Ensure workers are trained in above procedures. Instruct workers never to hold the telephone handset between their neck & shoulder as this can cause serious neck injury or stroke. Provide workers with telephone headsets if call volumes are heavy or answering telephone is undertaken in conjunction with using the computer. Workload Stress Ensure the office is adequately staffed. Ensure workers are sufficiently trained to complete work required. Make sure job descriptions are clear. Encourage staff to report high workloads to their manager. Environment Cold Hot Drafts Ill health Heat stress Locate desks so workers are not in drafts. Allow for good ventilation. Organise office so workers are not sitting in direct sunlight. Provide a barrier between staff & entranceway to combat drafts, if the door needs to be kept open. Comply with NZS 4303 Ventilation Air Quality.
