Winter / Spring Junior Tennis Starts January 9 th The Junior Development Program at Atlantic Beach Country Club is for children of all ages and skill levels. It is designed to provide players with the most enjoyable tennis experience, as well as the greatest opportunity to reach their full potential; with each level building on the skills developed at prior levels. Our programs use the USTA Quickstart format and use different size racquets and balls depending on the students age and ability. Please read the descriptions below to learn the skills and requirements for each phase of development. Tiny Shots (Red Ball) - Cost: $10 per class Tiny Shots is played on a 36 foot long court with racquets that are 23 or smaller and the balls are larger and softer. Tiny Shots Level 1 : Ages 3-4 Tuesday and Thursday 4-4:30pm Tiny Shots Level 1 is designed to introduce our juniors to tennis and work on the basics of developing his/her motor skills using fun, energetic games. Tiny Shots Level 2 : Ages 5-6 Tuesday and Thursday 4:30-5pm Our Tiny Shots Level 2 program will start to introduce more technique and strokes in our fun energetic program. Future Stars (Orange Ball) - Cost: $15 per class Ages 7-10 Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays 4-5pm Future stars work on knowledge and mechanics of forehand, backhands, volleys and serves so that players can engage in point and match play. The balls used are lower compression, the racquets are 23-25 inches and the court is 60 feet long. Grinders (Green Dot) - Cost: $22 per class Ages 8-12 Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays 5-6:30pm Grinders use rally based drills and games using all the strokes of tennis. Players in our Grinders group have the ability to rally and have a basic knowledge of point play. The balls used are green dot low compression, the racquets are 25-27 and the court is the full 78 feet long. Champs (Regular Ball) - Cost $22 per class Ages 11-16 Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays 5-6:30pm Our Champs group uses a disciplined, games-based approach to help players go further recreationally or competitively. Champs use a standard ball and play on a full 78 foot court.
M M s Tuesdays 4-5pm Cost: $17.00 This is for the beginner player who is new to tennis or is returning to the sport. Players receive instruction and practice on proper stroke technique, play live ball games and learn doubles match play skills all in a fun, workout type atmosphere. If you do not own a racquet don t worry! We will supply one for you. Join us starting January 9th at 4pm at the tennis courts.
