LETTER FROM THE COACHES Dear Dancer, Thank you for expressing an interest in trying out for the Lindenwood University Dance Team Program for the 2017-2018 season! The Dance Team Program consists of three teams: the Golden Line; the Lionettes, who currently compete at NDA competitions; and the Lion Line, which has earned seven national championships since 2008 while competing at UDA competitions. Each team is made up of roughly 20 dancers whose main purpose is to support Lindenwood University along with its students, activities, and sports teams. We focus on academic achievement, school spirit, competitive success, community service, team bonding, and personal growth and empowerment. We also hope to instill lessons of responsibility, teamwork, discipline, and character. Through the art of dance, our members grow as dancers and as people while having fun, making life-long friends, and creating amazing memories. We appreciate every dancer s interest in the program, and it is our hope that each of you enjoys yourself and learns something from this process. We will be looking for technique, strength, facials, cleanliness, style, positive attitudes, and work ethic when selecting teams. Those selected should be prepared to commit fully to the team s ambitions, to cooperate completely with the coach and teammates, and to put in the work to be successful. Feel free to contact the head coach with any questions or concerns at BAustin@lindenwood.edu. Good luck to all participants! ~ Coach Austin, Coach Rigg, Coach Sterns, Coach Streisel, and Coach Vazquez
