having competed at Advanced level in the current year As per YR Trophy Criteria above YOUNG RIDER TROPHIES (cont) Irene Bakels-Noreen Young Riders PSG/Inter 1 Trophy Open to YR combinations, having competed PSG/Inter I level in the current year Combinations do not have competed in both levels to be eligible CDI-Y scores are eligible As per Young Rider Trophy Criteria above SELF NOMINATED YOUNG RIDER TROPHIES The Diarmin Park Newcomer Young Rider of the Year This trophy is to encourage young riders to compete in official/competitive dressage competitions. This is a rider award for a young rider who is competing in official/competitive competitions for the first time in the award year It is awarded to the young rider obtaining the highest average percentage of 3 competitions at any level (scores not weighted) Rider has never competed in an official/competitive dressage competition in Australia or any other country before the current trophy year Any level can be ridden - Preliminary, Novice etc. Scores obtained in elementary will accrue an additional weighting of 1.02 Scores obtained in medium and above will accrue an additional weighting of 1.04 Scores from Young Rider State and National Championships are eligible Riders must be aged between 10-21 years old (from the start of the calendar year they turn 10 years of age to the end of calendar year they turn 21 years of age) Scores from Young Horse/Pony classes will not be eligible Scores from Interschool events will not be eligible Scores from Freestyles will not be eligible Document: 2016 Dressage Queensland Trophy Criteria Issue: 5 2-2016 Page 7 of 11

SELF NOMINATED SENIOR RIDER TROPHIES General Trophy Criteria 1. At least 2 scores must be obtained at Queensland competitions 2. Scores will not be weighted, unless specified 3. HC scores will not be considered 4. Riders must be over 21 years of age (ie have turned 22 years in the calendar year) 5. Open to riders on horses and ponies 6. Only the same combination (rider & horse) will be considered 7. Scores from Adult Amateur Owner Championships and Youth State/National Championships may be used The Lung Family Newcomer Rider of the Year This trophy is to encourage riders to compete in official/competitive dressage competitions. This is a rider award for a rider aged 21 years or older who is competing in official/competitive competitions for the first time in the award year It is awarded to the rider obtaining the highest average percentage of 3 competitions at any level Rider has never competed in an official dressage competition in Australia or any other country before the current trophy year Any level can be ridden - Preliminary, Novice etc. Scores from Young Horse/Pony classes will not be eligible Scores from Owner/Amateur Championships will be eligible Document: 2016 Dressage Queensland Trophy Criteria Issue: 5 2-2016 Page 8 of 11

SELF NOMINATED TROPHIES OPEN TO JUNIOR & SENIOR Dressage Queensland Pat Dale Memorial Trophy Open to a Queensland rider having competed at official/competitive Elementary level for the first time in the award year Eligible to all riders aged 8yo and over It is awarded to the rider obtaining the highest average percentage of 3 competitions at elementary (scores are not weighted) The Crisp Emerging FEI Rider Open to a Queensland rider having competed at competitive FEI level for the first time in the award year It is awarded to the rider obtaining the highest average percentage of 3 FEI competitions (scores are not weighted) Any open FEI level can be ridden, including CDI-Y and under 25 Inter II/Grand Prix Scores from CDI-P and CDI-J are not eligible, and also do not count as prior FEI competition (ie a rider may have competed previously in CDI-P and CDI-J classes and be eligible for this award in the future Scores from restricted classes, such as futurities, are not eligible, and also do not count as prior FEI competition (ie a rider may have competed previously in an FEI futurity class and be eligible for this award in the future Exhibition classes, such as the Sharon Doe Memorial Young Rider are not eligible, and also do not count as prior FEI competition (ie a rider may have competed previously in the Sharon Doe Memorial and be eligible for this award in the future Eligible to all riders aged 12yo and over SELECTORS PANEL CHOICE TROPHIES Dressage Queensland FEI Horse of the Year Open to Equestrian Queensland-registered combinations, having competed at FEI in the current year Focus placed upon Queensland representation at major interstate events and CDI results Open to Australian-based combinations only ELD Junior Young Rider Trophy Open to junior young riders aged between 8-15yrs inclusive The winner will be selected from the highest ranked junior riders in each competition level (eg prelim, novice, elementary etc) Sandale Saddlery and Stubben Saddle Senior Young Rider Trophy Open to senior young riders aged between 16-21yrs inclusive The winner will be selected from the highest ranked senior young riders in each competition level (eg prelim, novice, elementary etc) Document: 2016 Dressage Queensland Trophy Criteria Issue: 5 2-2016 Page 9 of 11

SPECIAL NOMINATED AWARDS Dressage Queensland Judy Mackay Award This award is to recognize a Queensland person, who has trained and competed, their own Australian-bred (ie conceived and foaled down in Australia can be bred by imported semen) horse/s from Preliminary/Novice level through to FEI successfully This person must also have made a significant contribution over a period of time to the sport as a volunteer. Have ridden, train and compete his/her own Australian-bred (ie conceived and foaled down in Australia can be bred by imported semen) horse throughout from beginning at Preliminary/Novice level to compete successfully at FEI ridden achievements can be historical (ie not currently competing that particular horse/s) The applicant s horse must be bred in Australia bred (ie conceived and foaled down in Australia can be bred by imported semen) and can be any breed Individual to have made a significant contribution to the sport of dressage as a volunteer Any work done for remuneration in the industry will not be considered in the trophy selection (including judging and coaching) 75% of emphasis to be placed on volunteer contributions, 25% on ridden achievements Decision will be made by an independent panel selected by DQ comprising of:- - A rider of any level - A judge of any level - Independent (e.g. member of EQ board/oc member etc) Individuals or Clubs/Organizing Committees must apply for this award using the appropriate form on the DQ website by 31 st October. Dressage Queensland Club of the Year Award This award will go to the club who has demonstrated an ability to encourage growth and development of dressage in Queensland Open to all Equestrian Queensland-affiliated clubs running dressage events Clubs must apply for this award using the appropriate form on the DQ website by 31 st October. APH True Seville Groom of the Year Award Grooms are that special people who underpin the success of our entire sport, ever present but rarely in the spotlight. This award seeks to highlight those grooms who really go above and beyond for their horses and riders. Open to all grooms supporting an Equestrian Queensland-registered competitive horse-and-rider combination/s Grooms do not need to be members of Equestrian Queensland to be eligible Applicants must apply for this award using the appropriate form on the DQ website by 31 st October. Owner of the Year Award This award recognizes the owner/s who have contributed to the success of dressage in Queensland by providing horses of the highest quality to riders within the sport of dressage. Owners, horse and rider/s must be registered with Equestrian Queensland Applicants must apply for this award using the appropriate form on the DQ website by 31 st October. Dressage Queensland Judges Sub-Committee Judge of the Year Award This award recognizes the service that judges give to the sport. F to C level judges with a minimum 3 years active experience Up to date with qualifications High availability to all Dressage competitions - Club Days, Associate and Official Consistency and relevance of marks Service to self-development and/or development of further judges Shows a desire and willingness to increase skill base and knowledge Approachability and willingness to communicate with the DQJSC, fellow judges and riders for self-analysis Must not be a committee member of Dressage Queensland, DQJSC or EQ board The recipient will be decided upon by the DQJSC Dressage Queensland Judges Sub-Committee Writer of the Year Award This award recognizes the service that writers give to the sport. Nominations to be provided to the DQJSC by accredited NOAS judges over the course of the year using the application form available on the DQ website under Resources for Judges The recipient will be decided upon by the DQJSC Festival of Dressage Volunteer of the Year Award Volunteers are the backbone of the sport and in recognition of this award Festival of Dressage would like to recognise and reward a volunteer, which in the Festival of Dressage committee's opinion, has made a significant time and effort contribution to the sport of dressage over the past 12 months Financial member of EQ Member of EQ Affiliated club Decision will be made by Festival of Dressage Committee after reviewing applicants and criteria Clubs/Organizing Committees President must apply for this award using the appropriate form on the DQ website by 31 st October.
