Gentlemen, Every year the Golf Committee and professional staff are looking for ways to improve the Men s Member-Guest tournament based upon member feedback as well as ways to offer a competitive and memorable golf experience for everyone. On behalf of the Tournament Committee it is our pleasure to advance you the entry form for the 2012 golf tournament. Some highlights for this year s event are listed below: Optional Practice Round on Wednesday, October 10 th Thursday night s party will be a Stag Night at Long Point Flights will be made up of four two-man teams With flights of four there will be a Re-Match with each of your opponents There will be more flights and more flight winners The Championship Celebration will be at the Ocean Clubhouse on Saturday, October 13 th, and will include spouses/ guests A portion of the Food and Beverage costs for this event will count towards your yearly minimum The official sign up date begins July 18 th for Full Golf Members. We will be conducting a complete TaylorMade /Adidas Golf Experience on Thursday afternoon at Long Point!!!! As always, we look forward to a fun and exciting extended weekend of golf that will offer something for everyone. Entry Attached is your invitation to the 2012 Amelia Island Club Men s Member- Guest tournament. To register, please complete the attached entry form and return it to the Long Point Golf Shop. Entry fee per team is $850 Full Golf / $950 all other membership categories, which will be charged to your membership account. A portion of your entry fee will count towards your annual Food and Beverage minimum. Entries will be accepted beginning July 18 th under the following criteria. The field will be limited to the first 52 teams entered. July 18 th July 24 th : Full Golf Members July 25 th July 31 st : Social Members who have played in the previous two years August 1 st : All other members Each member must turn in a completed entry form at the time of the entry. No entry will be accepted unless completely filled out. Tournament Format This year s event will be a Net Best Ball of Two Match Play event. Each team will play six nine-hole matches against all teams within their flight. Teams will be assigned to 13 flights of four teams each. The assignment of flights will be determined by the total handicap index of the team. Maximum handicap allowed will be 36. All players must have a current USGA Handicap (scores posted within the last six months). Handicap indexes will be verified in advance for all players. The Tournament Committee reserves the right to adjust handicaps based on exceptional tournament performance during the event. Each hole won is worth one point, with a half point going to each team in a tie. Flight winners will be the team with the most points won. Each match will be worth a maximum of nine points. A maximum of five points will be won in the event of an opponent s team forfeit. Team Handicaps Each player may carry a 36 handicap maximum based on the tee that each player will choose. For the tournament each player may choose either the BLUE tees (6074 yards) or the WHITE tees ( 5478 yards), and once this tee selection is made the player must play from this tee for the remainder of the golf tournament. Both players DO NOT have to play from the same tee. Individual handicaps (on the same team) that differ by more than 10 strokes will be adjusted downward by 10 percent for the golf tournament.
