Portable DGA (Dissolved Gas Analyzer) Model PGA-300 TECHNICAL SHEET - 1-
1. Outline and Introduction The portable in-oil gas analyzer is a primary diagnosis equipment which is used to prevent serious troubles and designed to detect internal abnormal phenomena of transformer early by measuring the concentration of gases CO, H 2, CH 4, C 2 H 2, C 2 H 4, C 2 H 6.and the total concentration of combustible gases (TCG). After sample oil taken from transformer is set in the oil vessel, a sequence of operations, namely extraction of dissolved gas from the oil, detection of gas, and quantitative determination of gas, is executed automatically. The result of measurement is obtained as analysis data after about 15 minutes. The PGA-300 has the following advantages. (1) Measuring of TCG and 6 component gases The analyzer has the gas detecting ability which is necessary for the detection and diagnosis of incipient transformer abnormality. This analyzer equipped with a special separating column to separate component gases and 4 kinds of sensors having different gas detection characteristics is capable of measuring the total combustible gas concentration (TCG) and the concentration of gases CO, H 2, CH 4, C 2 H 2, C 2 H 4, and C 2 H 6. (2) High sensitivity of the C 2 H 2 (Acetylene) The analyzer can detect very low concentration of C 2 H 2 (Acetylene) even though it s concentration is 0.5ppm in transformer oil. C 2 H 2 (Acetylene) is the key gas for detection of transformer abnormality since it is the characteristic gas produced in occurrence of partial discharge and high temperature local heating in oil immersed transformer. (3) Sampling oil amount is small. The quantity of oil to be taken for analysis is as small as 50 ml. (4) Quick measurement is ensured. Since the result of measurement can be obtained about 15 minutes after start of measurement, quick diagnosis is ensured. (5) Equipped with sophisticated man-machine interface The operator-operation panel interaction system ensures easy measurement. The result of measurement is indicated on the LCD. (6) Compact size and light for carry The analyzer is so compact and light that it can be easily carried to the measuring site. (7) Database can be made on the personal computer by using the attached Data Management Program which performs data communication via USB serial port, data acquisition and diagnosis. - 2-
