Before making a pass, however, the player must call out the name of the person to whom they are going to pass. (Before using this game, everyone should sit in a tight circle and introduce themselves by first name.) (Variations: Include yourself as coach. Add more balls if success rate is high.)

YMCA of Greater Houston U6 Lesson Plan Wk 1 Body Part Dribble: (Movement Education and Coordination) All players dribbling a soccer ball. The coach calls out a body part (knee, heel). The players then stop their ball with that part of their body. Coach: Vary the body parts (remembering not to use hands or arms), number of body parts he calls out, and rate at which he calls them out. Ac vity 3 Freeze Tag: The coach or coaches start as the freeze monster without a soccer ball. The players are dribbling their soccer ball. When a freeze monster tags a player, he/she is frozen (hold a soccer ball on top of your head with legs open). To unfreeze, any dribbler must pass the soccer ball between the frozen player s legs. The Coach starts as the freeze monster then he can select one or two players to be the monster. Are the players changing direction? Are the players kicking or passing the ball? Are the players keeping the ball close to their feet? Are the players helping teammates to get unfrozen?
