Artistic Analysis of Player performance on Artistic gymnastic systems in the World Championship 2013, Antwerp, Belgium ================ Dr. Zakaria Hassan Hassan Shehata ) * ( Introduction: Artistic gymnastics is one of the branches of gymnastics in which competitors perform short sections (range between 30 to 90 seconds in time) on each of the different systems (parallel bars, throat horse, jumping table, ring, ground exercises and trapeze). It is clear that the performance time on the vault decreases (see the jump lists) (international law of men and women gymnastics) [8] Artistic gymnastics is one of the most popular scenes in the summer Olympic games, although it is not popularly exercised sport. Artistic gymnastics requires as performance high standards of fitness and skills that constitute the largest part of exercise of many individuals who prepare for qualification to participate in the competitions. In addition, the artistic gymnastic male and female players participate with their national team over six/ four systems. Scores of highest points are used in the competition to determine which team can qualify to the finals of the teams and any individual player/ players who quality to the finals of the activity. The highest scored points in the competition are used to determine the winners of the team competitions medals. The current form 6-3-3 means that there are six gymnastic players of the teams, three compete, and each three is considered the highest points. The report of literatures is sometimes highlighted as concepts for the women/ men artistic gymnastic skills. It would be useful to determine the strengths and weaknesses in the artistic performance of technical gymnastics of men/ women, and to use them as standard for diagnosis of the artistic gymnastics performance of men and women players. Problem of the research: Planning for development and upgrade of artistic gymnastics for men in the Arab Republic of Egypt requires provision of some information on * Prof. Dr. Zakaria Hassan Shehata: Assistant Professor, Department of Kinematics, Faculty of physical Education in Damietta, Damietta University.

the progress and development in international artistic gymnastics of men, and standing of the Egyptian national team of artistic gymnastics for men in Egypt for the international artistic gymnastic men teams. It benefits those who work in the field of upgrade and development of artistic gymnastics of men in the Arab Republic of Egypt. The successive analytical studies of international artistic gymnastics of men are the best indicator that enables us to know the information related to presentation and development of the international artistic gymnastics of men, and identification of the weaknesses of the Egyptian artistic gymnastic men team. The researcher conducted this technical analytical study of the results of artistic gymnastic player performance in the world championship 2013 in Antwerp, Belgium. (2), (3), (4), (9) The researcher believes that there is deficiency of information on the development and progress of international artistic gymnastics in the Arab Republic of Egypt, which constitutes a problem in the way of the artistic gymnastics players and planners in the Arab Republic of Egypt. The problem of the research appeared her. The research aims at defining the differences between the performance scores of the artistic gymnastic men players in the World Championship in Antwerp, Belgium, as indicator on how the international men artistic gymnastics is developed or underdeveloped, beside analysis of the results for the Egyptian players who participated in this international champion of artistic gymnastics of men. Objectives of the research: This research aimed at: 1- Analyzing the performance results of players who participated in the general single competitions of men in the 2013 World Championship in Antwerp, Belgium. 2- Determination of the percentage of contribution of performance points on the artistic gymnastic systems for men in the total overall points of performance on the artistic gymnastics systems for men in the 2013 World Championship in Antwerp, Belgium. 3- Determination of the predictive equation to predict the total overall points of performance on the artistic gymnastic systems for men with the significance of scores of the players who participate in the general single competitions of artistic gymnastics for men in the 2013 World Championship in Antwerp, Belgium.

Hypotheses of the research: 1- There are statistically significant differences between the scores of performance of players who participated in the general single competition in artistic gymnastics of men in the 2013 World Championship in Antwerp, Belgium. 2- There are statistically significant differences between the scores of performance of players in the single competition of systems in artistic gymnastics of men in the 2013 World Championship in Antwerp, Belgium. 3- The percentage of contribution of the performance scores on the artistic gymnastic systems for men varies in the overall points on the artistic gymnastic system for men in the 2013 World Championship in Antwerp, Belgium. 4- The total scores of performance on the artistic gymnastic systems for men in the 2013 World Championship in Antwerp, Belgium can be predicted by the significance of variables that contribute to it. Literatures: 1- Alaa El Din Mustafa Hamed Mustafa conducted, in (2000 AD) [8] study of technical analysis of the performance standard of players in the World Gymnastics Championship in 1999 in China to determine the weaknesses or strengths in the Egyptian team and to compare its results to the results of the teams that participated in this competition. The research sample was chosen based on the purposeful method and included the results of the World Artistic Gymnastics Championship 1999 AD in China. In addition, the technical documents and reports were used as data collection means. The researcher used the Strata Statistics package using personal computer to calculate the significance of differences between the performance standard of the sample under study using Man Whitney test, Pearson Correlation Coefficient and the logical regression analysis. The key results indicated that there are real differences between the performance standards of the teams that participated in the World Men Artistic Gymnastics Championship in 1999 which was organized in China. The best level was scored by the Chinese team and the weakest was scored

by the Egyptian team. The perform on the parallel bars systems, jumping horse, pommel horse, ground horses, ring, and pommel respectively. Performance standard of the national Egyptian team was weak on the systems of ground movements, parallel barss and ring. In addition, the highest performance standards on the different systems that contributed to the total performance standard is the performance standard on the pommel horse system, pommel system, two parallel bars systems and ring respectively. In addition, the researcher reached predictive formula of the total on the gymnastics systems with the significance of the previous levels as follows: Total of performance standard score on all systems = 35.371+1.194 (score of pommel store) + 1.562 (score of parallel barss) + 1.326 (score of ring) 2- Adel Abdelbassir (2007 AD) [1] conducted study on "Analysis of artistic gymnastic players in the All African Championship in Algeria, 2007AD". The purpose of the study was to analyze the performance standard on the artistic gymnastic systems for men of the teams that participated in the team competition in the ninth all African games tournament in 2007 AD, to determine the weaknesses and strengths of the performance standard of the national team players on the different systems, to identify the reasons for failure of some Egyptian players on some gymnastic systems dupommel the single competition of systems, to identify the correlation between the performance scores on the gymnastic systems and the total scores on the systems dupommel the team competition. The researcher used the descriptive methodology and chose the purposeful sample of players who participated in the artistic gymnastics competition for men in the All Africans Games tournament organized in Algeria in 2007 AD, from 11 to 23 July 2007. Players were 32. The researcher referenced the documents and reports of the technical committee that organized the African tournament 2007 of the artistic gymnasium competitions for men in this tournament as means for collection of the basic data of this study. The researcher used the Statistic Package of Social Science ( ) using the analysis of variance of Kruskal-Wallis to verify the significance of differences between the performance standards. In addition, the researcher used the logical regression analysis to determine the percentage contribution of the performance points

on systems in the total scores of performance. The key results indicated that there are differences between the performance scores of players in the general single competition in the artistic gymnastics for men in the all African tournament 2007 AD organized in Algeria. The Egyptian players relegated from the first three levels in the all African games tournaments of 1973 AD to 2003 AD to low standings in the all African games tournament of 2007 AD (fifth, seventh, eleventh, fifteen, eighteen). The Egyptian team succeeded in all systems of ground movements and jumping horse, Egyptian players were weak on the pommel horse system, parallel bars systems, pommel and ring. The importance of mastery of performance on each of the ground movements, rink horse and pommel to increase the total performance points on all systems of artistic gymnastics of men, and there is direct relation between the total of performance points on the artistic gymnastics systems for men and the total points on each of the ground movement systems, pommel horse, ring, parallel bars systems and ring. There is direct relation between the performance points on the ground exercises, and each of the points on the pommel horse, jumping horse, pommel and parallel bars systems. The researcher reached predictive formula to predict the total points on performance of all artistic gymnastic systems for men with significance of all performance points on the ground movements and performance points on the pommel horse and performance points on the pommel as follows: Total performance points on the artistic gymnastics systems for men= 20.982+1.892 (performance points on the ground movements) + 1.735 (performance points on the pommel horse) + 1.959 (performance points on the ring) 3- Study of Adel Abdulbassir Ali (2007 AD) [7], technical analysis of the results of artistic gymnastics players in the World Championship in Stuttgart 2007 AD. The purpose of the study was to analyze the performance level on the artistic gymnastics systems for women of the teams that participated in the team competition in the 2007 Stuttgart World Championship. Determination of weaknesses and strengths in the performance of the Egyptian team female players on the different systems in the 2007 Stuttgart World Championship, and identification of the reasons for failure of some Egyptian women players on some gymnastics systems dupommel the individual competition of the

2007 Stuttgart World Championship. Identification of correlation between the performance points on the gymnastics systems and the total points on the systems dupommel the team competition of 2007 Stuttgart World Championship. The research sample was chosen on the purposeful method and included the women participants in the 2007 Stuttgart World Championship (n=24). The researcher used the documents and reports of the technical committee that organized the 2007 Stuttgart World Championship concerning the artistic gymnastics competition for women in this championship as means for collection of the main data for this study. The researcher used the Statistic Package of Social science (SPSS) using the analysis of Variance of Kruskal- Wallis to verify the significance of differences between the performance levels. In addition, the logical regression analysis was used to terminate the performance of contribution of performance points on systems in the total points of performance. The key results indicated that there are differences between the performance points of women players in the general single competition of artistic gymnastics for women in the 2007 Stuttgart World Championship. Two Egyptian female players appeared to have advanced from the (128 th and 221 st ) rankings in the 2006 Denmark World Championship to the (91 st, 138 th ) rankings in the 2007 Stuttgart World Championship. It is noteworthy that player Sherine El-Zeiny qualified to participate in the next Olympic games tournament that was organized in 2008 AD in China. Egyptian players appeared weak on the four systems of gymnastics. The best women player who participated in the general single competition in artistic gymnastics for women in the 2007 Stuttgart World Championship was the American Johnson Schaffen Player who ranked the first (golden meda), followed by the Romanian Nestor Stelyana Player who ranked the second (Silver medal), followed by the Brazilian Barbossa Gady female player who ranked the third (bronze medal), and the Italian player Ferrari Vanessa who ranked the third bis, followed by the American Luken Anastassia in the fifth ranking, and the importance of mastepommel all ground movements, balance beam and two beams of different height because of the high total performance scores on all artistic gymnastic systems of women, and direct proportion between the total score of performance points on the artistic gymnastics systems for women, and the

total points on the ground movement systems, balance beam and two beams of different height. The American team ranked the first in the 2007 Stuttgart World Championship, followed by the Chinese team in the second ranking (golden medal) and the team of Romania in the third ranking (Bronze Medal), then the team of Italy in the fourth ranking and Brazil in the fifth ranked followed by the French team in the sixth ranking. The percentage of contribution of performance points on each system in the total of performance scores on the artistic gymnastics of women in the 2007 Stuttgart World Championship was calculated by descending order. The researcher reached predictive formula to predict the total performance points on all artistic gymnastic systems for women with the significance of performance points on the ground movements and the performance points on the pommel horse and performance points on the pommel as follows: Gymnastics female players. Total of performance points on the artistic gymnastics of women= 13.665 + 1.0147 (performance points on the jumping horse) + 0.911 (performance points on two beams of different height) + 1.321 (performance points on the balance beam system) + 0.419 (performance points on the ground exercises) (1) Researcher's recommendations: To reconsider the national gymnastics team of women preparation strategy for artistic gymnastics based on the following: To draw attention to review of the individual play of each player of the team based on the jumping horse system, reconsideration of the components of motor skills of each player on this system and assurance that the elements of difficult (E, D, C) the performance of which is rated are complete. To pay attention to training of the national team in hard environmental conditions (adverse shouts of fans, hot weather, low oxygen, respiratory pressure, life in training camps under harsh environmental conditions, etc.) to adapt to them and not to be affected by them when experienced in the Arab, African and Olympic tournaments. To pay attention to development of the consistent abilities such as explosive force, speed force endurance and (dynamic and static) balance. Use the following formula (1) to predict the total performance scores on all artistic gymnastics systems for women with the significance of the total performance scores of the best three players on each of the

jumping horse, ground movement and two beams of different height and balance beam. Comment on similar studies: All similar studies under study agreed that the use of descriptive methodology and choice of the sample of the research by the purposeful method and the technical documents and reports of the technical gymnastics competitions as means for collection of the basic data of the study mostly used the Statistic Package of Social Science (SPSS) in the statistic treatments. The number of the research sample ranged between (8 female players, 32 female players). The researcher considered the conclusions of the similar studies when he conducted the study under research. Methodology procedures: 1- Methodology of the Research: The researcher used the descriptive methodology because it is suitable to the nature of this study. 2- Sample of the research: The sample of the research was chosen according to the purposeful method and included all those who participated in the artistic gymnastics competitions for men in the general single, teams and single systems in the 2013 World Championship in Antwerp, Belgium. [12] 3- Means of Data Collection: The researcher used the documents and reports of the technical committee that organized the 2013 World Championship in Antwerp, Belgium, as means for collection of the basic data of this study. [12] Statistic Treatments: The researcher used the statistic package of social science using the analysis of variance and (Tukey HOC test), and the analysis of variance of Kruskal-Wallis to verify the significance of differences between the performance scores. He used the logical regression analysis to determine the contribution of performance points on the systems in the total performance scores. The researcher was satisfied with the level of statistic significance (0.05) of significance between differenecs. Presentation and discussion of results: First: Presentation of Results:

Artistic Analysis of Player performance on Artistic gymnastic systems in the World Championship 2013, Antwerp, Belgium Prof. Dr. Zakaria Hassan Hassan Shehata The purpose of this study was to: 1- Analyze the results of performance of the players who participated in the general single competition in the men artistic gymnastics in the 2013 World Championship in Antwerp, Belgium; 2- Analyze the performance results of players who participated in the general individual in the men artistic gymnastics in the 2013 World Championship in Antwerp, Belgium; 3- Determine the percentage of contribution of performance points on the men artistic gymnastics in the total points of performance on the 2013 World Championship in Antwerp, Belgium; 4- Determine the predictive equation to predict the total performance points on the men artistic gymnastics devices with the significance of points of the players who participated in the general single competition in the artistic gymnastics of men in the 2013 World Championship in Antwerp, Belgium. The researcher referenced the documents and reports of the technical committee that organized the 2013 World Championship in Antwerp, Belgium as means for basic data collection of this study. In addition, the researcher used the Statistic Package of Social Science (SPSS) using the analysis of variance and (Tukey Hoc) test to verify the significance of differences between points. In addition, the researcher used the logical regression analysis to determine the percentage of contribution of the performance points on the systems to the total performance points. The researcher was satisfied with the statistic significance of (0.05) of the statistic significance between the differences. The key results were: First: Concerning the general individual competition: Japanese player Kohei Uchimura, was superior in the general single competition and ranked the first. He scored (91.990) followed by the Japanese player, Ryohei Kato, who scored (90.032), then the German player, Fabian Hanbuchen, who scored (89.332 points). Second: concerning the devices single competition: The Japanese Player Kenzo Chirai was superior in the men single gymnastic devices in the 2013 world championship in Antwerp, Belgium on the ground exercise device. He ranked the first and scored (16.00 points). 1. Japanese player kuhei kemyama was superior in the single competition of devices in the artistic gymnastics of men in the 2013 World Championship in Antwerp, Belgium on the pommel horse devices as he ranked the first and scored (15.833 points).

2. Brazilian player Arthur Zanaty was superior in the single competition of systems in the artistic gymnastics of men in the 2013 World Championship in Antwerp, Belgium on the pommel device and ranked the first and scored (15.800 points). 3. Korean player Yang Haxyon was superior in the single competition of devices in the artistic gymnastics of men in the 2013 World Championship in Antwerp, Belgium on the vault device and ranked the first by scoring (15.533 points). 4. Player Kohei Ushimura was superior in the single competition of systems in the artistic gymnastics of men in the 2013 World Championship in Antwerp, Belgium on the parallel bars and ranked the first by scoring (15.666 points). 5. The New Zealand player Epic Zonderland was superior in the single competition of systems in the artistic gymnastics for men in the 2013 World Championship in Antwerp, Belgium on the ring device, and ranked the first by scoring (16.000 points). Third: Concerning the contribution of performance points on the men artistic gymnastics devices in the general single competition in the 2013 World Championship Competition, Antwerp, Belgium 5- Direct relation between the total scores of performance on the devices and the total performance points on each of the ground exercises devices, pommel horse, vault, parallel bars and ring. The correlation coefficients between them were respectively (*0.416, *0.426, *0.351, *0.624, **0.531, **0.619, *0.354). All of them are statistically significant at (0.05), and reverse relation between the ring and vault, as the correlation coefficient between them was (- 0.425*), which is statistically significant at significance of (0.05). The importance of performance points on the gymnastics devices can be ordered by the percentage of contribution to the total performance scores on the artistic gymnastics of men in descending order as follows: Performance points on the ground sports exercise device (59.6%) Performance points on the pommel device (9.70%) Performance points on the parallel bar device (9.60%) Performance points on the pommel horse device (6.30%) Performance points on the ring device (5.30%) Performance points on the vault device (1.00%) The percentage of contribution to the total performance points on all devices was (90.6%), so the predictive equation of predicting the overall performance points on the gymnastics devices of men with significance of performance points on the effective systems became as follows:

The total performance points on all artistic gymnastics of men = 36.114 + 2.328 (performance points on the sports exercises) 0.316 (performance points on the pummel horse) + 1.772 (performance points on the pommel) + 0.984 (performance points on the vault) + 2.417 (performance points on the two parallel bars) + 0.875 (performance points on the ring) (1) The researcher recommends as follows: 6- To reconsider the national gymnastics team of women preparation strategy for artistic gymnastics based on the following: 7- To draw attention to review of the individual play of each player of the team based on the jumping horse system, reconsideration of the components of motor skills of each player on this system and assurance that the elements of difficult (E, D, C) the performance of which is rated are complete. 8- To pay attention to training of the national team in hard environmental conditions (adverse shouts of fans, hot weather, low oxygen, respiratory pressure, life in training camps under harsh environmental conditions, etc.) to adapt to them and not to be affected by them when experienced in the Arab, African and Olympic tournaments. 9- To pay attention to development of the consistent abilities such as explosive force, speed force endurance and (dynamic and static) balance. 10- Use the following formula (1) to predict the total performance scores on all artistic gymnastics systems for men with the significance of the total performance scores of the best three players on each of the ground exercise devices, ring and vault.
