Report on the 4th Southern Europe Sub Regional Gathering The 4th Southern Europe Sub Regional Gathering (SESR) took place on Saturday 24 October, in Marrakesh, as part of the 15th Mediterranean Gathering. The Gathering was organised by Virginia Bonasegale, responsible WCom member for SESR. Representatives from France, Greece, Italy Portugal, Spain and Switzerland were Present. Absent was Cyprus. The Gathering opened with the discussion on the amendments of the SESR Constitution as per the proposals of France and Italy. The proposed amendments were unanimously adopted by the participants. Then in a very and friendly atmosphere each Fellowship indicated its representative and Franco Vecchiocattivi, the Italian International Secretary was unanimously elected Chairman of the Sub-Regional Committee. Their triennial term started immediately. Finally Ana Rodrigues, International Secretary of Spain, was elected by the new Committee as the representative of the Sub-Region to the European Committee, for 2016-2018. Her term will start at the 9th European Conference in 2016, in Tours. The next 5 th SESR meeting will be held during the 16 th Med Gathering to be hosted in 2018, in Attica Greece!!!!! Page 2

South Europe Sub Region (SESR) consists of the countries of the southern half of the landmass of Europe, that are full or Central Branch (CB) Members of ISGF. At present there are no Associated (AMO) Members in the Sub Region. Full Members: At present the NSGFs of the Sub Region are (in alphabetic order) : Cyprus, France, Greece, Italy, Portugal, Spain and South (French speaking) Switzerland. CB Members: a. Israel CB Group with 15 members b. Turkey CB Group The Association of Turkish Scouting Volunteers with 184 members has applied for affiliation There are contacts with Malta and Monaco and soon there will be CB members in both countries. HISTORY : The South Europe Sub-Region was founded in Acireale (Sicily) in 2006. Founding members were : Cyprus, France, Greece, Italy, Portugal, Spain and French Speaking Switzerland. SESR is organised according to the Constitution adopted in 2006, in Acireale at the 1 st SESR meeting and amended in at the 4th SESR meeting in Marrakesh. Acireale 2006 Marrakesh Election of the Chairman At the Committee meeting during each Gathering, the SESR elects among its members, its Chairman. The term of his/her office shall be for three (3) years. The Chairman shall be eligible for re-election for a maximum of two (2) consecutive terms of office, i.e. six (6) years. The post of the SESR Committee Chairman should rotate among the NSGFs within the SESR.
