U 55.009/3 Operation The ontrol passage () is losed and the mixing passage () is opened by pressing the spindle in; it is returned by spring (the spring is in the valve). The XT 11 thermal drive an be used to move the valve to the OPEN or COSED position. Used in ombination with the normally losed' drive version, the ontrol passage loses in the event of power failure. mixing valve 1017a 10159a Used with the XS 15S atuator, the valve an be moved to any position. Depending on the settings of the DIP swithes, the valve is moved ontinuously with a ontrol voltage of 0...10 V / 10 0 V or 10 V / 10 V. The ontrol signal is then assigned linearly to the valve stroke and provides the equalperentage harateristi in the valve. The positioner integrated within the atuator ontrols the atuator in relation to the settings of the DIP swithes and the positioning signal y. The atuator positions the valve and, as soon as the position has been reahed, it stops. Used with the XM 117 motorised drive, the valve an be moved to any position. On the XM 117S (with positioner), the valve is moved ontinuously by a ontrol voltage of 0...10V. Variants: F0 opens (and F loses) the ontrol passage as the ontrol voltage rises. Used with a ontinuous drive (0...10 V), the pratially equalperentage harateristi provides optimum ontrol. The k VS values in the bypass are about % less than those of the ontrol passage. Therefore, the flow resistane of the load is taken into aount, so that the total throughflow in every stroke position remains fairly onstant. The pratially equalperentage harateristi in the ontrol passage provides optimum ontrol when used together with a ontinuous 0...10 V drive. Engineering and fitting notes The final ontrol element an be fitted in any position exept faing downwards. The ingress of ondensate, dripping water et. into the drive should be prevented. In order to prevent avitation noise from affeting rooms where quietness is essential, the differene aross the valve should not exeed the following values: U 010 F. = 0.5 bar, F.0 = 0. bar / F.10 and F.00 = 0.8 bar U 015 F.10 = 0. bar, F.00 = 0.8 bar X 00 F.00 = 0.5 bar In order to restrain ontaminants in the water (e.g. welding beads, rust partiles et.) and prevent the spindle seal from being damaged, we reommend the employment of olletive filters, e.g. for eah floor or feed pipe.
