Miller Race 1 KILMORE DENTAL AND SPECIALIST CENTRE F & M 0-58 HANDICAP - 1450 metres: Pure Fun was slow into stride. Subtract over-raced in the early and middle stages. V. Duric rider of Pure Fun stated that his mount did not feel right in its action and for this reason he elected to ease his mount down over the final 300 metres. A subsequent veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Race 2 THE KILMORE & DISTRICT HOSPITAL DAY ONCOLOGY UNIT MAIDEN PLATE - 1100 metres: After being loaded into its barrier stall King Jed became fractious. As a result King Jed was removed from its barrier, examined by the Club s Veterinary Surgeon and passed fit to start. Due to this the start of the race was delayed slightly. Whistle Baby began awkwardly. After beginning awkwardly Tactical Miss, which had been brushed by Sopraffina, then shifted out taking Costa Plenty out on to Goddess Of War.
Do Not Go Gentle, Tactical Miss and Costa Plenty raced greenly for the majority of the race. Near the 900 metres Tactical Miss shifted in and away from Do Not Go Gentle and as a result bumped heavily with Sopraffina. Near the 700 metres Royal Couture raced up on to the heels of Sopraffina and was steadied and shifted out, resulting in Beau Crusader being carried wider on the track for a short distance. Shortly after this incident Costa Plenty was steadied and shifted out to avoid the heels of Royal Couture resulting in King Jed being carried wider on the track. As a result King Jed raced three wide without cover for the remainder of the race. From the 400 metres until approaching the 200 metres Costa Plenty was held up and unable to obtain clear running. King Jed laid in under pressure in the early part of the home straight. Passing the 200 metres Costa Plenty attempted a narrow run between Tactical Miss and Beau Crusader and in doing so brushed the hind quarters of Beau Crusader, resulting in that gelding being turned inwards and at the same time Tactical Miss shifted out abruptly whilst racing greenly, resulting in Costa Plenty being checked when disappointed for the run, and shifting out abruptly, which resulted in King Jed being hampered and carried wider at this point. As the Stewards were not satisfied that this incident was the fault of any rider no action was taken. A post race veterinary examination of King Jed revealed no abnormalities. Race 3 BLUECROSS COMMUNITY AND RESIDENTIAL SERVICES MAIDEN PLATE - 1900 metres: Subsequent to the running of Race 2 the connections of Always And Always advised Stewards that it was their intention to have the mare ridden off the speed with cover today, a change to its most recent race tactics. Always And Always which had been racing four wide without cover in the early stages, strode forward and obtained a position near the lead near the 1100 metres. Prior to the start of the race Al Command threw its head up and contacted its rider O. Murphy in the face. Following the race O. Murphy was examined by the Club Doctor and passed fit to fulfil his remaining engagements. Slew Left began awkwardly unbalancing its rider. Riviera Riches raced wide in the early stages before being permitted by its rider to stride forward and settle outside the leader passing the 1200 metres. Al Command raced three wide without cover from the 1000 metres. Passing the 500 metres Capsized was steadied and carried wider to avoid the heels of Always And Always which had commenced to weaken. Approaching the 200 metres Devil s Vibe when attempting a tight run to the inside of Master Me had to be restrained off that gelding s heels when it shifted in slightly. Passing the 200 metres Capsized and Riviera Riches bumped resulting in Capsized shifting outwards carrying Al Command wider on the track.
A post race veterinary examination of Always And Always, which had commenced to weaken from the 600 metres and was eased out of the race in the straight, revealed no abnormalities. Race 4 F R (FRANK) KING MEMORIAL 0-58 HANDICAP - 1900 metres: Lilmissindependent stood flatfooted on jumping and lost ground (4 lengths). Ms. R. Smith trainer of Lilmissindependent was notified the mare must trial to satisfaction of Stewards at which time it must gain approval to race, prior to accepting for its next race start. Play Again began awkwardly. B. Knobel rider of Toolachee stated his mount felt sore in front and for this reason he eased it down over the concluding stages. A subsequent veterinary examination revealed the gelding was lame in the off fore leg. Mr. K. Smith trainer of Toolachee was notified he must be in receipt of a Veterinary Certificate for the gelding prior to racing again. Subsequent to the running of this race the Club s Doctor examined L. Coffey, who struck his foot when leaving the barriers in this race. L. Coffey does not require a Medical Certificate prior to riding again. Race 5 BROWNS SAWDUST AND SHAVINGS SUPPLIES BM64 HANDICAP - 1100 metres: Thisgoingsomewhere began awkwardly and lost ground. Canbrada began awkwardly, shifted out taking Ravir out on to Excell Shoes, which had to be restrained as a result. Danger Close knuckled shortly after the start. Danger Close raced ungenerously in the early and middle stages. Near the 800 metres Danger Close raced up on to the heels of Excell Shoes and shifted out resulting in Isolation being carried wider. Thisgoingsomewhere raced three wide without cover throughout. Passing the 600 metres Excell Shoes shifted outwards to avoid the heels of Ravir resulting in Danger Close being carried wider on the track. As a result Danger Close raced wide without cover for the remainder of the race. Canbrada over-raced during the middle stages. From the 500 metres until passing the 200 metres Canbrada was held up and unable to obtain clear running. Race 6 THE KILMORE & DISTRICT HOSPITAL MATERNITY SERVICES UNIT 0-58 HANDICAP - 1600 metres: Red Rossa which was having its first start since February 2012, was examined by the Club s Veterinary Surgeon after arriving on course and passed fit to race. Foreign Embassy began awkwardly. Over the final 400 metres The Cotch was badly held up and unable to gain clear running at any stage and as a result went to the line untested.
D. Holland rider of Flash Cadillac stated that in his opinion the gelding did not appreciate today s firm track conditions. A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding was sore in front. Ms A. Blackburn was notified she must be in receipt of a Veterinary Certificate for the gelding prior to racing again. J. Benbow rider of Foreign Embassy could offer no explanation for the disappointing performance of the gelding. A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding was coughing. Race 7 HAPPY BIRTHDAY ISAAC BM70 HANDICAP - 1450 metres: Prior to correct weight R. Wheeler rider of fourth placegetter St Chloe, viewed the photo finish for third before being satisfied with the judges placings. Correct weight was then declared. As the start was affected De Mars bounded away brushing the outside of the barrier and lost ground. On jumping away Lonhreign and Donarchie were both steadied when crowded between Are There Any and You Tell Me, which began awkwardly and shifted out abruptly. Near the 1300 metres Eight Cards and Lonhreign were both crowded by Donarchie, which shifted ground inwards despite the efforts of its rider. Following the incident Eight Cards commenced to over-race for some distance during the middle stages. Passing the 1200 metres De Mars, which was trapped wide without cover, was allowed to stride forward by its rider and obtain a position outside the leader near the 1000 metres. Passing the 800 metres You Tell Me was eased to avoid the heels of Righteous Ruler (M. Allen) which shifted in when not quite clear. M. Allen was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances. Approaching and rounding the home turn Are There Any, St Chloe and Donarchie were all held up and had difficulty obtaining clear running. Near the 150 metres Donarchie was steadied and shifted to the outside of the heels of De Mars, which was weakening, to continue to improve.
