But it was so worth it! The Alps are beautiful and our pictures and videos won t ever do justice to what we saw! Many of us took side trips to Innsbruck and the Swarovski Crystal Museum, as well as the Aqua Dome. And our final day in Lucerne, Switzerland was truly enjoyed by all. Many thanks to Bob Sloan for arranging the trip and putting up with 50 of us! Bus rides and flights went off without a hitch! Looks like our local skiing areas are closed for the season, but we still have one more big event to celebrate, and that is our Finger Lakes Ski Club Annual Banquet. This year it is at the Springside Inn on Saturday April 16 th. Cash bar at 6pm and dinner at 7pm; $30 per person. Please let Paulette LeFever or Midge Fricano know if you are coming. Hope to see you all there! Come out and support your Club! ~ FLSC President Dan Cannucciari Board Business Your FLSC board meets at 6:30pm on the first Tuesday of every month except July. Fifty intrepid adventurers set off from Newark on March 11 for an amazing ski trip of a lifetime! After 8 hours in the air, we landed in Zurich, Switzerland, loaded the bus, and drove another four hours through the Alps to Solden, Austria. Our Hotel Tyrol was a great destination right in the center of the village and just two (free) bus stops from either gondola. Breakfast and dinner were included each day, and they had a wonderful chef! We booked four mountain guides for the first day out skiing, breaking into small groups of about 6-8. This was an excellent way to explore the mountains safely and get our bearings. In addition to some fabulous skiing on glaciers and incredible alpine views, some side trips included Innsbruck, Salzburg, and the Aqua Dome thermal spa. On Saturday, March 19, we loaded up again and made our way to Lake Lucerne, Switzerland with a brief stop in Liechtenstein en route. We enjoyed 22 hours in beautiful Luzern, exploring the Allstadt (old town), the wooden Chapel Bridge, and the Dying Lion monument. Our nine hour flight home was uneventful, and the bus from Newark pulled in to Emerson Park in Auburn at 3:30 am Monday morning. Even with a couple of injuries, it was a great trip! Special thanks to Bob Sloan for being our fearless leader! We re headed to Big Sky, Montana next year, and possibly another Europe trip in 2018. See some pictures below and on the FLSC website! 3
