This venue will make it easier for teams to access and also provide a wealth of amenities in the immediate vicinity of the venue. In previous years we have had the great pleasure to welcome teams from Afghanistan, Austria, Bahrain, Belgium, Chinese Taipei, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, England, Finland, Germany, Greece, Iceland, India, Ireland, Isle of Man, Israel, Lithuania, The Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Russia and The USA as well as a number of WTF International referees from around the world. Contestants Eligibility: All players and coaches must hold a valid WTF style licence issued by their association. This must be presented at the weigh-in. This event is open to anyone from any association from any country. Contestants must provide proof of age by presenting their passport or identification card at the weigh-in. WTF GAL licence is not required for this event Liability: All competitors participate at their own risk. The organisers or Taekwondo Association Scotland Limited will not accept any responsibility for any injuries, damages or losses sustained or incurred. Graduation: All players must be a minimum 9th Kup to compete. VISA: Due to strict border controls in the UK and previous abuses of our hospitality, we are only able to provide teams with a letter stating acceptance of their registration to compete. We will not send out any special invitations to travelling teams. Please quote team name in transfer reference. Rules: WTF single elimination rules Scoring: Daedo PSS in all categories on all days Match TaekoPlan match management will be used. All coaches will receive a list of Management: their players match numbers at the coach meetings. Equipment: All players must provide their own Daedo sensor socks. All players will be provided with a Daedo electronic hogu before each of their matches. Players must provide all other WTF approved protective equipment. Gum shields are compulsory for all players and must be white or clear. Players with any other colours will not be allowed to compete Head kicks: Full contact head kicks are permitted in all categories except Veterans. For pee wee, children, cadet, junior and senior divisions there are NO restrictions on head contact with the feet. All head kicks are permitted. In veteran divisions, head contact is allowed, however the use of excessive force or kicks with attempted excessive force to the head will be penalised by kyong-go or gam-jeon and in extreme cases may result in disqualification. Awards: 1 Gold, 1 Silver and 2 bronze medals awarded in every division. The two players who reach the final will receive the gold and silver medal regardless if one player retires prior to the match. Team 1st, 2nd and 3rd Team trophy will be awarded to the teams with the highest Awards: cumulative points total across both competition days following the WTF team scoring system of Gold 7pts, Silver 3pts, Bronze 1pt, matches won (not by withdrawal of opponent) 1pt Match Times: Pee Wee 3 x 1 Minute with 30 seconds rest Children 3 x 1½ Minutes with 30 seconds rest Cadet 3 x 1½ Minutes with 30 seconds rest Junior 3 x 2 Minutes with 45 seconds rest Senior 3 x 2 Minutes with 45 seconds rest Veteran 3 x 1 ½ Minutes with 30 seconds rest Video Replay: Each coach shall be allocated with one appeal to request an instant video replay per contest. If the appeal is successful the coach shall retain the right to appeal for the pertinent contest. In the course of the event, there is no limit to the total number of appeals a coach has the right to make per contestant. However, if the coach has an appeal rejected, they will lose the right to appeal in that match. Each player will have a quota of 2 video replay appeals for the competition with an additional quota given in the final match. Only the WTF International referees in attendance will be allowed to make video replay decisions in accordance with the WTF rules article 21 Coaches: 1 Coach pass will be issued for every 5 players in a team. Breakfast lunch and dinner will be provided courtesy of the organising committee on these dates. Also we will provide return transport from either Glasgow or Edinburgh International airports. In addition, we will pay a per diem 50 to each International referee for each competition day. 11 th Scottish Open Poomse Information pack Time & Place Date: Saturday 26 th of November 2016 Location: Glasgow, Scotland Venue: Glasgow Club Bellahouston, Bellahouston Drive, Glasgow, G52 1HH Timetable Registration will be held at Glasgow Club Bellahouston Sports Centre from 830am Matches begin at 10.30am Method of Competition The cut off system will be used to determine the finalists. Medals will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and two 3rd places. No electronic scoring displays will be available at this event. Matches will be overseen by IR referees where possible and we ask coaches and parent respect the decisions of the judges. This is development standard poomse competition. Players will be asked to perform two poomse in each round. One will be from the compulsory list and the other of the players choosing. Entry is by attached spreadsheet submitted by coaches. Entry cannot be done via TPSS and must be done by spread sheet. Fees are 25 per division entered. 12 every division thereafter. On completion of Individual matches, the champion of each category will compete for B-Class and A-Class overall champion. For example, winner of Female Pee Wee, Child, Cadets, Junior, Senior, Veterans categories in A-class will compete against each other for best Female in class. The overall winners of both B-class and A-class male and female categories will then compete for the title of 11 th Scottish Open Poomsae Tournament Champion. Divisions may be combined if the number of participant is low. This will be decided on the day. 2. Pairs The pair s competition is mixed ages and gender. B class A class 3. Other hotels: There are a number of other hotels in and around Glasgow City Centre and at Glasgow Airport. Any hotel in these areas will be 10/15 minutes drive to the venue. Travel Flights: Glasgow International airport is accessible by most major airlines and is only a 10 minute drive from the competition venue. Easyjet is the most popular budget airline flying from many European destinations. Edinburgh Internationalis 45 minutes drive from the competition venue. Edinburgh airport is also serviced by most major European airlines including Lufthansa, BMI, KLM, Easyjet and Ryanair. There are regular rail and bus services from Edinburgh to Glasgow. Glasgow Prestwick is 45 minutes drive to the competition venue although it does have a frequent inexpensive rail link to Glasgow city centre where there are a variety of travel options to the competition venue. All London airports and also Dublin airport can be easily accessed from most major European destinations. From all London airports or Dublin airport it is very easy and not expensive to get connecting flights to Glasgow or Edinburgh international airports Rail Travel: The closest railway station is Cardonald Train Station which is only 1 mile from the competition venue and easily accessed from Glasgow Central Train Station. Road Travel: The competition venue is immediately next to J23 and J24 of the M8 motorway in Glasgow which is easily accessed from all major routes in all directions.
