NHS NHS will be having their next meeting on Thursday, December 10th at 3:15 p.m. in the Cafeteria with a make-up meeting at 6:45 a.m. in Mrs. Johnson s room 1225.

Prom Theme Voting Seniors do not forget to vote on It s Learning for the Prom Theme, class song and class flower. Voting closes tonight at 11pm. It is under CSHS Class of 2016 on It s Learning.

Menchies Menchies will be on campus for the last time this year. She will be in the back by the busses, Tuesday December 15 from 11:30-12:30. She will be returning after we come back from Christmas break. Remember she takes real money or plastic and for $5 you fill your cup with as much as you want one time. Come support your FCCLA campus chapter.

Winter Ball Get your Winter Formal tickets this week. Tickets are $60 each for dinner and dancing overlooking Clear Lake on January 3. The Formal is to celebrate all juniors and seniors. We have a DJ you won t want to miss, special effect lighting and more. There s only a few more days to get your tickets. We accept cash or checks. Checks should be made out to CSHS Project Graduation. Stop by our table at lunch and get your tickets this week!!

Powder Buff Listen up Junior and Senior Boys! The senior class is bringing a new tradition to Clear Springs...POWDER BUFF, an indoor boys volleyball tourney! We will play on January 21 at 6pm with practices run by the Volleyball girls beforehand. If you are interested you must come get an informational packet from Mrs. Thibs in room 2423. You HAVE TO BRING this packet signed by your parents to the mandatory meeting on January 7 with $15 or you will miss out on your chance to be a part of this GREAT NEW TRADITION!

Springboard Scholars, Springboard has begun! Springboard is an after tutorial, tutorial program. Springboard is in the library every Tuesday and Thursday from 3:15-4:30. You can receive Math and ELA support on Tuesdays and Science support on Thursdays. The best part: all Springboard students can take the Springboard bus home! Pick up an application from any pod secretary. For questions, visit Mr. Clark in room 2519.

Toys for Tots/Tardy ATTENTION STUDENTS! Have you been assigned d-hall because you have too many tardies? Friday is the LAST day to exchange your d-hall for a gift card! Remember, the exchange rate is $5 for each hour of assigned detention. Gift cards must be submitted no later 2:30 tomorrow to your assistant principal and must be accompanied by the receipt showing that the card has been activated. Gift cards must be from Target, Walmart, or Toys R Us.

Coffee Bar Club Club Start earning your way to Free coffee! The Child Nutrition Department would like to announce a new promotion for the Coffee Bar. Next time you purchase an iced coffee, ask your cashier for a Coffee Bar Club Card. Each time you buy an iced coffee, your card will be stamped. Purchase 5 coffees and get your 6th one free!

Lost and Found Reminder, the lost and found office is with Ms. Diaz in the senior pod. Please see Ms. Diaz or Ms. Coates if you have a lost item. Lost and found items in the cafeteria will be collected every Friday. All lost and found items not claimed by the end of each month will be donated to Goodwill. If you have a lost item, please come and describe it so we can reunite you with your sad, lost, and dejected property. It missed you, please come claim it and make it feel loved again.

ACT/SAT Attention Juniors - this is the time to register to take the SAT and ACT. You must register online and at least one month in advance of the testing date. Do not leave the school year without having at least one SAT and/or ACT test before your SENIOR year. Tests are only given at certain times throughout the year and none are administered in the Summer. Please stop by the College Center for a list of test dates and registration deadlines.

Yearbook Name Changes The yearbook staff will use your official first name in the yearbook on your school pictures. If you prefer to have something other than your official name, you MUST complete a request form no later than Monday, December 14 at 2:30. See Mrs. Hairston in Room 1730 before school, after school, at lunch or in between classes.

Student Drivers Student drivers: You do not need to move your cars after school from the back practice lot this week or next week. Student drivers in the Spring designated practice area will resume moving their cars on Tuesday, January 5th. If you are interested in purchasing a parking permit, please pick up the parking application from the pod areas, or the front reception desk. Only student drivers with parking permits are allowed to park on the school campus. Drive safely out there!

Water Polo Tryouts Water Polo Tryouts will be held December 12th at 8 am -11 am at the Clear Springs Swimming pool. To try out you must have a physical on file with the training staff. All athletes planning on trying out should contact Coach Berg in room 1233 or in the swimming pool before or after school. If you are an athlete in season and would like to tryout after your season finishes please contact Coach Berg to arrange an alternate plan to tryout.

Teacher Appreciation Teacher Appreciation night for the Clear Springs Girls Basketball Program is this Friday, December 11th. Teachers, come out to the game so we can recognize your impact on these students and support your Lady Charger Basketball players as they take on the Clear Falls Knights in our district opener. Freshman A will play at 4, Freshman B and JV will play at 5:30 and Varsity will play at 7. Be on the lookout for an invitation in your box showing you have been asked to attend by a player. Students, come out too as we get this season underway!

Bowling The Girls Varsity Bowling Team beat Pearland 13-2. The Boys JV won 15-0. The Boy s Varsity Team put up a good fight but lost 8-7.
