Welcome to Run or Dye! We re thrilled that you re getting set for Run or Dye! This info pack contains all the important details you need to make sure you have the most colourific day of your life! 1. Getting Here WHERE: Penshurst Place, Kent, TN11 8DG WHEN: Sunday 2 nd July (08:00am 13:00pm) 1 st Wave Start at 10.00am PUBLIC TRANSPORT We recommend you avoid public transport to this event. However, the venue is a 6-7.5 mile taxi journey from Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells Stations. PARKING Fee of 10 on arrival. There is limited parking on site and we are trying to keep car numbers down as much as possible. Please car share of you can please leave plenty of time as entry gates are restricted onto the site. Gates open from 8.00am. NOTE: There will be a reserved disabled car parking zone closer to registration tent. Please ensure your blue disabled badge is visible. 2. Event Day Information Runners will be sent off in multiple groups between 10.00 and 10.30am EVENT DAY SCHEDULE: 08:00 Packet Pick-up opens 09:30 Pre Run Festival Kick s off! 10:00 The Run Begins! 11:00 Last wave of runners & Dye festival start! 13:00 The Dye festival ends 13:00 The site closes PLAN AHEAD Runners are sent off in the following order; VIP Front Runners, 10K Runners, 5K Runners and finally 3.5K runners. Within the different groups you will be set off on a first come first serve basis so plan your morning accordingly. If you are planning on doing more walking or dancing than running rather than aiming for a personal best, please join a later wave and let the faster runners set off first! COURSE AND COLOUR STATIONS Dye stations are at every 1KM. Our DYE Crew will be ready to administer Random Acts of DYE. If you d rather dance, walk or jog slowly, no problem just join the back of the start queue. DYE FESTIVAL At the end of the course, head over to the stage for the DYE Festival. Our MCs will be blasting more DYE out with music and colour so you can dance, party, play...and of course throw tonnes of colour all over your family and friends!
3. Packet Pick-up!! Please print out your confirmation email and hand it in at the registration desk on your arrival!! Can t find it? Try searching your inbox for Registration confirmation for Run or Dye, 2nd July or search your junk folders. Before you arrive at the event: You must have signed the waiver electronically. This would normally happen during online registration. If you haven t signed it yet, please do so by signing into your My Active account HERE. You can also find this link at the bottom of your confirmation email. Please print out the confirmation email. Here are a few reminders about your packet pick up: Before you run you need to pick up your race number and goody bag! You may pick up packets on behalf of your family, friends or teammates but be sure they have signed their waivers first! If you are under the age of 16 you MUST have a parent or guardian with you through registration and throughout the Run course. (maximum of 4 children per adult supervision) Packet Pick-Up Location: Packet Pick-Up / Registration will be near the stage/start line. Look out for our GREEN FLAGS marked registration you won t miss them! Date / Time Packet Pick Up: Packet Pick-Up / Registration will take place from 8:00AM 10:00AM on Sunday 2 nd July. Please make sure you arrive in plenty of time as there may be queues to pick up your packet.
4. Venue & Course WHERE: Penshurst Place, Kent, TN11 8DG TERRAIN All the runs are around the Penshurst Place Estate, so please expect the route to be grassy, undulating and the sights to be stunning! The course will be signed with arrows so there s no way you ll get lost! There will be a water station on course as well as DYE stations to get you as multicoloured as possible WHEN: Sunday 2 nd July (08:00am 13:00pm) 5K COURSE 3.5K COURSE CUTS THROUGH HERE 2 BAG DROP in the event village LITTER Please respect this beautiful venue. We ask that you throw away empty DYE packets, body art packets, water bottles and other litter in the bins provided and make sure that others do the same! DOGS Spectators are welcome to bring well-behaved dogs on leads to the event. If you want to run with your dog please keep to the back of the pack for your particular distance.
5. Photography Personal Pics We would love to see all your pictures from the event by using our official hash tag #RunOrDyeUK, by getting snap happy on the day you will also be in the chance to win a Special Goody Bag! Official Pictures There will also be official Run or Dye photographers around the course capturing the special moments and memories on camera. We will email you post event with instructions on how to find your images. KEEP YOUR RACE BIB, IT MAY COME IN HANDY TO FIND YOUR PICTURES ON OUR WEBSITE
6. Charity Run or Dye is committed to making the world a more colourful place. We would not be a success without the help of our charity partners lots of marshals and we would welcome your support for their amazing work. We re delighted to announce the Kiss it Better appeal in support of Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity as our official 2017 charity partner for the second year running. The Kiss it Better appeal raises vital funds for research into the causes and treatment of childhood cancer. Run or Dye helped raise over 25,000 pounds for the amazing cause in 2016. 7. General Information WHAT TO WEAR At Run or DYE you re the canvas so wear whatever you want! Lots of runners wear white to show off all the colour while others come dressed in crazy costumes. Just remember, whatever you wear will get covered in coloured DYE and while our DYE is designed to be washable, we don t do your laundry. So wear something you don t mind getting a little colourful! WEATHER We will hold Run or DYE as scheduled even if it is raining! However, our first priority is your safety and there may be occasions such as high wind or lightning- that will postpone the run. If the weather looks threatening as we lead up to the event, keep your eyes on our Facebook page and your email for updates. DO NOT LEAVE BAGS UNATTENDED: Any bags left unattended will be immediately confiscated by event security! A 2 Bag Drop will be available on the day SAFETY DRINK PLENTY OF WATER: Be sure to drink plenty of water before, during and after the race. Runners receive a drink at the finish line, but we strongly suggest that you bring your own to stay hydrated before and during the event as well. USE COMMON SENSE WHEN THROWING DYE: Don t throw DYE directly in peoples faces, don t throw DYE at babies or at service animals and don t throw DYE at photographers with expensive equipment. If you see anyone throwing DYE inappropriately please report it to a member of staff. REPORT SUSPICIOUS BEHAVIOR OR PEOPLE WHO LOOK LIKE THEY NEED ASSISTANCE: Run or DYE participants are the best on the planet and we ve never had any problems at any of our events. Still, if you see anyone acting suspiciously or endangering others please report it to a volunteer or staff member. If you happen to run past someone who seems to be struggling or appear they need medical assistance, let a volunteer know so that we can get them the help they might need.
8. Partners The KISS IT BETTER appeal, in support of Great Ormond Street Hospital Children s Charity, raises vital funds for research into the causes and treatment of childhood cancer. GOSHCC is the UK s largest dedicated charitable funder of medical research into children s health, helping to save young lives every day. Fear of judgment is stopping many of us from taking part in exercise. But, as thousands of women up and down the country are proving, it really doesn t have to. This Girl Can is a national campaign developed by Sport England and a wide range of partnership organisations. It's a celebration of active women up and down the country who are doing their thing no matter how well they do it, how they look or even how red their face gets!
