Message from ACC President- Mr. Shoken NARITA Hong Kong is one of Asia s most treasured regions. Blessed with a beautiful coastline and fantastic currents that cater to both the leisurely recreational paddlers as well as the world-class top athletes, it is indeed the optimal venue for an international watersports event. It is therefore a great honor to celebrate the commencement of the 2014 Hong Kong Beach Festival, especially ocean racing events hosted by the Hong Kong Canoe Union. Of course these races would not have been possible were it not for the initiative and support of the Hong Kong SAR Government, and I thank them for their contribution to the development and proliferation of our sports culture to the community in this way. Finally I would like to take this opportunity to thank the participants of the races who have gathered to take part in this harmonious competition. I wish them a safe and enjoyable experience surf skiing through one of the world s most picturesque waterscapes, and I thank all for their earnest sportsmanship. Shoken NARITA President Asian Canoe Confederation
