PLASTIC COATING The anti-corrosive plastic coating is made of 11 polymiades. Technical features are as follows: Approximate thickness: 25O to 3OO microns. Melting point: 184 to 186 C. Flammability: Self-extinguishable. Shore hardness D to 2O C, 75. Overall, the coating is considerably resistant to base chemicals, sea water, saline environments, oils, grease aromatic solvents, organic acids, diluted mineral acids and aliphatic solvents. Neither fungi, or microorganisms stick to the surface nor does frost collect. Resistance to boiling water: Excellent adhesion after 2OOO hours. Resistance to exposure to the elements: Excellent. Resistance to salt spray: There is no corrosion after 2OOO hours exposure (ASTM B-117 or AFNOR X 41-OO2 standard). Resistance to sea water: There is no corrosion after 1O years exposure. APPLICATION METHOD: The previously prepared metallic part is heated in an oven at a constant temperature ranging between 3OO C and 45O C, depending on the part mass and the nature of the metal, and as soon as it is removed from the oven, it is placed for three or four seconds in the powder suspended in a fluidification container. When the powder comes into contact with the hot metallic surface it melts and coats the said metal part evenly depending on the temperature of the part, its thermal inertia and the duration of the immersion. The part is removed from the container and air-cooled. 5

TECHNICAL FEATURES GENERAL STANDARDS The laboratory fittings we produce are manufactured according to the following specific standards: DIN 1292O Color code for fluids on operating devices of laboratory taps. DIN 12898 Laboratory taps; outlet nozzles. DIN 12919 Laboratory taps, connecting sleeves; tap columns, heights and flang dimensions. DIN 3537 Gas valves PN 4 requirements and test for approval of laboratory valves. We can manufacture in line with other standards from other countries. DIN 12918-1 Laboratory taps. Part 1: Valves for water. WATER FITTINGS Standard headwork with non-rising spindle, not in contact with water, wide diameter and trapezoidal thread which guarantees long service-life. 6

TECHNICAL FEATURES WATER FITTINGS With ceramic head cartridge for long life, with opening and closing function 1/4 turn, certified according to EN 2OO with satisfactory results after 25O.OOO cycles. GAS VALVES For better quality, safety and longer service life. The push and turn ceramic cartridge 1/4 turn with a catch that prevents accidental opening and a visual indication of open or closed position. 7

TECHNICAL FEATURES VACUUM, COMPRESSED AIR AND OTHER GASES AND FLUIDS These valves have a teflon washer with a exchangeable stainless steel seat, with screw pitch of O,75 mm. through which the flow rate can be finely regulated. FITTINGS FOR SPECIAL WATER We have % plastic or stainless steel taps for special waters such as distilled water. In both cases the headwork are made from plastic. SPECIAL PRODUCTIONS Through our modular production system, we can produce particular models in line with our customer's needs and also develop new products. 8

TECHNICAL INFORMATION GENERAL All tap bodies are constructed of solid brass with the exception of special water taps which are stainless steel (6198 and 199) or plastic (298 and 299). All water taps have 1/2" BSP x 60 mm. shanks, flat ends for connection by standard tap connectors or female stud couplings, except for stainless steel special water taps and water panel valve outlets which are 3/8" BSP x 60 mm. other lengths of shank are available by request. Grey (RAL 7035) is the standard colour, black (RAL 9005) and white (RAL 9091 or RAL 9016) are available to order, requests for other colours are at our discretion. All taps are available with either fixed serrated or removable nozzles with the exception of drop lever gas taps and stainless steel special water taps which are all fixed nozzle and plastic special water taps which are only removable nozzles. Removable nozzles leave 1/2" BSP male threads for connection to a jet pump, quick release couplings or items of laboratory equipment, water taps are also available with an aerated nozzle. All water systems should be fully flushed before use. If there is a problem of particulate contamination then an in line filter should be fitted. All dry service systems should be fully purged and proved before use with compressed air or white spot nitrogen as the recommended test medium. MIXER TAPS A balanced flow or tank supply of water is required, a minimum flow rate of 5 litres per minute is recommended. Mounting holes of 22 mm. dia, are required at 120 mm. centres for models 160, 161, 162, 170, 171, and 172. Mounting holes of 22 mm. dia, are required at 150 mm. centres for models 140, 141, 142, 150, 151, 152, 812, 813, 814, 190, 191, and 192. WATER TAPS All water taps are tested at 10 bar pressure, site tests should not exceed 8 bar, a minimum flow rate of 5 litres per minute at 1 bar is recommended. A mounting hole of 22 mm. (for 1/2" BSP shank) or 17 mm. (for 3/8" BSP shank) is required, where fittings are available with an anti-rotation pin then a separate hole of 5 mm. dia, should be drilled at 17 mm. from the centre of the shank. Headworks are supplied as 3" 1/2 turn non rising spindle type except for wrist action lever taps which are supplied with as ceramic 1/4" turn, ceramic headwork s are also available for all other water taps by request. Fixed serrated nozzles are suitable for 9-16 mm. bore tubing, aerated nozzles will not accept rubber tubing. It is recommended that a tank supply is used for cold water supply, however if direct mains cold water is used then the water supply by laws should be followed with regard to the fitting of double check valves and minimum air gaps etc. MONOBLOC MIXER TAPS A balanced flow or tank supply of water is required with a minimum flow rate of 5 litres per minute at 5 bar. A mounting hole of 36 mm. dia, is required with adequate space underneath the work top for the hose on model 320 to have free movement. Connection is by means of 10 mm. copper tube on models 110, 111, and 112 and by 3/8" flexible tap connectors on models 310, 311, 312, and 320 which are supplied. Single control mixers have both flow and temperature controlled by one handle, replacement cartridges are available on request. 9

TECHNICAL INFORMATION SPECIAL WATER TAPS A mounting hole of 17 mm. for models 6198 and 199 and 22 mm. for models 298 and 299 is required. Both plastic and stainless steel models are fitted with a plastic/ceramic headwork with a clutch mechanism operative in the off position. Water connection to the plastic taps is by means of an 8 mm. connector which is supplied attached to the nylon or polypropylene tube. Special water lines must be fully cleaned after installation. PANEL FRONT CONTROL VALVES Panel valves require a hole of 28 mm. diameter cutting into the facia with two 7 mm. holes on either side at 19 mm. centres which are for the M4 fixing screws. Panel valves are for front mounting although rear mounting is possible. Testing for panel valves is the same as for ordinary water, dry services and natural gas taps. DRY SERVICE TAPS A mounting hole of 17 mm. is required for all dry service taps. All dry service taps are supplied with a needle valve headwork and replaceable stainless steel seat, ceramic 1/4" turn headworks are available on request. All needle valve versions of the dry service taps are factory tested at 16 bar and have a maximum working pressure of 10 bar, on site test pressures should not exceed 10 bar. Fixed serrated or removable nozzles are available as standard, quick release couplings are available by request. Dry service lines must be cleaned and purged with compressed air or white spot nitrogen. 10

EMERGENCY SHOWERS AND EYE WASH Safety Showers and Eyes Washes gives an immediate deluge of water that would dilute and wash away injurious materials, such as caustics, acids, fire, radioactive materials... This is the least expensive and most practical method of decontamination yet discovered. Shower heads are made in ABS (cycolac) plastic in bright yellow color chemical resistant or in stainless steel. They give a concentrated flow of water in a drench column and cannot be clogged. Eye Washes with either one or two streams with ABS bowl or stainless steel bowl gives a large flow of aerated water at reduced pressure. In addition plastic float-off covers prevent airborne contaminants. They float off when the eye wash is operated. Our products meet or exceed permance standards: DIN - 12 899 and ANSI - Z 358-1.1998.
