Both China and the world did their best to solve this problem. The Ping-pong diplomacy opened P.R. China the door to the world.

The P.R. China used the national flag and anthem and Taiwan changed to use the Chinese Taipei Olympic logo. This diplomatic success in unique of its kind gave an example to the world to solve similar problems.
IOC restored China s legitimate seat in 1979. The photo shows the celebration. Chinese delegation arrived at Nagoya, Japan, to attend the IOC meeting.

Besides, I believe that the most important or the legacy is to promote the Chinese culture, especially advocating the Olympic Spirit and Olympic Ideal to millions of youngsters through Olympic education programmes.
