EXT. SUBURBAN STREET- DAY The calm street sits quietly under the bright, cloudless blue sky. On either side of the street there are rows of moderately nice houses. A blue van drives along the street. EXT. PATTON HOUSE The van pulls into the driveway and parks. After a few moments the drivers door opens and PATTON, mid 50 s, steps out. She has a cellphone pressed to her ear. No I haven t talked to her today... Yeah, she s still upset... No. I don t think there is anything we can do about it... Melinda closes the van door, turns, and walks STRAIGHT INTO SOMEBODY! Melinda drops her cellphone and clutches her chest as she lets a surprised SCREAM slip out. CUNNINGHAM, early 20 s, throws his hands up. An embarrassed CHUCKLE escapes his lips. Whoa! Sorry! Didn t mean to scare you. Melinda glares at Nick, frustration plastered across her angry face. She bends down and picks up her cellphone. (into her cellphone) Tom?... Sorry, I dropped my phone... Yeah... I ll call you back. Bye. She hangs up and returns her glare to Nick, who runs his fingers through his hair. Nick shrugs. What do you want Nick? (CONTINUED)

CONTINUED: 2. Um... I just really wanted to apologize... You know, for the other night. I just feel terrible. Well you should feel terrible. You killed Tobi. Melinda goes to walk around Nick, but he blocks her way. That s not fair Melinda. It was dark out. I mean, what the hell was he doing in my driveway anyways? Melinda goes to walk around Nick again, but again he blocks her way. Get the fuck out of my way Nick. A few tense moments pass before Nick nods and steps aside. Melinda walks past him and continues towards the front door of her house. Sara accepted my apology. This stops Melinda in her tracks. She turns back towards Nick. Nick smiles. Sara loved that dog. She wants to press charges. Good luck with that. Nick turns and walks towards the house next door. Melinda shakes her head in frustration. Asshole. Melinda opens the front door and enters.

3. INT. PATTON HOUSE- LIVING ROOM Melinda walks across the living room. As she does she passes a framed picture on the wall. ON THE PICTURE-- It s a family portrait. Melinda, SARA PATTON, early 20 s, and a beautiful German Shepard all stare out. They look happy. (O.S.) Sara? Are you home? CUT TO: INT. CUNNINGHAM HOUSE- LIVING ROOM Nick walks through the front door and closes it behind him. He stands there for a moment and takes a deep breath. Then Nick cocks his head as if he heard something. Yes? No response. Nick smiles. You do? Nick makes his way across the living room and starts down a hallway. INT. CUNNINGHAM HOUSE- BEDROOM Nick enters the messy bedroom and walks over to the bed. He stares down at something, an odd grin spread across his face. CLOSE ON-- I love you too Sara. Sara silently lays naked on the bloody bed. Stab wounds cover Sara s petite body and face. She is dead. Nick reaches out and rubs his fingers across her face. (CONTINUED)

CONTINUED: 4. I missed you. Nick runs his fingers down to the dead girls breasts and begins to massage them. His breathing grows heavy as he leans forward and plants a quick kiss on Sara s dead lips. Your mother didn t accept my apology. Nick sits up straight and turns to an end table that sits beside the bed. On the end table lays a bloody hunting knife. Nick grabs it and holds up a few inches from his face. He smiles. Maybe she will accept this. Sara s dead eyes stare out at Nick as he admires his knife. CUT TO: EXT. PATTON HOUSE- NIGHT The full moon casts an eerie light down onto the quiet house. A light shines through an upstairs window. INT. PATTON HOUSE- BEDROOM Melinda, now in her pajamas, sits on the edge of her bed. She once more has her cellphone pressed against her ear. Sara, it s Mom. Could you please call me back and let me know where you are? She hangs up the cellphone and lays it on the bed beside her.

5. EXT. PATTON HOUSE A shadow dashes across the yard. INT. PATTON HOUSE- BEDROOM Melinda stands up and walks over to the bedroom window. THROUGH THE WINDOW-- It is dark and quiet outside. Calm. --BACK TO SCENE Melinda turns away from the window and walks back over to the bed. She lays down. RING! The cellphone rings out. Melinda grabs it and holds it up to see the main screen, which reads: INCOMING CALL SARA She answers the call. Sara where have you been? I ve been worrying- (O.S.) (over the phone) This isn t Sara. A confused expression forms across Melinda s face as she stands up from her bed. Who is this? (O.S.) (over the phone) A friendly neighbor. The confusion on Melinda s face quickly turns to anger. She rushes out of the bedroom.

6. INT. PATTON HOUSE- HALLWAY Melinda quickly walks down the hallway. No answer. Nick!? What the hell are you doing with my daughters phone? Melinda reaches a stairway and moves down it. INT. PATTON HOUSE- LIVING ROOM She walks towards the front door. Answer me god damn it! Why do you have Sara s phone!? (O.S.) (over the phone) She doesn t need it anymore. Melinda stops at the front door. She doesn t know how to take Nick s last comment. CRUNCH! What do you mean? (O.S.) (over the phone) I mean... The front door is kicked open. Melinda drops her cellphone and falls to the ground, terrified. Nick steps into the doorway, bloody knife in hand. (CONTD) I KILLED THE FUCKING BITCH! Melinda SCREAMS as she jumps to her feet and starts to run away. Nick gives chase. He reaches out and grabs her by the hair. Melinda SCREAMS again. (CONTINUED)

CONTINUED: 7. Nick raises the knife high, about to bring it down when Melinda kicks him in the groin. He GROANS out in pain as he doubles over. Melinda takes the opportunity and makes a run for the open front door, but Nick slashes out with his knife and blocks her way. She turns around and rushes back up the stairs. Nick shakes off the pain and once more gives chase. Come back here! INT. PATTON HOUSE- HALLWAY Nick chases Melinda up the stairs and through the hallway. He almost has her when she ducks into her bedroom and slams the door shut behind her. CLICK. The door is locked from the other side. Nick twists the doorknob, but it wont open. He grows frustrated. INT. PATTON HOUSE- BEDROOM Melinda rushes over to a large dresser and pulls open the top drawer. She grabs something. CRUNCH! (O.S.) I fucking hate the chase! The door is kicked open. Melinda turns towards the open door, her hands hidden behind her back. Nick calmly walks in, the knife tight in his grip. He smiles. I m the kinda guy that likes to cut to the good stuff. I.E. YOU DYING! He steps towards Melinda, who reveals a handgun and points it at him. (CONTINUED)

CONTINUED: 8. Don t you fucking move! Nick stops and stares at Melinda. Tears well up in her eyes. She quivers as the gun shakes in her hands. What are gonna do with that? Shoot me? You re not a killer. Look at you. You don t even know how to hold that thing. Where s Sara!? Nick answers her with a blank expression. (CONTD) WHAT HAVE YOU DONE WITH MY DAUGHTER!? (Calmly) Before you die I m going to make you forgive me. Nicks blank expression suddenly turns to anger as he raises his knife charges Melinda. BAM! A eruption of crimson shoots out of Nicks shoulder, but he doesn t stop. BAM! BAM! BAM! The next two shots land in Nicks chest while the third shot misses its mark. Still Nick presses on. He SCREAMS out in rage. BAM! The final shot pierces through Nicks right eye and blows out the back of his head. Blood, brains, and bits of skull shoot out as he collapses to the ground, dead. Melinda doesn t move. She just stares at Nicks lifeless body. The handgun still shakes in her uneasy hands. She CRIES.

9. EXT. PATTON HOUSE Once more the house sits quietly under the night sky. FADE TO: BLACK
