This is what you can look forward to in May» Saturday 5 May 2018: For those flying from South Africa, we meet mid-morning at OR Tambo International Airport for checkin. Our Singapore Airlines flight departs at 13:45 and, after enjoying a Singapore Sling and a light meal, we settle in for some quality entertainment on SilverKris or get comfy for a night s rest. Sunday 6 May 2018: We land around sunrise in Singapore and have a short stop at the world s best airport Changi. Our onward flight to Danang in Vietnam is onboard Silk Air, the shorthaul division of Singapore Airlines, and we re due to land in Vietnam by 10:30. After collecting our bags and clearing customs, we take a short drive in an air-conditioned coach to our home for the tour the beautiful town of Hoi An, just south of Danang. Monday 7 May 2018: Hoi An is known for it s incredible tailors, and over the years we have found the best in town. For those interested in getting dresses, suits, casual wear and more tailored while in Vietnam we have arranged a private measuring and consultation session for our group this morning. You ll have your personal consultant assisting you, with an endless supply of fabrics and patterns to choose from but if you wish to bring your own inspiration or clothes you d like copied, then by all means do so. Mid-afternoon we reconvene for a cruise down the river to near the river mouth, passing a number of farms and a large fishing community along the way. The cruise is always a great vibe, and it s a great way to see some of the countryside. We turn and head back to cruise upriver, arriving in Hoi An as the lights start coming on with the sun setting behind the town. Always a beautiful sight! Tuesday 8 May 2018: This morning we head out of town for our first round of golf at the multi-award winning IMGmanaged Ba Na Hills Golf Course. In its first year of operation it bagged the Best New Course in the World 2016 title, and has since gone on to add several others to the awards cabinet. As the name suggests, it s nestled in the hills and is as dramatic as it is incredible to play. Be sure to pay special attention as you go round, as we return later in the week for an evening round of golf playing the back nine after sunset and under lights. Wednesday 9 May 2018: After breakfast we hop on bicycles and head off to explore the region between town and the nearby Cua Dai beach. After an opportunity to have some drinks and swim in the East Vietnam / South China Sea, we climb in the saddle again and head through the houses and fields to arrive at a very special place The Field. Accessible only by bike and on foot (or small canoe), you are sheltered from the sound of motor vehicles and can sit alongside the river in peace & quiet. Together with their incredible chef, we have selected a small taste platter to help introduce you to the flavours of Vietnam and help you explore the local cuisine in a controlled manner. Thursday 10 May 2018: We start off today with a morning at leisure, allowing you to head off for a sunrise photography tour sleep late, head back to the tailors for a fitting or explore the town on foot. After lunch we load up our coach and head to Ba Na Hills again, this time for some golf under lights. We ll play a shotgun start, and we expect to turn around sunset as the lights come on. The general consensus among the May 2017 group was that it was one of their top golfing experiences of all time. Friday 11 May 2018: Friday is totally for you to relax or explore, just as you wish. He s regarded the best teacher in town, not only because he is incredibly good but also because he is entertaining and everyone comes out from classes having learned a lot and having had a fantastic time. The fantastic team will make you feel right at home from the moment you step off the bus, and you re going to absolutely love the course. If you have a non-playing partner travelling with, maybe today is the day you get them into golf because the PGA pro at Montgomerie is one of the best in Asia! Sunday 13 May 2018: Our last day in Vietnam is spent at leisure, with the option to visit the ancient religious sight of My Son. While stories of its demise and destruction vary widely, this cluster of abandoned and partially ruined Hindu temples was constructed between the 4 th and 14 th century AD by the kings of Champa and believed to be the longest inhabited archaelogical site in Indochina. It is considered one of the foremost Hindu temple complexes in Southeast Asia, and one of the most important heritage sites of this nature in Vietnam.
