The Breeders of these horses are honored at the Annual Awards Dinner. Certified Nebraska Breds who surpass the $100,000 in lifetime earning are placed on the Honor Roll which is located in the association office at Fonner Park. If the last Review I sent out, came back, I will not be sending another Review unless I receive a new address. Thanks! MARE AND STALLION REPORT INFORMATION FOR 2012 This information is what I have received back from the mare and stallion reports for the year 2012. 33 live foals were born in 2012 84 mares were bred in 2012 107 mares were covered Ne stallions. 11 of the mares were bred to out of state stallions The NTBA wants your e-mail! Please, if you would like correspondence through e-mail with the NTBA please e-mail me your address at ntbai@hotmail.com. I will add you to our contacts. If you have not received our e-mails as of yet, then I probably do not have your current e- mail. The NTBA does not share your e- mail with any other people or organizations.. NEBRASKA BRED HORSES Three Per cent (3%) of the first money of every purse won in Nebraska by a Nebraska Bred Horse shall be deducted from the winning purse and paid to the Breeder of said horse. This applies to ALL RACES. Owners must have Breeder s Certificate on file with the State Racing Commissioner. In addition, as specified in LB 365, a 1% takeout on all Exotic wagering will go into a Breeders Fund and be distributed.

RULES AND REGULATIONS Registration of Broodmares The fee for mare registration is $50. Mares must be registered prior to foaling. If you purchased a mare that was previously registered, you must transfer her into your name. The fee for transferring a mare is $25 If you have a new mare, be sure to get her registered with the Nebraska thoroughbred Registry before she foals in order to have the foal eligible for Nebraska Bred Certification. Only the breeders of Certified Nebraska Breds are eligible to receive Breeders Awards. Registration of Stallions A stallion must be registered with the Nebraska Thoroughbred Registry before he services any mares. The fee for stallion registrations is $50. Certification of Foals One of the biggest problems that occurs for breeders is that they do not get their foals certified early. It is extremely important that you get your Nebraska Bred eligible foals certified now. You will not be able to run your horse in Nebraska Bred races nor will you receive any Breeder s Awards if the foal is not certified prior to entry. The fees are $35 if completed by March 15 of their two year old year; $50 after that date. Please don t wait until the last minute. For Help and Information If you need assistance in the certification of foals or the registration of broodmare and/or stallions, please contact the NTBA Office, PO Box 2215, Grand Island, NE 68802 or call (308) 384-4683. Cell # 308-383-2099. Incomplete Files Incomplete mare registrations and foal certification must be completed. If you have not completed the paper work, contact the office for advise on how to get this done. Remember, mares must be registered before they foal and foals must be certified before they can enter a Nebraska Bred race. Entering Nebraska Breds in Nebraska Bred Races Please be sure your papers are stamped before you enter your horse in a Nebraska Bred Race. There may not be time to certify your Nebraska Bred the morning you are entering if your papers are not in order. This would mean you cannot enter your horse. So please make sure all your paperwork is finished. This is where we are running into some problems. It is not fair to the others who have their horses certified prior to entering. So please, if you are a new Nebraska bred owner, contact me, Linda, in the Breeders office to help you get your paperwork done, or if you have any questions regarding certifying your Nebraska Bred foal. Breeder Awards Money If you are to receive Breeders Award money and have not received them yet, you need to call Carolyn in the bookkeepers office to make sure you have all the information she needs to send you a check. She needs your Social Security number and for you to have a W-9 filled out. NTBA P.O. BOX 2215 GRAND ISLAND, NE 68803
