Welcome This is the information bulletin of the Veluwe 2 Days. Argus Orienteering Club welcomes all participants, crew and spectators at this sport event. The races are on the extensive sand dunes of Kootwijkerzand and in the beautiful Roekel Forest this year. The Wageningen Night Sprint Relay will be the warming up race on Friday in downtown Wageningen. This multiday orienteering event has meanwhile become a yearly tradition in the Netherlands in het last weekend of October. We are glad to welcome about 300 participants from 11 different countries. General Rented SI badges The rented SI badges must be returned on the last day immediately after the reading of the time on Sunday 29 October. If you will not start on Sunday, you have to return the SI badge on an earlier moment at the event secretary. Start times Start times will be published one week in advance on argus.nolb.nl and will be shown near the start on the day of the event. Children in the W-10/M-10 and W/M-10 guided classes have free start times. Results The race results will be shown on a information panel and will be published online as soon as possible. The general classification will be based on the two races. The sprint relay on Friday is a separate race. Childcare There is no childcare during the event. Children Race Children can participate for free in a string course on Saturday and Sunday. Pre-entry is not necessary. You will find us at the Competition Centre. Parking Follow the instructions of the traffic controllers during parking. Control descriptions Control description lists will be available at the start on Saturday and Sunday. Control descriptions for the sprint relay will be shown on the map. Start procedure Your name will be called 3 minutes before your start (The start clock will show the start time of the runner on the start list.) Name and SI number will be controlled. Late start Participants who are too late for their start, must report this to the start official. They can start on his sign in a separate runway. Finish Time registration should be done immediately after finishing at the event secretary. If you do not complete your race, you have to sign out at the time registration. Catering There will be catering facilities every day. Day entry There is no day entry. Safety Participation is at the runner s own risk. Day 0 - Wageningen Friday 27 October Schedule 18:30 - Competition Centre open 19:45 - Briefing 20:00 - Mass start 21:30 - Award ceremony Competition Centre The competition centre on the event location opens on 18:30. Upon registration at the event office on Friday, you will receive a bib number and (if ordered) a rented SI badge. Changes in SI number, team or anything like may be reported there. It is mandatory to wear the bib number on your chest during the sprint relay. Outstanding payments are due immediately upon arrival. Scale The map scale is 1: 4,000. Food and beverages can be ordered at the hotel bar. Parking Parking at the hotel area costs 3.50 per vehicle. Club Tents There is no space for club tents at this facility. One can dress in the room. There are no showers. Safety Participants must comply with the traffic rules. You can encounter cars, cyclists and pedestrians during the race. It's a shopping night so watch out for the shopping crowd. Due to the visibility in the dark, headlights and reflective clothing are recommended. runner. This is the actual distance of the shortest possible route. A mass start is being done. This is in the park behind the hotel. There is no punching at the (pre)start. The first punch is at the first control point. Participants run different routes. Each team eventually runs the same distance. The view control point is visible from the start. The next runner then has about 2 minutes to prepare. Day 2 - Roekel Sunday 29 October Note, the clock has gone back one hour this night. Schedule 09:00 - Competition Centre open 10:30 - First start 14:30 - Award ceremony Competition Centre The competition centre on the event location opens on 9:00. Participants do not have to check in again. Scale The map scales are 1 : 10,000 (routes 1 and 2) or 1 : 7,500 (other routes). Event Location Tea house De Roek in De Hartenberg Institute Apeldoornseweg 60, 6733 SC Wekerom The tea house offers an extensive lunch menu with freshly baked breads, chips, cake, etc.. Around the teahouse is room for club tents. Limited dressing rooms will be created. Note The teahouse has a new and very vulnerable floor. That s why it is forbidden to enter the tea house with orienteering shoes (studs or spikes). We must also take into account residents and churchgoers, so do not dress in the teahouse or in the car, if it is visible to them. Description Day 2 is a middle distance event, walked on grounds of the Municipality of Ede and on the site of De Hartenberg Institute. The terrain consists of flat and varied forest with some high hills and hillocks. There are a number of compulsory passages. Some plots are covered with, medium to high, blueberry bushes. The lower runnability is not always indicated on the map to improve the readability of the map. Awards The award ceremony will be on Sunday 29 October at 14:30. There will be awards for the best three runners of each class, based on the results of Saturday and Sunday. All Children in W-10/M-10 and W/H-10 guided classes will receive an award.
