wors CUP Cross-country JULY 7-9, 2017 e CASCADE MOUNTAIN, PORTAGE, WI e worscup.com - 715.498.9677 As the USA Cycling Regional Mountain Bike Championships, this event will determine the 2017 champions in the discipline of mountain bike cross-county. Course: The Alpine Valley Cross-Country course takes it up a notch with a challenging mix of punchy climbs, forested singletrack, technical descents, rock gardens, switchbacks and fast traverses while providing options for racers of all abilities. Racers pass through the area in front of the lodge several times each lap to provide outstanding spectator opportunities. Course modifications for 2017 will put the more of the course in front of spectators. USA Cycling Categories Pro, Cat 1, Cat 2, Cat 3, and Junior (racers 14 & under as of 12/31/17). Those that compete in WORS Comp category or a similar non-usac category will compete in Cat 2. The new darling of the mountain bike world, Enduro presents as an evolution of Super D. While Enduro formats can differ widely the constant is multiple timed descents mixed with uphill transports that require participants to balance their choice of bike between downhill travel and climbing ease. Our King of the Mountain Challenge Enduro will feature two timed descents and two non-timed ascents utilizing the full length of Cascade Mountain s vertical. Competitors start each of their two climbs from the bottom and, while the climbs are not timed, racers must check in at the top by 1:30 for Descent #1 and by 3;00 for Descent #2. Racer will descend individually at twenty second intervals. This cycle will be repeated and the times from each of the descents will be added together for placing to determine the USA Cycling Midwest Enduro champions. Pro/Open (open to USA Cycling Cat 1 and Cat 2 with annual license), Amateur (open to USA Cycling Cat 2, Cat 3 and Junior). Please note the minimum age for this event is twelve.
