Anyone That Desires To Hunt On Town of Perinton Owned Property Must First Obtain A Town Issued Hunting Permit. To Obtain A Town Hunting Permit You Must Meet The Following Criteria: You must be a resident of the Town of Perinton with valid driver s license You must possess a valid NYS hunting license and any associated tags, permits or stamps as required by NYS DEC. You must pass a Town administered target shooting test. (Bow and Crossbow hunters only) You must obey, AT ALL TIMES, all NYS DEC hunting regulations when hunting. You must pay a $30.00 fee for the Town of Perinton Hunting Permit WATERFOWL HUNTING All hunters must possess a valid NYS hunting license with a Federal Migratory Bird and Conservation Stamp affixed to the back tag that is properly signed. You must be registered in the NYS Harvest Information Program (HIP), and display the HIP confirmation number on your license. All hunters must follow all NYS DEC Hunting Laws. Waterfowl hunting is only permitted at the White Brook North Open Space Area. Town of Perinton Hunting Permit holders can be accompanied by two additional waterfowl hunting partners that possess all required NYS DEC required hunting licenses and permits. Youth hunting may occur during the Youth hunting season dates by youths (ages 12-15) accompanied by adults who possess/comply with all above criteria. TURKEY HUNTING (FALL IS BOW ONLY, SPRING IS BOW & GUN) All hunters must possess a valid NYS issued hunting license, a Turkey Tag, be registered in the NYS Harvest Information Program (HIP), and possess HIP confirmation number. All hunters must follow all NYS DEC Hunting Laws. Turkey hunting is only allowed at the Carter Road/Furman Road Open Space Area and the White Brook North Open Space Area. No hunting is allowed after 12:00 PM (Noon) Youth hunting may occur during the Youth hunting season dates by youths (ages 12-15) accompanied by adults who possess/comply with all above criteria. COYOTE AND FOX HUNTING (BOW/GUN- specific type listed below) Rifle size larger than.223 is prohibited. No semiautomatic rifles allowed. All hunters must possess a valid NYS issued hunting license. All hunters must follow all NYS DEC Hunting Laws. From October 1 st through the end of deer season, Coyote and Fox hunting will be allowed only at night. Night is considered to be from ½ hour after sunset until one hour before sunrise. Coyote & Fox hunting is only allowed at the White Brook North Open Space Area, the Carter Road/Furman Road Open Space Area, and the Thayer Road Open Space Area. DEER HUNTING (BOW/CROSSBOW ONLY) All hunters must possess a valid NYS issued hunting license, and a valid NYS issued Archery Permit. All hunters must follow all NYS DEC Hunting Laws. Hunters MUST harvest a doe before harvesting any bucks. All harvests must be reported to DEC as per State Law, AND to the Town of Perinton. The Town reporting contact is Stacey Estrich, Director of Parks, sestrich@perinton.org. o The following information must be reported to the Town: Sex of Deer harvested Age of Deer harvested (Adult/fawn) Date of harvest Time of harvest Hunter name Hunter telephone number Location of harvest This information will be used by the Town to evaluate the effectiveness of the hunting program and its future viability. Tree stands may be erected by permitted hunters beginning September 1 st. One tree stand per hunter, per area will be allowed. Hunters must place the Town provided, numbered hunting permit tag on any stand erected. Screw-in tree steps are not permitted. No significant tree or limb cutting is permitted. The Town accepts no responsibility for damaged or stolen tree stands. All stands must be removed by January 22, 2017 or they will be removed and disposed of. No ATV or vehicle use is permitted on Town property without prior permission. Hunters must remain on Town owned property (see maps) unless prior permission to access adjacent land has been secured from the private property owner. Do not walk or approach private property lines. Stay comfortably within the Town property. Please be courteous and respect all neighboring landowners property rights. If a wounded deer enters and falls on private property, you should first secure permission from the private property owner to access and remove the deer from their property. If access is denied, then you should contact the Town of Perinton and request that a Perinton Animal Control Officer be dispatched to your location.
