(1st Season - Indiana 12) TIP OFF The Weber State women s basketball team continues their post season journey with the championship game of the Women s Basketball Invitational tournament traveling to Lafayette, LA to take on the Ragin Cajun Saturday, March 26 at 3 p.m. Weber State has posted a 23-11 record which is the winningest season in school history. Weber State is coming off a 79-53 win over USC Upstate in the semi-final round of the WBI. Weber State is currently ranked No.17 in the country in steals per game with a 10.5 steals per game average and No. 10 in total steals with 358 on the season which is the second highest in school history for steals in a single season. Weber State is ranked No. 27 in the country in 3-point FG s made with a 258 made buckets from beyond the arc which is the most made 3-pointers in school history in a single season. Weber State is currently ranked No. 21 in the country in turnover margin with a 4.64 value and No. 22 in the country in turnovers forced. WSU averages 19.82 forced turnovers a game. Brittney Dunbar is ranked No. 7 nationally in steals per game averaging 3.12 a game. She is also ranked No. 5 in the country in steals with 103 on the season. Deeshyra Thomas, Kailie Quinn and Brittney Dunbar are the only three Wildcats to start all 33 games for Weber State. Kailie Quinn has made 130 three pointers this season which is the ninth most career three pointers in school history. Regina Okoye has missed 15 out of the last16 games for the Wildcats. Despite her absence, she still remains the Wildcats leading scorer averaging 16.2 points per game. She also remains the team s top rebounder averaging 6.7 boards a game. The Wildcats took down the New Mexico Lobos 75-67. Second time in school history to make a post season tournament other than the Big Sky and NCAA Championships, the last time was in 1982-83 at the Women s NIT. This is the second time in school history the Wildcats have played on March 23. The first time was in 2002-03 at the NCAA Tournament Championships. Weber State has made two NCAA Tournament appearances in 2002 and 2003. Weber State has won two Big Sky tournament titles, capturing back-to-back championships in 2002 and 2003. This is her seventh time putting up 20 or more points this season. Against North Dakota she put up 30 points. Which was her second time putting up 30 or more points this season. Against the Fighting Hawks, Thomas came up with the rebound that gave the Wildcats the final possession of the game. She also made the layup that pushed WSU to the 76-74 win over UND. Against New Mexico she had the game high with 20 points. She also had seven rebounds and three assists. This was the 20th game Thomas has scored in double figures and the fifth time scoring 20 or more points in a game this season. She s scored in double figures 21 out of the last 24 games. Thomas has scored 20 or more points in the last four consecutive games. Throughout the course of the WBI tournament she s averaged 23 points a game for 70 total points in three games. QUINN THE QUEEN OF THREES In Kailie Quinn s second game as a freshman in 2014-15 she drained five buckets from beyond the arc for 21 total points. She set the bar high for herself and it was only a matter of time before she started breaking records for made 3-point field goals and that s exactly what she s done. With her four made threes against New Mexico and four made threes against North Dakota and four made threes against USC Upstate Quinn has broken into the top 10 career records and moved her way up in 3-point field goals made. She now sits at No. 9 in school history in career made three point field goals. Quinn has amassed 134 career threes in 63 games as a Wildcat. She s drained 95 this season alone, which is tied for second best in school history for threes made in a single season. Quinn has made four or more three pointers in three consecutive games and has made four or more from beyond the arc in 12 different games this season. SERIES HISTORY - LOUISIANA This will be the first ever meeting between the University of Louisiana and Weber State.

HEAD COACH BETHANN ORD Overall Record (4 seasons: 2011- pesent) Overall: 42-106 (.283) Conference: 22-73 (.231) Bethann Shapiro Ord is beginning her fifth seeason as head coach of the Weber State women s basketball team. Ord was named head coach of the Wildcats in May of 2011 after a long career as an assistant coach. She is the fifth head coach in WSU women s basketball history. Ord came to WSU with 22 years of coaching experience. Before coming to Weber State she spent four seasons as an assistant coach at the University of Louisville. At Louisville, Ord was instrumental in the Cardinals signing three top 15 recruiting classes and one in the top five. She also helped bring two high school All-Americans to Louisville. A native of Rochester, Ord earned her bachelor s degree in psychology from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County in 1989. She was a three-year letterwinner and starting point guard for the Retrievers. She earned a Master s degree in Elementary Education from Wagner College in 1992. The Ord File Louisville - Assist. Coach (2007-2011) ABOUT LOUISIANA The Ragin Cajun are 24-10 overall on the season and ended the year with a 14-3 Sun Belt Conference record. Louisiana is coming off a 69-49 win over Youngstown State in the semi-final round of the WBI. The Ragin Cajun average 63.1 points per game and allows 56 points per game. Louisiana are coming into Saturday s game shooting 41 percent from the field, 28 from the three and 69 percent from the free throw line. The Ragin Cajun are ranked No. 8 nationally for turnover margin with a 5.94 value. Louisiana is led by Keke Veal who averages 17.3 points per game. She shoots 40 percent from the field, 30 percent from the three and 74 percent from the free throw line. Kia Wilridge is the Ragin Cajun s top rebounder averaging 5.2 boards per game and has amassed 177 total on the season. PREVIOUSLY IN WSU ACTION Against North Dakota in the WBI: Weber State came from behind to take down North Dakota 76-74 in the final seconds of the game to advance the Wildcats to the final four of the WBI Tournament. Deeshyra Thomas sunk a three pointer to give the Wildcats a 74-72 lead with just 1:53 left in the game. A layup by UND s Mia Lloyd tied the game up with 45 seconds left. With 11 seconds on the clock Lloyd missed a jumper that was rebounded by Thomas. After a Wildcat timeout Thomas made a layup with three seconds left to give the Wildcats a 76-74 victory over the Fighting Hawks. Thomas led the Wildcats with 30 points. The second time this season Thomas has scored 30 or more points in a game. Kailie Quinn had 24 points for the Wildcats going 4-6 from beyond the arc. Jaiamoni Welch-Coleman also scored in double figures putting up 10 for the Wildcats. Jocelyn Adams had the game high of nine rebounds. Brittney Dunbar had a game high of seven assists and six steals. Weber State shot 47.7 from the field, 36 percent from the three and 87 percent from the free throw line. North Dakota shot 50 percent from the field, 50 percent from the three and 83 percent from the free throw line. UND had 35 rebounds to WSU s 32. Weber State only had nine turnovers to North Dakota s 12. Against USC Upstate in the WBI: Thomas led the Wildcats with 20 points, her seventh time scoring 20 or more points in a game. Brittney Dunbar and Drake each had 17 points. Drake had shot 5-6 from the beyond the arc while Dunbar added seven assists and three steals. Quinn had her first double-double of the season with 12 points with four made three pointers and a career high of 10 rebounds. The Wildcats shot 53 percent from the field going 30-56. The Wildcats also had 11 made buckets from beyond the arc for 47 percent and they shot 53 percent from the free throw line. The Spartans shot 33 percent from the field, 14 percent from the three and 78 percent from the free throw line. Upstate s Brittany Starling had 15 points and 14 rebounds which was her 21st double-double on the year. Kirsten Dickerson and the Spartans game high of 21 points.
