"Breath of Heaven" Christmas Production 2017 Finale Rehearsal Finale rehearsal is mandatory in order to perform in the finale on production night, as dancers will not learn this piece during their weekly classes. If dancers are not present for finale rehearsal, they will not dance in the finale and will simply remain backstage until after the production. Sparkles, Sunbeams and Warriors will not be involved in this production s finale. "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing" - All dancers in Radiant 1, Guard, Hip Hop 1 and up (with the exception of Sparkles, Sunbeams and Warriors dancers) can participate in this finale dance. The rehearsal for the finale will take place on Saturday, November 18th, 9am-12pm in the Main Sanctuary at Rez Church. For rehearsal, please have dancers come dressed in dance class attire, not their concert costumes, with hair pulled away from the face. We also suggest bringing a water bottle. Tech Rehearsal Tech rehearsal is Tuesday, November 28th starting at 4:00pm in the Main Sanctuary. This is a mandatory rehearsal. No dancer who misses tech or dress rehearsals will be able to perform in the Christmas production. Tech rehearsal is an important time for dancers to learn how to enter and exit during their dance, learn their various spots onstage, and get used to the lighting and media effects. Dancers may leave after their tech time when dismissed by their lead teacher. For lighting purposes, we are having an in-costume tech rehearsal, which includes accessories, tights, shoes, etc. Make-up is not necessary for tech rehearsal, but please make sure your dancer s hair is pulled completely back and away from the face. All dancers must be in full costume, lined up with his/her class on the left side of the stage in the Main Sanctuary, and ready to dance at their scheduled tech time. Lead teachers will be available to help dancers find their classes and spots. Tech Schedule (Order of Production): 3:45pm - Rez Dancers, O Come, O Come, Emmanuel 3:55pm - Chara, Captivate & Revolution, Breath of Heaven 4:15pm - Sparkles A, B & C, O Little Town of Bethlehem/Away in a Manger 4:35pm - Kingdom Dance, What a Beautiful Name

4:45pm - Sozo 1 and 2, Just a Girl 5:00pm - Hip Hop 2, Go Tell It on the Mountain 5:10pm - Radiant 1A, 1B & 1C, Emmanuel (God With Us Forever) 5:30pm - Sunbeams A, Joseph s Lullaby 5:40pm - Hip Hop 3 and 4, Happy Hip Hop Christmas 5:55pm - Jazz 1 and 2, Lift Up Your Eyes 6:10pm - Surrender, King of Heaven 6:20pm - Radiant 2 and 3, Love Came Down 6:35pm - Contemporary, Winter Snow 6:45pm - Warriors & Guard, Little Drummer Boy 7:00pm - Sunbeams B, Believe 7:10pm - Jazz 3, Joy to the World 7:20pm - Sunbeams C, O Come All Ye Faithful 7:30pm - Hip Hop 1, This Christmas 7:40pm - Jazz 4, God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen Dress Rehearsal Dress Rehearsal is Thursday, November 30th starting at 4:00pm in the Main Sanctuary. Dancers must be in full costume with hair and make-up ready before this time, as we will begin finale rehearsals shortly after. As a reminder, if your dancer was not present for finale rehearsals, they will remain backstage in their dressing room during this time. Please drop your child off in their designated dressing room (listed below) and check your child in and out with their assigned Class Mom or Class Dad. There will be signs in Theater 1 indicating where each of those classes is seated. We will not use the check-in kiosks during rehearsals or on production night. Dressing Rooms (same for production night): Arcade (left of Theater 1) - Sparkles, Sunbeams, Warriors, Guard, and Hip Hop GUYS Theater 1 - Sparkles, Sunbeams, Radiant 1, Radiant 2, Radiant 3, and Hip Hop 1 & 2 GIRLS The Cove (right of Theater 1) - Sozo 1, Sozo 2, Surrender, and Hip Hop 3 & 4 LADIES Kidz Clubhouse (upstairs) - Contemporary & Rez Dancers WOMEN Please note: for dancers in Hip Hop 1 and 2 not enrolled in ballet, you will be in Theater 1 with Radiant 1B; for those in Hip Hop 3 and 4 not enrolled in ballet, you will be in The Cove. If you have any questions about your assigned dressing room, please ask your lead teacher.

We would also like to remind everyone that only guys are allowed in the guys' dressing room and only ladies are allowed in the ladies' dressing rooms. If this prevents you from entering your child's dressing room, we will have an assigned staff member that will assist you and your dancer. Dancers must remain in their dressing rooms until the end of rehearsal, so please pack them a quiet activity, clean snacks and a water bottle. Please, no nuts or peanut butter! Dress Rehearsal Schedule: 4:00pm - Dancers Arrive (Sparkles, Sunbeams and Warriors may arrive 4:30pm) 4:30pm - All finale dancers will rehearse Hark! The Herald Angels Sing in Main Sanctuary 5:00pm - Dress Rehearsal Begins (approx. 90 minutes) Production Night The Christmas Production is Friday, December 1st at 7:00pm in the Main Sanctuary. Doors open for guests at 6:30pm. Call Time for dancers is 5:00pm. Please, do not be late! Again, you must check in your dancer with their Class Mom or Class Dad before you leave the dressing room. All dancers must be in full costume, make-up and hair by 6:00pm. Parents are responsible for getting dancers ready, not Class Moms or Dads. We will have a full cast warm-up as a ministry in Theater 1 at 5:30pm. Rez Dance guys, please wait for the "OK" to enter the dressing room for warm-up. Prayer and Announcements will follow at 5:50pm, and dancers must be back in their designated dressing room by 6:15pm. Doors will open for our guests at 6:30pm, and dancers cannot be in the hallways at this time. Please pack your child a quiet activity to work on and/or share with their classmates. Though we have many family members in the Theater 1 dressing room, we do ask that dancers please remain in their assigned area with their class. Also, no running around or rough play in the dressing rooms, and please remember your inside voices. The dressing rooms can get very loud very quickly, and we need dancers and parent volunteers to be able to hear our backstage runners and staff when they call each class to line up. Please pack your child a water bottle and a clean snack and/or dinner, but we ask that you do not pack any food that could be messy. Please, no nuts or peanut butter! We ask that you do not use the restrooms located directly outside of Theater 1 for dressing rooms, as we prefer these to be available for bathroom breaks only. If dancers prefer more privacy in their assigned dressing room, we suggest bringing a blanket to hold up. For those in Theater 1, parent volunteers and dancers are not allowed to go on or behind the stage due to the very sensitive (and expensive) sound and lighting equipment.

All dancers must remain backstage until the end of the production, and no dancer will be allowed to leave early. Backstage will already be very crowded and busy, and we do this for the safety of all our dancers. It is also highly distracting to other audience members when others get up during performances. The Class Moms and Class Dads Team Lead will have the ability to contact you via cell phone if you are ever needed backstage or if there is an emergency. We do ask that you promptly pick up your child after the finale "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing" and please remember to check out your child with their Class Mom or Class Dad before leaving the dressing room. Photography - You are free to take pictures of your dancer from your seat, but please refrain from using flash photography during the production. We also request that you do not leave your seat during performances, as this can affect the video being recorded by Rez Church Media as well as other audience members' viewing experiences. DVD Sales - The Christmas Production will be recorded by our Rez Church Media Department, and DVD's will be available for purchase for $20 per DVD. We will have pre-order forms available through the month of November that you can pick up from lead teachers and during production week, and payment is due at the time your form is submitted. Costumes, Hair, and Make-Up for Dress Rehearsal & Production Night Please have your dancer try on their costume when you get home. If, for any reason, the costume does not fit please contact our Costume Coordinator, Jessica Gonzalez, at missjess.rezdance@gmail.com as soon as possible. If there is an issue with a costume, we would like to begin addressing that issue as soon as possible. We ask that dancers not wear their costumes until rehearsal and production week, as to avoid damage to them, so please keep costumes safely stored until then. Please keep all accessories that came with your costume together, and label all costumes, costume accessories, shoes, etc. with your dancer's name or initials. If unlabeled items are left behind during production week, they will be taken to the Lost and Found, located in the Theater 1 Foyer. Only jewelry that comes with the costume may be worn. No earrings, necklaces, bracelets, etc. If your dancer has just gotten their ears pierced, skin-colored bandages should be placed over the studs; this also protects their earrings from getting snagged. Also, please remove all nail polish before Dress Rehearsal and Concert nights.

Dancers that need tights, black leggings, black cap-sleeve leotards, and shoes can visit Carol Beard at Encore Dance Emporium in Loveland. When visiting Carol for your dance apparel, let her know that you are with Rez Dance and she can direct you to the correct styles and colors that are needed for performances. Also, when you let her know that you are with Rez Dance, a percentage of those sales will also be donated to the Rez Dance Ministry. Please make sure your dancer's hair is pulled completely back, away from the face and off the neck in a bun, tucked braids, or, for those with short hair, pinned back. Use hairspray or gel to keep hair firmly in place. If your dancer's costume includes a hair accessory, please ask the lead teacher where to place the clip or pin. The lighting on stage is very bright, so in order to keep your dancer from looking washed out we recommend that you use a little blush, eye shadow, and red or pink lipstick. Lip liner used all over the lips works well for the younger dancers because it does not smear as easily. Dancers will need to be dressed with hair and make-up done before Call Times on Dress Rehearsal and Production nights. Production Volunteers We have a number of areas where we need help every year during productions and performances. Volunteering is a requirement to participating in Rez Dance, and we ask that every Rez Dance family gets involved in some way. We hope that you recognize what a gift the Rez Dance Ministry is and are ready and eager to volunteer. Rez Dance offers its services at a very low cost and continues to need the help of volunteers to help our ministry function. The teachers and staff of Rez Dance would like to express our deepest gratitude that you would offer your time to volunteer for this year s Christmas Production. With so many dancers, it takes a large number of volunteers to help us make this production a success. Know that you are held most valuable to us during this time, and we really could not do this without you! During our Christmas Production, there are multiple areas of need for parent volunteers... Set Up & Tear Down Crew (Thursday and Friday): One team will be needed to help set up our dressing rooms, backstage area, and Main Sanctuary on Thursday afternoon. A second team will be needed after the production to help tear down the stage and backstage area once all dancers have left.

Class Moms and Class Dads (Thursday and Friday): You provide dancers a safe, respectful and loving environment backstage and in the dressing rooms. You are paired up with another parent to keep your dancers in their designated area of the dressing room, place dancers in their spots before lining up to go onstage, and escort dancers to and from the stage with the help of our Backstage Runner. Greeters (Friday): You are the first face that guests see as they arrive on production night! You ultimately set the friendly and welcoming environment of the night by providing a helping hand to direct guests to the Main Sanctuary. You may also be handing out concert programs to guests. Ushers (Friday): You help with the flow of traffic before and after the concert. You will be working with the Greeters Team to help elderly or handicapped guests find easily accessible seats, and you will also be permitted to ask guests to move in order to make more seats available. Your assistance will also be needed when taking up the offering. After the production, please help our Custodial Staff clear the chairs of items left behind. If you have not yet signed up to volunteer for this production, please check your email for a message that includes the volunteer sign-up lists. All spots are available on a first-come, firstserve basis. If your preferred choice has been filled, we encourage you to volunteer for another position because all volunteer needs are vital to us running a successful production. If you have any questions about volunteering with Rez Dance, please contact our Outreach Coordinator, Sara Hoppe, at shoppe@rez.church for more information.
