SUMMER PREPARATION PREVENT THE SUMMER SLIDE Attend summer camp at Midtown Reinforce math and reading skills in our Mustang Academy or develop creativity and design skills in our World of Engineering specialty camp. Play games: Scrabble, Boggle, Life, Monopoly, etc. Enjoy family game nights to reinforce strategic thinking skills, word study, and even math skills. Keep writing Encourage your child (and model it, too!) to keep a travel journal this summer. Create a scrapbook and annotate the pictures to remember all those fun moments together. Create travel brochures for upcoming trip destinations. Try new apps A quick google search will provide lots of recommendations or check out Ms. Kinney s list on her webpage.

SUMMER PREPARATION PURCHASE UNIFORMS Uniform Requirements: Regular Uniform Wear: Button down oxfords or polo style shirts in school colors with Merryhill crest along with uniform shorts, pants, skirts or dresses High Dress Uniform Wear (Please note: no changes from previous policy) JrK: high dress is not required K-8 Boys: Navy shorts or grey pants with white polo or white button down oxford shirt with crest K-8 Girls: Plaid or grey skirt or jumper with white polo or white button down blouse K-8 Students: Dress shoes Spirit Wear and Class Colors Each Friday is a special dress day, including free dress, high dress, and spirit wear. On spirit wear days, students may wear uniform bottoms with a spirit t-shirt. An updated order form will be included in Back to School paperwork sent in July. Students are also required to purchase the class color t-shirt for field trips. This is available in the front office.
PURCHASE UNIFORMS SUMMER PREPARATION Outerwear: Sweaters, fleece jackets, & sweatshirts must be purchased from our uniform vendor or the School Spirit Shop. Non-Uniform outwear items are prohibited. Outdoor jackets for recess time may be in any color & style. Optional navy blazers are available. Other: Socks & tights should be in uniform colors (black, gray, white, navy, khaki) Shoes can be in the form of sneakers/athletic shoes, boots, loafers, or flats. Color & style is flexible (just no neon, fur, fringe, sequins, lights) Ties are optional PE uniform wear required for grades 6th-8th* *Please note the change in policy for the 2017-2018 school year. 2 0 1 7
