Volume 7, Issue 9 Sept 2004 Director s Message Many thanks to everyone who attended last month's barbeque at my house. Due to the generosity of the club members, there was plenty of great food to go around. Over the course of the evening, about twenty Buick-related people passed through my gates. The street looked like a car show! If anyone else would like to host a barbeque at their home, please let me know. I would like to hold another party in the next month or two, so keep an eye on the newsletter! Editor s Comments Hello all. I hope all has been well with you and your family. I do not have many Buick stories this month. There is one where I found a 69 Wildcat Convertible for sale. Here is a picture if anyone is interested. It seems whole but definitely needs a complete going through. In addition to the barbeque last month, an elite group of members had the once in a lifetime chance to operate a simulator at Flight Safety. Unfortunately, the event announcement did not make the newsletter deadline, so only those fortunate folks at the last general meeting were in the know. It was a great event nonetheless, and we all hope to be invited back to Flight Safety in the near future. This month's outing will be the Little Anthony's Car Show on September 18th. We will meet there for Dinner at 5:30 pm. For those of you that may be new to town, Little Anthony's is located on the south west corner of Broadway and Kolb. Tuesday's general meeting will tie up all the loose ends for the upcoming All Buick show, so please be sure to attend. Absent members may be assigned to the notorious kissing booth. Finally, don't forget about Run to the Pines in Pinetop on September 24-26. It's a great opportunity to test out your new carburetor in the thin, mountain air! I'll see y'all at the meeting!! -Alex "Guzzling gas with class" Ahh.. more projects. Just what the wife ordered. I am still trying to get a hold of the owner but have been unsuccessful. More news on that as it comes. Last month we had the opportunity to go down to Tucson Flight Safety. Fellow member Howard R. and his coworker Mike volunteered their time and energy to lets us ride in $10 million video games. It was so realistic it was amazing. I can understand why some people get airsick on some of those simulators. Next months outing will be at the Phoenix Chapter s annual show. It is on Halloween but it ends early to get back and take the kiddies trick-or-treating. I am hoping we can show some support and make a good showing at the show. Our show is coming along just fine. By the time you get this I will have sent almost 400 entries to fellow BCA members. Come to the meeting to find out more. Take care. Pete. Volume 7 Issue 9 - Sept 04 FIREBALL 1
