(four games) and Cincinnati (three games). The Cubs have now dropped 12 of their last 16 road games since May 13 but have won 15 of their last 22 home games over the same stretch. The Cubs are now more than halfway through their 20-game road trip, as Miami represents City Four of a stretch where the Cubs play six series in six different ballparks in this stretch, the Cubs are 6-5 after games at New York (1-2), Pittsburgh (2-1), Wrigley Field (2-1 vs. San Diego) and Miami (1-1). Overall, the Cubs are 7-5 in their last 12 games since June 11 after dropping four-straight contests from June 7-10 prior to that skid, the Cubs had won five-consecutive games to begin the month of June. The Cubs, currently a game over.500 and even in the loss column/1.5-games behind N.L. Central Division leader Milwaukee, have not been more than four games over.500 or two games under.500 at any point this year the Cubs are one of only six teams in the N.L. with a record above.500. The Cubs series victory against the Pirates to complete their last trip was their first on the road in more than six weeks since they took two of three games in Pittsburgh, April 24-26 that series win snapped a stretch of six-straight series setbacks on the road. IT SOUNDS LIKE QUITE THE FISH STORY: This afternoon marks Jon Lester s fifth career start against the Miami Marlins, his second as a Cub, as he allowed two runs in seven innings to record a no-decision in a 4-2 setback for the Cubs one year ago yesterday here at Marlins Park overall, Lester is 0-2 with two no-decisions in his first four career starts against the Marlins. In his career, Lester has recorded a win against 28 of the 30 major league clubs, with the Marlins and Red Sox, whom he has never faced, as the lone outcasts. Lester has recorded 15 wins against both Baltimore and Toronto, his most vs. any individual club among National League teams, Lester has more wins against the Phillies than any other, as he is a perfect 7-0 against them. With three strikeouts today, Lester will become the eighth left-handed pitcher in franchise history to reach 500 strikeouts with the club he also needs three innings to reach 500.0 innings pitched with the Cubs.
