Ski Resort Regulations of the Fichtelberg Schwebebahn Kurort Oberwiesenthal FSB GmbH The Fichtelberg Schwebebahn Kurort Oberwiesenthal FSB GmbH issues hereby for one of the most important winter sports centre with an international character the following regulations: I. General regulations 1. These rules apply for the whole ski resort of Kurort Oberwiesenthal. These includes the ski resort itself with all ski slopes, cross-country-skiing tracks, hiking tracks, lifts and all other winter sport facilities. 2. These ski resort regulations are binding on all users, without any exception. User can be alpine Skiers, cross-country skiers, tobogganists, snowboarders, tour guides, hikers and other people who are staying at the ski resort or are actively involved in all winter sports. 3. In order to safeguard dangers that occur only during the sports operation, the instructions of the Fichtelberg Schwebebahn staff and other supervisory staff must always be followed promptly, irrespective of the following regulations. 4. For all users of the ski resort the following rules are binding and have to be followed without any exceptions: a. FIS Code of Conduct for Skiers and Snowboarders (Attachment 1) b. FIS Code of Conduct for Cross-Country Skiers (Attachment 2) c. DSV Tips for Chair Lift Users (Attachment 3) d. DSV Tips for drag lift drivers (Attachment 4) e. DSV Tips for behaviour towards snow-making vehicles (Attachment 5) 5. The downhill runs on the ski slopes are classified according to the following specifications and marked with signs. a. Marking of the slopes and the racetracks: i. Blue sign with No. of the ski slope easy track ii. Red sign with No. of the ski slope moderate track iii. Black sign with No. of the ski slope difficult track iv. Black sign with a white R race track

b. Markings of the cross-country-tracks and the ski- & winter hiking trails v. Orange Square with No. - ski hiking trails vi. Cross-country ski-mark with an direction arrow and kilometre indication - cross-country ski tracks vii. Green sign with yellow lettering - winter hiking trails The cross-country-ski tracks are divided in: Blue marking easy cross-country track Red marking moderate cross-country track Black marking difficult cross-country track c. Mandatory and indication signs i. Change of direction ii. General hazardous area iii. Crossing of streets, racetrack, ski lifts, etc. iv. Mountain rescue (Bergwacht) and point of accident assistance v. Piste/ ski slope closed vi. Marking of the slope's margin vii. Snow groomer and snowmobiles in use viii. Snow production machines in use ix. Snow groomer attached to an rope during preparation d. Safety zones for pedestrians (yellow - black - marking) Pedestrians are only allowed on the marked safety zone tracks. It is forbidden to drive on these paths. 6. Every user is only allowed to use the tracks and ski slopes which accord to his own skiing or sportive abilities and experiences. II. Specific regulations for the use of the toboggan run 1. The use of the toboggan run and the sledding hill takes place at the user's own risk. Everyone has to act during the tobogganing in such a way that no one else is injured or endangered. 2. The sledding hill and the toboggan run are only open for usage during the following opening hours: a. Sledding hill (Rodelhang) 09.00 am - 08.00 pm b. Toboggan run (Rodelstrecke) - 09.00 am - 05.00 pm c. Outside of the opening hours heavy machinery are on the tracks (snow groomers) to prepare the tracks.

3. The usage of the toboggan run or sledding hill is strictly forbidden for skiers and snowboarders. 4. For the tobogganing or sledding are only suitable bobs/ sport devices allowed. The toboggan run is only allowed to use with horn sleds (classic wooden sleds). Plastic bobs or other devices are not permitted on toboggan run. 5. Children under the age of 8 years are only allowed to use the toboggan run or sledding hill accompanied with a parent or a supervisor. 6. After finishing the run down please leave the track immediately. If you want to climb the sledding hill up again please keep far right or far left outside the marked sledding track. Do not walk on the toboggan track into the tobogganing direction. 7. Special care must be taken if the track is extra icy. 8. The removal and the intentionally running into the safety fences or the safety devices is strictly forbidden. Please note all signs along the toboggan track. 9. Along all prohibition signs is tobogganing not allowed. 10. If preparation work on the track is necessary during the opening times, the toboggan run or sledding hill will be is closed. 11. In the case of an infringement, no liability is accepted by the operator. III. Other rules of conduct 1. The tobogganing is only permitted on the marked sledding tracks/ tobogganing tracks. Bobsleighing and driving the ski area with car tires and similar objects is forbidden in the ski resort because of safety reasons. Exceptions can only be granted in connection with large events (e.g. ski-carnival). 2. The ski jumps are exclusively for competitive sporting purposes. The former Rennrodelbahn/ luge track is closed for all users of the ski resort. The racetracks can be temporarily closed for the public. 3. The construction and operation of lifts in the ski area is not permitted without the consent of the local supervisory authority (city administration). 4. Skiing during nightfall and at night is only permitted during the flood light night skiing events. During the flood light skiing, please only drive within the illuminated area.

5. Driving within the skiing area with motor sleds and other motorized vehicles (for example, quad bikes) is only permitted for preparation and control purposes as well as material transports carried out by the staff member and representative of the ski resort operator. The permission is also valid for members of the fire brigade and mountain rescue team for missions and rescue purposes. Special permits for driving within the ski area with motor sleds can be given, these must be applied for in writing to the operator. 6. Skiing school instructions has to be carried out on the ski slope in such a way that it does not interfere with the ongoing ski tourism. The operators of the ski schools have to agree with the conditions of the operator of the ski resort. IV. Nature conservation 1. Use only marked cross-country ski runs, trails and routes. Barriers must be strictly overserved. 2. It is forbidden to leave groomed tracks and to go deep snow skiing in the forest. These restrictions conduct to protect animals and prevent damage to young trees. 3. Please note all mandatory and indication signs and avoid all protect areas. 4. Do not feed any wild animals. 5. It is not permitted to carry pets during the ski sport with you. 6. Avoid noise as much as possible. V. Final provisions 1. The authorities responsible for the maintenance of order and security in ski resorts are authorized to act in case of misbehaviour. Their instructions must be followed immediately. The following people are entitled to these measures: a. responsible district managers of the forestry administration (Revierleiter der Forstverwaltung) b. companions of mountain rescue (Kameraden der Bergwacht) c. companions of SIS safety of skiing sport (Sicherheit im Skisport) d. employees of the local regulatory agency (Ordnungsamtes der Stadtverwaltung) e. employees of the FSB GmbH and LGO Liftgesellschaft mbh 2. In the case of infringements, misconduct or violations of the ski resort regulations might result in reference/dismissal of the ski resort. This applies especially in case that the safety of other skiers were seriously compromised.

3. The authorized forestry officers are entitled to inform the aerial cable car and foursome chairlift operators - FSB GmbH and LGO Liftgesellschaft mbh - about detected violations of persons with sports equipment, snowboards, toboggans, bicycles, etc. This also applies for the adjoining cross-country and downhill areas (such as forest or other areas).they are entitled to pass on the personal details and the ski pass number of the violators to the aerial cable car and foursome chairlift operators - FSB GmbH and LGO Liftgesellschaft mbh. Violations on the slopes and cross-country trails, as well as in the adjacent forest area, which have been proven and communicated to the aerial cable car and foursome chairlift operators - FSB GmbH and LGO Liftgesellschaft mbh, will lead to the exclusion of the transport of the persons concerned/ violators. In the event of a violation of the conditions of carriage/ ski resort regulations of the Fichtelberg Schwebebahn, each user/violator is obliged to specify his personal data to the authorities. 4. These ski area regulations come into force with immediate effect and replace the ski slope regulations of 16.10.2002. 5. The ski resort regulations are available at all facilities of the town administration of Kurort Oberwiesenthal and at all cash registers of all lift operators - LGO Liftgesellschaft mbh and FSB GmbH. 6. 7. VI. Attachments Attachment 1: FIS Code of Conduct for Skiers and Snowboarders Rule 1: Respect for others A skier or snowboarder must behave in such a way that he does not endanger or prejudice others. Rule 2: Control of speed and skiing or snowboarding A skier or snowboarder must move in control. He must adapt his speed and manner of skiing or snowboarding to his personal ability and to the prevailing conditions of terrain, snow and weather as well as to the density of traffic. Rule 3: Choice of route.a skier or snowboarder coming from behind must choose his route in such a way that he does not endanger skiers or snowboarders ahead. Rule 4: Overtaking A skier or snowboarder may overtake another skier or snowboarder above or below and to the right or to the left provided that he leaves enough space for the overtaken skier or snowboarder to make any voluntary or involuntary movement.

Rule 5: Entering, starting and moving upwards A skier or snowboarder entering a marked run, starting again after stopping or moving upwards on the slopes must look up and down the slopes that he can do so without endangering himself or others. Rule 6: Stopping on the piste Unless absolutely necessary, a skier or snowboarder must avoid stopping on the piste in narrow places or where visibility is restricted. After a fall in such a place, a skier or snowboarder must move clear of the piste as soon as possible. Rule 7: Climbing and descending on foot A skier or snowboarder either climbing or descending on foot must keep to the side of the piste. Rule 8: Respect for signs and markings A skier or snowboarder must respect all signs and markings.

Rule 9: Assistance At accidents, every skier or snowboarder is duty bound to assist. Rule 10: Identification Every skier or snowboarder and witness, whether a responsible party or not, must exchange names and addresses following an accident. Attachment 2: FIS Code of Conduct for Cross-Country Skiers Rule 1: Consideration for others Every piste user must behave in a manner that does not harm or endanger others at all times. Rule 2: Observing the signs and direction of travel Every piste user must follow the markings and signposts. On cross-country ski runs, please follow advised directions.

Rule 3: Choice of lane On double or multiple tracks, skiing is allowed in all tracks. Rule 4: Overtaking You may overtake from the right or the left. The skier in front does not have to vacate the track for overtaking. Rule 5: Opposing traffic If encountering oncoming traffic, each party has to give way to the right. On downhill runs with only one track the ascending skier has to give way to the downhill skier. Rule 6: Using your ski poles Keep your ski poles close to your body when overtaking, being overtaken or on encounters.

Rule 7: Controlling speed and manner of skiing depending on conditions Every piste user must adapt their speed and style of skiing to their ability as well as weather and terrain conditions. You should always keep sufficient distance from the piste user in front of you. Rule 8: Keep cross-country ski track clear Step out of the track if you are stopping. A piste user who has fallen must vacate the trail as quickly as possible. Rule 9: Conduct in accident cases Everyone is obliged to render assistance in case of an accident. Rule 10: Disclosure in cases of accident Reporting the accident. Everyone must disclose their personal details in case of an accident, regardless of whether or not they are responsible, a witness or directly involved.

Attachment 3: DSV Tips for Chair Lift Users DSV tips serve to protect all slope users. When in doubt, however, you should follow instructions issued by the lift operators. Anyone travelling with children should help them to observe and uphold DSV tips and instructions issues by staff. 1. Queuing Please queue in an orderly manner and do not push. Do not leave any access points empty, as this could cause unnecessary waiting time. Snowboarders should remove their back binding. 2. Boarding Go directly to the boarding area and hold your poles in one hand. Keep looking back and watch the approaching chair. Pre-school children may only use the chair lift with an adult present. No more than two children may sit together. Once you are on the chair, the safety bar will automatically close. Let your skis hang and keep still to make sure your bindings don t become loose during the ride. 3. During the Ride Please sit still, keep your skis pointed forwards and don t rock the chair. Do not alight before the exit. Anyone alighting prematurely is endangering themselves and others. Smoking and throwing objects from the chair lift are strictly forbidden for safety and environmental reasons

4. Interruptions Keep calm, and make sure your fellow travellers are calm, even in the case of an extended interruption. Wait for information; never take the situation into your own hands. Jumping down is incredibly dangerous, as the distance from the ground is always greater than it seems. 5. Before Alighting Prepare for alighting in good time. The safety bar will raise automatically at the mountain station. Lift up your skis before arrival. 6. Alighting Alight from the stipulated side, and leave the alighting area immediately. Lingering here endangers yourself and others.

Attachment 4: DSV Tips for drag lift drivers DSV tips serve to protect all slope users. When in doubt, however, you should follow instructions issued by the lift operators. Anyone travelling with children should help them to observe and uphold DSV tips and instructions issues by staff. 1. Queuing Please queue in an orderly manner and do not push. Stay standing up, leaning gently against the pole, and allow yourself to be pulled along. Snowboarders should rest their free foot between their bindings.

4. During the Trip Keep your balance. If riding a double bar lift, do not lean outwards or on your travelling partner. 5. No Experimentation Stay on the lift route and do not attempt to slalom. Never alight prematurely, or you will endanger yourself and others. 6. How to Behave after a Fall Alight immediately to the stipulated side. Let go of the pole in the direction of travel. Launching it off to one side endangers others. 7. Before Alighting Prepare for alighting in good time. Make sure that your clothing is not caught on the lift.

Attachment 5: DSV Tips for behaviour towards snowmaking vehicles 1. The Slope User s Own Responsibility The slope user must acknowledge that they may come across snow groomers at any time during ski times. When choosing a slope, the slope user should always remember that the machines often travel uphill, are difficult to manoeuvre and that the driver often does not have a complete view of their surrounding

2. Keep Your Distance Whether it s stationary or moving, slope users should never get too close to a snow groomer. You must always be aware that it may suddenly change course, stop or start to move backwards. You should, therefore, always keep to the safety distances of 15 metres at the front and back and 3 metres at the sides. 3. Don t Follow! Snow groomers movements are unpredictable. Following them is extremely dangerous 4. Not Always Visible Snow groomers must also work in narrow points and in areas with low visibility. They often travel upslope. You should always be aware that they could pop up at any time. The slope user must, therefore, always be aware and refrain from jumping. 5. Snow Groomers Right of Way Always allow snow groomers right of way, and let them pass first. The slope user must always leave a safe distance until the machine has passed. This especially applies in narrow areas.

6. Danger of Slipping on Steep Slopes The snow groomer may start to slip on steep slopes. Any slope users below the machine should keep watch, leave plenty of room and leave their work area as quickly as possible. Never cross above a snow groomer on a steep slope. You run the risk of slipping into the machine. 7. Make Yourself Visible If a slope user cannot avoid a snow groomer (fall, faulty equipment or similar), they must try to make themselves visible to the driver. If necessary, other slope users should also warn the driver. 8. Hazards on Closed Slopes Outside skiing times and on closed slopes, we carry out maintenance work whereby the machines are attached to steel cables of over 1,000 metres long.
