SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES 2013 2014 Run, Walk, Honor Pat s Run is the signature fundraising event for the Pat Tillman Foundation. Held annually in April at Sun Devil Stadium, the event attracts more than 35,000 participants, volunteers and spectators from across the country. Together they Run, Walk and Honor Pat s memory while raising important funds to support the scholarship programs created in his name. From the inaugural run held in 2005 with nearly 5,000 participants, the event has seen unprecedented growth each year and the 4.2 mile run has reached capacity with 28,000 participants making it the largest race in Arizona. Created in 2008, the program provides educational resources and financial support to veterans and their spouses to bridge the gaps left by the Post 9/11 GI Bill. To date, 290 Tillman Military Scholars attending over 90 academic institutions nationwide have been awarded nearly $4.1 million in scholarships. Since its inception, the Pat Tillman Foundation has invested more than $9.2 million in program support to help scholars continue their service both in and out of uniform. FINISH LINE EXPO 4 26 14 Pat s Run is the signature fundraising event for the Pat Tillman Foundation. Pat s Run is held in late April to commemorate the day that Pat lost his life in Afghanistan. Symbolic of #42 he wore as an ASU Sun Devil, Pat s Run is 4.2 miles long, ending on the 42-yard line of Frank Kush Field inside Sun Devil Stadium. From the first event held in 2005 with nearly 5,000 participants, Pat s Run has grown into the largest run in the Valley. For the past three years, Pat s Run has had over 35,000 participants representing all 50 states uniting to Run, Walk and Honor at Sun Devil Stadium. Participants raise money for the Tillman Military Scholars program, which provides scholarships to U.S. military veterans and spouses who reflect Pat s values, strength of character, and commitment to service. To date, 290 Tillman Military Scholars from 34 states and attending 90 academic institutions nationwide have been awarded over $4.1 million. With proceeds generated at Pat s Run, the Foundation has invested over $9 million in educational support since its inception in 2004.
