We do not accept a copy of your insurance, Certificate of Currency only. All cattle, including calves at foot, must be tested for pestivirus and certified as non PI to be entered for competition. All cattle must have NLIS tags in place. Lismore Showground PIC No. is NK53 7983 The Society has adopted the minimum standard for show organisers as recommended by the National JD Market Assurance Program whereby a Declaration must be signed stating that Johne's disease is not known or suspected to have occurred during the past 5 years in herds or properties from which these animals originate. All TN or MN1/2/3 or Beef Only Status cattle will be segregated from non-assessed cattle with separate housing and washing facilities. No communal watering facilities will be available. All cattle including calves must be tethered at all times. Cattle owners must provide water containers. Blood testing is not required to sign declaration form. ENTRY FEES: Incl. GST: Members $22.00 Non-members $27.50 per entry, $33.00 per entry fee for Led Steer classes. The Society is registered for GST & is required to pay GST on all entry fees received. To assist with any claims all s will receive a Tax Invoice/receipt. PEN & GROUP & COW & CALF CLASSES PAY 50% OF ENTRY FEE. MEMBERSHIP OF THE SOCIETY IS INVITED $65 (incl. GST) allows Member, Guest & Members children (3 in total) under 18 years - when accompanied by Member plus car, access to all three days of the Exhibition. The Society will be pleased to accept nominations for any other unlisted breeds of registered cattle. Apply to Office prior to 30/8/2016. WEIGHING OF CATTLE: Weighing of steers will be between 2pm - 3pm ONLY Thursday afternoon. Stud cattle weighing will commence at 3-4pm. WEIGHING IS COMPULSULORY FOR MALES AND OPTIONAL FOR FEMALES. Weight and date of birth to be recorded on neck cards which must be worn during judging. Neck cards issued by breed captains/stewards. No cattle will be allowed on grounds after Judging commences. TICK REGULATIONS: Lismore Showground is outside the cattle tick protected area. Cattle from Qld will meet their requirements at the border and will be permitted from the point of entry to the showground and return to that point. Cattle from within the CTPA will be treated by tick staff before they cross the line to free area NSW and permit will be marked to cover their return. ALL CATTLE WILL BE INSPECTED AND SCANNED ON GROUNDS. NOTE:MAP CATTLE WILL BE SEGREGATED IN SHEDS. ALL EXHIBITORS OF STEERS MUST BE MSA REGISTERED Exhibitors can register online at www.mla.com.au/msa and then select the Producer Registration Button up the top of the page. GENERAL CONDITIONS 1 Entry fees must be paid at time of entry with a Certificate of Currency (not a copy of your insurance) for Public Liability $10 million (no phone entries accepted). No steer entries will be accepted by fax. 2 All stud cattle must be led and all exhibits must be registered. 3 All bulls over 12 months must be rung, Under 12 months bulls and all females must either be rung or have nosegrips in single classes. 4 All animals being led or paraded on the showground must have strong halters & nose lead attached at all times. 5 It is the responsibility of each to ensure that the leaders of their stock in judging rings & parades or elsewhere on the ground, are capable of exercising control over animals in their care. The stewards reserve the right to have any animal removed from the judging ring, main arena or other areas, if in their opinion, such animal is classed as dangerous, intractable, or is disadvantaging other exhibits. 6 All first prize animals shall compete for champion. If doubts arise in mind of the judge in any class the matter will be referred to the chief steward for consideration. 7 A heifer is considered a female animal which has not had a calf and is not over three years of age. 8 In all classes judges will be asked to allot 2nd and 3rd prizes. 4th prize where there are 10 or more entries. 9 All leaders of animals in stud section entering the ring for judging must have their pocket card number clearly visible to judges and stewards. 10 An exhibit shall not receive an award if in the opinion of the Judge it is unworthy of such award. 11 All exhibits in cow and calf, pen and group classes must have been entered in a single class and fifty percent of entry fee is charged for these classes. Cow must be named in cow and calf class 12 Calves may be paraded with their mothers provided cow is lactating and calf is under 8 months. Calves under 8 months entered in their own class cannot be shown with the mother in her class or in the cow & calf class. 13 No drug, hormone or tranquilliser shall be administered to any animal exhibit except under the direction of the Society's veterinary surgeon who shall advise the senior steward if in his opinion such drug, hormone or tranquilliser is likely to have any effect upon the animal which would be material to its chances of being awarded a prize and in such case the stewards may debar the animal at anytime from competing. Senior stewards may at any time direct the society's veterinary surgeon to take a sample of blood, saliva or urine from an exhibit for testing. 14 All cattle must be available for inspections to person nominated by the society at anytime. 15 The society will not hold itself responsible for any loss or non-delivery of livestock or other exhibits at the show or any damage there to. 16 All persons leading exhibits in judging ring must wear dust coats or applicable uniforms. 17 Clipping of cattle - no leads to be left in traffic areas and s to provide circuit breakers for same. 18 All exhibits must be the bona fide property of the except where otherwise stated. 19 Junior champion will be taken from under 20 months classes. 20 The live weight and age is to be shown on the breast plate from scales that will be on the grounds (see weighing times page 1). 21 Breeding date 1st October - see table below for correct classes. 22 Neck straps or chains are compulsory on all animals over 8 months when not in the control of an attendant. 23 First cross hybrids may not be shown as a pure bred. 24 No prize money awarded for classes by Society - ribbons only. 25 Special prizes/trophy from breed societies. Donors etc acknowledged in catalogue. 26 All cattle entered must remain on grounds until after grand parade and all prize winning cattle must take part in the Grand Parade. 28 All cattle under 20 months of age will be mouthed and any animal under 18 months (born after 1st April) showing permanent teeth or broken gums will be disqualified. Any animal over 18 & under 20 months with more than 2 permanent teeth will be disqualified. 29 Steers showing pure-bred characteristics are eligible to be selected for "Pen of Three". Selection of "pen of three" steers will be by individual breed groups with maximum of 2 pens/breed. 80 steers only accepted for hook Competition - no faxed entries. Steers will be supplied with an ear tag number for identification, and will be paid in the name they are exhibited in. Vendor declaration required on sale day (Thursday). In the case of disputes the Committee shall be the Arbitrator. Any steer showing a permanent tooth will be excluded. All steers must be rung 5

and no HGP steers may be exhibited. All steers must be polled or dehorned. Nose rings must remain in steers until they are killed or animal will be disqualified & no rings will be returned 30 Cattle Transport Trucks must not enter Grounds; offending owners will be barred from exhibiting their cattle. 31 The Society has the right to be the sole arbitrator in relation to all disputes, omissions, acts. etc. and such decisions shall be final and binding upon all persons affected therein. 32 All competitors/s agree to compete/exhibit at his/her/their own risk and to indemnify and keep indemnified the North Coast National Agricultural A&I Society, together with any other organisation or person involved in the conduct of the show against all claims, suits, actions or demands which may be brought in respect of any injury or other loss sustained by him/her/them in the course of competing/ exhibiting at the show and agree to exonerate the committee of management of the show society together with any other organisation or person involved in the conduct of any agricultural show from all loss or injury to him/her/or them due to alleged negligence or otherwise. 33 EXHIBITORS MUST HOLD $10 MILLION PUBLIC LIABILITY INSURANCE AND PROVED A CERTIFICATE OF CURRENCY (not a copy of insurance) WITH THE ENTRY FORM 34 NO BEDDING STRAW ALLOWED sawdust will be supplied 35. ALL CATTLE MUST BE TESTED FOR PESTIVIRUS AND CERTIFIED NON PI (Persistently Infected). Certification of testing and proof of non PI status will be required with the application for entry in the form of a lab report, listing animals and their identification. Animals previously tested and certified as non PI animals are not required to be re-tested, however certification must be supplied. Proof of testing received must marry exhibit names on entry form. Lismore is now outside the cattle tick protected area. Qld stud cattle apply and cattle within CTPA may apply for a permit to leave their areas to exhibit at Lismore. Schools Led Steer Competition Thursday 20th October General Rules 1. All steers for the Schools Competition must be nominated on Open Entry Form - NO ENTRIES ACCEPTED ON THE DAY 2. Steers will be weighed on Thursday 3. A maximum of 3 steers may be entered per High School into the Competition and must be entered in the School's name. 4.
