Warm-Ups from 7:00-7:50am. Positive Check-In closes at 7:20am. Coaches Meeting will begin at 7:45am. Meet starts at 8:00am. OLSA reserves the right to change start time of morning session, based on entries and timeline. Confirmed start time will be emailed to participating teams. Warm-Ups will not begin before noon. Positive Check-In closes 45 minutes before the meet begins. Coaches Meeting will begin 15 minutes before the start of the meet. Meet starts 1 hour after warm-ups begin. Oak Lawn Community High School 9400 SW Hwy Oak Lawn, IL 60453 Six lane, 25 yard pool. Permanent starting blocks are used. The pool is 14 feet deep at the starting end and 3.5 feet deep at the shallow end. 25 yard events start in the water on the shallow end. IST Timing System with Daktronics six lane scoreboard will be used with HyTek software to run the meet. All current USA Swimming and ISI Rules and Regulations apply. ISI and USA Swimming safety rules will be strictly enforced. All events are timed finals. USA Swimming registered swimmers are eligible. All swimmers must be registered prior to entry deadlines. Entries listed as Registration Applied For will not be accepted. Registration forms can be obtained from the Illinois swimming office, 1400 E Touhy Ave., Suite 410, Des Plaines, IL 60018, phone 847-824-1596, fax 847-824-1726. A swimmer s age as of November 19, 2017 will determine their age for the meet. Swimmers 18 years and under are eligible to swim in this meet. USA Swimming, Inc. Membership: Insurance regulations require that all swimmers, coaches, judges, starters and referees are current members of USA Swimming. It is each club s responsibility to register their swimmers, coaches and officials. Swimmers, coaches and officials that are not current members of USA Swimming, may not participate in the meet or be on deck. 1
Coaches: Entry Deadline: Entries: All coaches must be currently registered with USA Swimming and must provide proof of current registration at all sessions of this meet. Coaches will be required to sign in. All certifications must be current to be on deck. The Entry Chairperson will accept entries on October 27, 2017 at 8am. Entries should be sent to swim@olsalightning.org. Please be sure to sign the signature waiver if using overnight mail. No hand delivered or deck entries will be accepted. Any interested unattached swimmers should contact Entry Chair (listed above). Entries must be received by 5pm on November 10, 2017. All entries will comply with current USA Swimming and ISI Rules and regulations. Current registration number, age, first name, middle initial and last name must appear on all entries. Hy-Tek Meet Manager 4.0 will be used. Team entries must be submitted by email to swim@olsalightning.org. All Hy-Tek entries must be accompanied by a hard copy print out of your zip entry data file. Entries must be submitted for short course yards. A signed Summary Fee / Release Form provided in this packet and payment in full must accompany all entries. Checks are to be made payable to: OLSA Lightning Inc. The signed Summary Fee / Release Form and entry check must be received within 72 hours of the receipt of the email. Meet host will accept no responsibility for transmission errors of emailed entries. It will remain up to the sender to verify receipt of entries. Entry Fees: Entry Limitations: Entry Verification: Racing Starts Accommodations: Positive Check-In: $4.00 per individual event; $8.00 for relay events; $2.00 per swimmer fee. Deck entries may not be permitted. Swimmers may enter up to four events plus two relays; swimmers must be in at least one individual event to be in a relay. If you desire written verification of entries received, include a self-addressed stamped postcard with your entries. Any swimmer entered in the meet, unaccompanied by a USA Swimming member coach, must be certified by a USA Swimming member coach as being proficient in performing a racing start or must start each race from within the water. It is the responsibility of the swimmer or the swimmer s legal guardian to ensure compliance with this requirement. In accordance with USA Swimming Rules; Article 105 and 202.1.13 the Meet Referee has the authority to accommodate swimmers with disabilities. It is the responsibility of the coaches or swimmers to contact the Meet Referee, prior to competition, with specific requests. Positive Check-In is mandatory. If swimmers do not check-in they will be scratched from the meet. Swimmers that have been scratched may present themselves to the administrative table, at whose discretion, the swimmer may be re-entered into available lanes. No refunds will be given. 2
Bullpen: Seeding: Awards: A bullpen may be used for each session. All events will be timed finals from slowest to fastest. Short Course Yards should be submitted for entry purposes. High Point Trophies will be awarded to the top three places winners in each age group and gender. o Any points earned are counted toward Event Age and not swimmer s age. (i.e., if an 8 year old swims up in a 9-10 event, points earned are counted as the 9-10 age event, not swimmers age). Ribbons will be awarded to the first 10 places for each individual event and top 3 places for Relays. No team awards will be given. Scoring: Individual Events: 16-13-12-11-10-9-7-5-4-3-2-1 Relay Events: No scoring will be applied to relays. Admission: Meet Programs: Concessions: No Smoking: Meet Results: Timers/Officials: $5 admission per person for all spectators 12 years old and older. Limited Adults-Only section may be available with wristband entry. Meet Programs with Heat Sheets will be available at the door for $4. Swimmer Message/Ad Space is available. Contact swim@olsalightning.org by Nov 5th. Will be available for purchase. Smoking is not permitted anywhere on school property in accordance with state law. This includes the school s parking lot and grounds. Results will be emailed to participating teams and also posted on the OLSA Lightning website www.olsalightning.org. All teams with a minimum of five swimmers in a session are asked to submit the name of a team contact and may be required to supply two timers per session. Additional Officials able to volunteer at this event would be greatly appreciated. Those Officials willing to serve are encouraged to contact the meet referee. We welcome Officials in training and will make an effort to assist in your training. Please indicate names and certification levels of persons willing to officiate on the team entry form. Changing Areas: USA Swimming, Rule 202.3.4 Use of audio or visual recording devices, including a cell phone, is not permitted in any changing areas, rest rooms or locker rooms. Except where venue facilities require otherwise, changing into or out of swimsuits other than in locker rooms or other designated areas is not appropriate and is prohibited. Operation of a drone, or any other flying apparatus, is prohibited over the venue (pools, athlete/coach areas, spectator areas and open ceiling locker rooms) any time athletes, coaches, officials and/or spectators are present. 3
