Hopefully the weather will warm up and we will be back on the course shortly. We are moving forward with the joint venture of Lake View C.C. and Lake View Development. Lake View Development has asked for a seven (7) person Board. Lake View Development will have four (4) appointed seats and Lake View Country Club members will have three (3) elected seats. Currently we have five (5) elected Lake View Country Club Board members in place. The five (5) members have decided not to ask two (2) members of the current Board to step down. We discussed the issue and then voted to have an election in the spring to fill all of the three (3) Lake View Country Club Board seats. One member would be elected to a one year term, one member would be elected to a two year and one member would be elected to a three year term. In the future one member would be elected each year. Any or all of the current Board members are eligible for election if they so desire. Anyone wishing to run may contact me or the club. See this newsletter for further details on all of the month s activities. Please feel free to send your questions, comments or concerns to me at greg.farrell@ppi-erie.com Happy Easter! Regards, Greg If you are not receiving the email blasts that are sent out or you would like to add or delete an email address from this list please send an email to bradklomp@aol.com indicating your request.

Lake View Country Club PO BOX 468 NORTH EAST, PA 16428 Office: 814/725-9644 Pro Shop: 814/725-9561 Fax: 814/725-3256 INFORMATION LETTER FROM LAKE VIEW DEVELOPMENT Hello everyone. My name is James Weinheimer and I m the newly appointed director to the Lake View Country Club board of Directors, replacing outgoing Director, Joseph Walsh. I would like to acknowledge Joe s diligence and devotion to making Lake View a better place and wish him all the best as he embarks upon his candidacy for Judge in Erie County. I have been asked to coordinate activities regarding the recently announced joint venture between Lake View Country Club and Lake View Developments Corp. and to report on its progress. We remain in the early stages of planning but I think it s important to identify or reiterate the reasons for this endeavor. First, we intend to remain a private country club to preserve the status and privileges of those that support the facility. Second, we are committed to providing the stability and continuity to the staff employed by Lake View. We understand how important the commitment is to both employees and members. Third, we are aware that capital investment in equipment, structures, and improvements cannot be ignored indefinitely. Resources must be made available for this purpose. And last, we acknowledge that economic hardship, seasonal limitations for golf, and alternative recreational activities have reduced discretionary dollars available. Nonetheless, we have committed to and are steadfast in our resolve to not increase dues or impose assessments for calendar year 2013. Furthermore, to accomplish these tasks, a joint operating board is being established to provide oversight to all house and golf course operations. The bylaws of LVCC will need to be amended and agreed upon by the general membership at a meeting to be held sometime in April. The membership will elect representatives to serve on the board and committees will be appointed to provide direction and administration for a variety of activities. Your cooperation and participation in this strategy will become increasingly important, as we would like the transition to be virtually seamless. With the exception of the liquor license, all assets and liabilities will become the responsibility of LVDC. This should provide enhanced financing flexibility and permit the most strategic and efficient use of available resources. The joint board will monitor operational activities, but daily activities will continue to be the responsibility of the General Manager. I will continue to be transparent and forthcoming with information as events unfold. I encourage your comments or criticisms and will entertain any thoughts or ideas that might advance our mission. Let us continue to make this place second to none. Respectfully Submitted, James Weinheimer 2

From the Pro Shop Steve Crane, Golf Professional When are we going to open? As soon as possible and Gordon says the course is ready. As a guideline the last three years we teed it up on March 16, 2012, April 2, 2011 and March 18, 2010. It is not far away. The staff remains intact Joe Alonge, Kyle Meehl, and Rick Schriefer will assist in the pro shop. Rick will be graduating in May from Golf Management School in Orlando. He will then be seeking his PGA card. The 2013 Tentative Calendar is posted on the website: lakeviewcc.com The PGA Show again offered many new and interesting items. For one, every major company now has an adjustable driver. I will tell you, they work. By changing the adjustment, you will change your ball flight. Demo day is Wednesday, May 22. Pro shop demos will arrive in early April. all your life? Yes. If you just roll the ball with your hand would you make it? Yes. Did you worry about your stroke when you were putting well? No. Well then stop it. Relax, pick out your line, visualize your putt, think about the hole and knock it in! If you remember, Darren Clark won that British Open and had a smile on his face the entire tournament. Relax and enjoy the game. Have confidence in what you can do and you will probably do it. HANDICAP TIPS: All rounds that are played at away golf courses and are considered in season for that area, should be posted upon your return. You will need the course rating and slope to post the score. Note: If a player s USGA handicap index increases by three or more strokes due to the posting of numerous away scores, and subsequent scores at his club clearly indicate that his increased USGA handicap index is too high, the Handicap Committee should adjust his index downward. TITLEIST REWARD PROGRAM: Titleist is again offering the Pro V1 and Pro Vx special. Golfers that purchase three or more dozen golf balls will receive one dozen at no charge. Price is $48 per dozen, $144 total. All golf balls must be personalized. Option #1: Play numbers available: Low (1-4), high (5-8), or all the same number (1-9). Option #2: Double Digit Numbers (00, 10-99). $3 per dozen upcharge fee applies. ORDERS MUST BE PLACED BY APRIL 14, 2013 TIP OF THE MONTH: While at the PGA Show I attended a seminar hosted by Dr. Bob Rotella. He is the author of several books including Golf is not a Game of Perfect. He told a story about Darren Clark before he won the British Open. Darren was down on himself and not having any fun because he could not make any short putts. Rotella asked Darren what the problem is. Darren s response was that he worries he is going to miss so he tries to concentrate on his stroke to make sure everything is right. Rotella says: Haven t you made these putts RULES QUESTION What is the proper way to mark your ball? ANSWER: The position of the ball to be lifted should be marked by placing a ball-marker, small coin, or other similar object immediately behind the ball. If the ball interferes with the play, stance or stroke of another player, it should be moved one or more clubhead lengths to the side. Per decision 20-1/16: Although it is not recommended, you may mark with a tee, loose impediment, or placing the toe of a club at the side or behind the ball. The method of moving your marker can also be done several ways as long as you repeat the method in reverse order when replacing your ball. The important thing is to put the ball back in its original position. 5

The Driving Range will be open for practice as soon after April 1 as possible. Determining factors will be the weather and the softness of the turf. Club Storage is available. You can pay in the pro shop or charge it to your Lake View account. The fee for 2013 is $85 ($80.19+$4.81 sales tax), add a pull cart, $110, pull cart alone $35. Service includes club cleaning after every round. Lockers are available, $75 fee for the year. See Steve or Joe. GRIP SPECIAL Get your season off to a good start with new grips. You can save $1.00 per grip during the month of April. Grip prices range from $6-$10. If we can be of any service before the season begins, you can call the pro shop, 725-9561, or Steve s cell, 397-4280. PRO AM COMMITTEE The committee for the Lake View Charity Pro Am will be meeting in early April to determine the charities for the 2013 tournament. If you have a deserving charity that you would like to have considered, a proposal should be submitted to Steve Crane before April 1. The tournament date is Friday, June 7. A reminder that all members of Lake View are invited to participate in the Pro Am. Please let Steve know if you are interested in sponsoring and/or playing. 6
