RULES OF THE 16TH PZU CRACOVIA MARATHON I. ORGANIZER The 16th PZU Cracovia Marathon is organized by the Municipality of Krakow Sports Infrastructure Management Board of Krakow. II. DATE AND PLACE 1. 16. PZU Cracovia Marathon will be held on April 30th, 2017 in Krakow. 2. The start will take place at the Main Square of Krakow at 9:00 a.m. 3. The starting gate will be closed at 9:30 a.m. Start after this time will not be possible. 4. The finish of the 16. PZU Cracovia Marathon will be located at the Main Square of Krakow. 5. The Office of the Race will be located in the entrance hall under the eastern stand of the Henryk Reyman City Stadium ("Wisła Kraków" Stadium) at Reymonta Street 20. Opening days: 27.04.2017 between 3:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. 28.04.2017 between 3:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. 29.04.2017 between 10:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. On the date of the race 30.04.2017, the Office of the Race will be closed. III. ROUTE 1. Distance of the route of marathon: 42 195 m. The route has got PZLA, AIMS and IAAF certificates. 2. Participants are required to finish the route within 6 hours, that is until 3:00 p.m. 3. Each kilometre along the route will be marked from 1 to 42. 4. Participants shall be required to gather in starting zones (based on the declared time submitted as part of the participant application) in the following order of distance from the start line: <3:00:00 3:00:01-3:30:00 3:30:01-3:45:00 3:45:01-4:00:00 04:00:01-4:15:00 04:15:01-4:30:00 04:30:01-5:00:00 05:00:01-5:30:00 05:30:01-6:00:00 5. Nutrition stations will be located every 5 kilometres. On tables there will be: cups with still mineral water, cups with isotonic drink, fruit, lump sugar, chocolate. Note! The Organizer does not accept competitors' private food supplements. 6. Freshen-up stations will be located every 5 km, starting from the 7.5th kilometre, and will be equipped with fresh water bowls and cups with still mineral water on the tables. 7. Medical assistance points will be located behind every hydration station and will be staffed by paramedics. Behind the medical assistance points toilet cabins will be located.

IV. TERMS OF PARTICIPATION 1. To take part in the 16 th PZU Cracovia Maraton, the Participant shall fill the application form and pay the entry fee until the 29 th April 2017 at 8:00 p.m at the latest. 2. The 16 th PZU Cracovia Marathon is open to people who are at least 18 years old as of 30 th April 2016. 3. Competitor is required to make a declaration that he/she healthy enough to participate in the race. 4. In the 16 th PZU Cracovia Marathon, time will be measured with the use of an electronic time measurement system. During verification, each competitor will be given a chip built into the race number. Correct fixing of chip is a prerequisite to entry the marathon and to be ranked in the final communication of race. 5. To be able to be classified, competitor is required to run the approved route of the marathon and finish it within 6 h. 6. Participants who run contrary to the rules will be disqualified. 7. Those Participants who do not finish the race until 3:00 p.m. shall stop running and leave the course and they may reach the finish line by car with the The end of the marathon sign. Whoever decides to continue running after the time limit has passed, does so on his/her own responsibility pursuant to the regulations on road traffic and the provisions of the Polish Civil Code. 8. During the race, participants are required to adhere to the instructions of the people responsible for safety, event safety services, and people acting on behalf of the Organizer. 9. It is prohibited to use any vehicles during the race, except those used by disabled participants in wheelchairs and the vehicles of the Organizer. Running with animals is not allowed either. 10. It is prohibited to entry the race when being drunk or intoxicated with other abusive substances. 11. The Organizer does not insure race participants against the risk of accident. 12. Handing one s starting number over to another person will result in disqualification of the Participant. 13. Participants disqualified in other running events do not have the right to participate in the Cracovia Marathon until the expiry of their respective disqualification. V. APPLICATION PROCEDURE AND ENTRY FEE 1. Applications of participation in the 16 th PZU Cracovia Marathon are being received: a. on the official website of the 16 th PZU Cracovia Marathon until 14 April 2017 (applications will be accepted via the application form available on the website: www.pzucracoviamaraton.pl). b. in the Office of he Race on 27, 28 and 29 April. 2. Application is a duly completed electronic form or a form obtained at the Office of the Race, and signing of the declaration at the Office of the Race and payment of the entry fee (except those who are exempted from entry fee). 3. Verification of competitors and distribution of competitor packages together with the race numbers, as well as receiving additional applications, will be held at the Office of the Race. 4. During the collection of competitor package, competitors are required to make a declaration that they are aware of the risks that may arise in connection with the race in the 16 th PZU Cracovia Marathon, and that they are healthy enough to participate in this race. In the event of any doubt about one's health and thus the possibility to enter the

marathon, the competitor is obliged to seek on his/her own a doctor's opinion before entering the event. 5. Competitor packages are to be received by competitors in person. The packages shall be given out upon presentation of an ID or passport with a proof of payment of entry fee (the proof of payment should be furnished by non-verified competitors). 6. However, it is allowed to receive the competitor package on behalf of the other person upon submission of a written authorization for the receipt and medical certificate or declaration of the competitor that he/she is healthy enough to participate signed by the competitor (files to download are attached hereto) Only statements on health condition made using the forms provided by the Organizer will be accepted. Upon collection of a competitor package, it is necessary to furnish an ID document, and in the absence of the race number specified in the start list posted on the website of the race, one should also furnish the proof of payment. 7. The entry fee is as follows: For individual payments: PLN 70 via bank transfer on or before 31.12.2016 PLN 100 via bank transfer within the period 01.01.2017 31.03.2017 PLN 130 via bank transfer within the period 01.04.2017 14.04.2017 PLN 200 in cash at the Office of the Race, within the period 27-29.04.2017 For team payments: For registration of a group of 10 people: PLN 400 via bank transfer on or before 31.12.2016 PLN 650 via bank transfer within the period 01.01.2017 31.03.2017 PLN 800 via bank transfer within the period 01.04.2016 14.04.2017 for a group larger that 10 people, the fee for each next competitor, depending on the date of payment, shall be respectively: PLN 40 on or before 31.12.2016 PLN 65 within the period 01.01.2017 31.03.2017 PLN 80 within the period 01.04.2017-14.04.2017 Note! The above fees for a single competitor apply only to team registrations for at least 10 people. 8. Team registrations: a. Team Captain one of members of a given team is responsible for ensuring that everyone in his/her team sign up individually via application form (https://zapisy.zis.krakow.pl/event/15). In the application form, participant must provide the name of the team. The captain of the team verifies that everyone properly register via application form. b. Then the Team Captain shall make the list of names of members of the team. He/she shall pay in the amount for the entire team according to the valid rate of the entry fee for team payments. Title of the transfer: "Cracovia Maraton fee entry for the team -..." completing the blank field with his/her forename and surname and name of the team He/she sends the team list to the e-mail address: zapisy@zis.krakow.pl with the date of payment and the name specified in the title of transfer. Note! After sending the list of the team to the Organizer there is no possibility to adding to the list new participants. c. Members of the team are not covered by the provisions of Clause V, points 9 and 10 hereof on discounts and exemptions from the entry fee.

d. Each member of the team takes a competitor package and signs the declaration at the Office of the Race in the same manner as individual competitors. 9. Discounts: 50% for winners of the Crown of the Polish Marathons 50% discount for holders of the Krakow Family Card - upon verification at the Office of the Race, please produce the valid Krakow Family Card accompanied by your ID document Note! The discounts may not be accumulated. 10. The following are exempt from the entry fee: - competitors who completed fifteen editions of the Cracovia Marathon, - people invited by the Organizer, - disabled people, - guides of visually impaired people, - competitors over 60 years of age, under an ID document - pacemakers. 11. The entry fee should be paid in as follows: a. via transfer to the bank account on or before 14.04.2017; b. in cash at the Office of the Race in the period 27-29.04.2017. 12. People wishing to obtain a VAT invoice should send their data with the proof of payment to the organizer's e-mail address: zapisy@zis.krakow.pl. 13. Where discounts are used, the transfer title shall be as follows: - 50% for winners of the Crown of Polish Marathons - "Cracovia Marathon entry fee 50 % KMP for..." and complete the blank field with name of the competitor - 50% of discount for Krakow Family Card holders "Cracovia Marathon entry fee 50 % KRR for..." and complete the blank field with name of the competitor. 14. The entry fee: a. Once paid, the entry fee is not subject to return, unless the return is due to activities the Organizer is liable for b. Where the entry fee is not made in full amount (e.g. not corresponding to the currently applicable rate according to the rules), the participant is obliged to settle, as soon as possible, the payable amount up to the rate valid as of the date of payment. c. The entry fee can be re-registered for the benefit of another competitor, upon contact with the Organizer, no later than on or before 27.03.2017. After that date the entry fee may not be re-registered in any case d. The fee cannot be transferred to another edition of the event or to another event. e. The date of crediting the account of the Organizer shall be deemed the date of payment. f. Payments made by bank transfer after 14.04.2017 will not be accepted. The additional payment must be made at the cash office of the Office of the Race;

g. The Organizer is not responsible for any loss of application and the postal order / bank transfer note due to a fault of the postal service/ bank, participant of the run or a third party. VI. CLASSIFICATION 1. In the 16 th PZU Cracovia Marathon, participants will be classified under the following categories: a. general classification for women and men, b. age categories for women and men : F 18-29 M 18-29 F 30-39 M 30-39 F 40-49 M 40-49 F 50-59 M 50-59 F 60-69 M-60-69 F 70 and older M 70 and older: c. General classification for competitors with eyesight disability in the categories of women and men: - Category B1 100% blind persons with a guide - Category B2 - visually impaired people and partially sighted people using the help of another person (guide) or participating on their own. Competitors must provide current proof of eyesight disability e.g. a membership card of Polish Association of the Blind or card of the Local Family Assistance Centre, or decision on granting 1st or 2nd disability group related to eyesight disability. Due to the fact that the above-mentioned documents do not specify that there is 100% loss of vision, and in order to be allowed to run in the B1 category, competitors in this category are required to submit a statement of 100% loss of vision. During registration, eyesight disabled participants are required to make a declaration that they are aware of the risks that may arise out in connection with their participation in the marathon race, and that they are healthy enough to participate in the race. In the event of any doubt about one's health and thus the possibility to enter the race, the competitor is obliged to seek on his/her own a doctor's opinion before entering the event. d. Team classification Five most numerous teams (clubs) will be selected. The classification will be established based on the name of club provided during registration individually by each competitor. VII. PRIZES 1. All Participants who reach the finish line with the stipulated time, will be awarded a commemorative medal. 2. Prizes funded by sponsors of the marathon in general categories of women and men: 1st place PLN 20 000 2nd place PLN 15,000 3rd place PLN 10,000 3. Moreover, there is a prize of PLN 10,000 for breaking the record of the Cracovia Marathon. Current records are as follows: 2:11:26 - men, and 2:28:14 women. 4. In the age categories of women and men, there will be in-kind prize or voucher. 5. Participants who are awarded in general classification will also be awarded in age categories.

6. In addition: a. The following participants will be awarded the City of Krakow Cups: - winners of the three first positions in the general categories of men and women - representatives of the five most numerous times/clubs the cup shall be received on behalf of the team by one of its members representing the team 7. Value of the prizes in the categories for the disabled, funded by marathon sponsors in general ranking of men and women (the organizer reserves the right to award participants in this category also below 3rd place): - Open category of competitors with eyesight disability in the categories of women and men: Category B1-100% blind persons with a guide: 1st place - PLN 2000 2nd place - PLN 1500 3rd place - PLN 1000 Category B2 - visually impaired and partially sighted people using the help of another person (guide) or participating on their own: 1st place - PLN 2000 2nd place - PLN 1500 3rd place - PLN 1000 8. The prerequisite to be awarded the prizes is to complete the race and obtain negative result of anti-doping test. 9. Prizes in the general classification will be paid to the account specified by the competitor as soon as the results of anti-doping test are available. 10. In-kind prizes that are not received during the awarding ceremony may be received in the organizer's principal office within a month from the event, after prior contacting the Organizer. After that period the prize shall be forfeited for the benefit of the Organizer. 11. Additional prizes funded by the Sponsor of the 16 th PZU Cracovia Marathon: a. for the fastest female resident of Krakow - resident of Krakow, a woman registered for permanent residence in Krakow as of the date of registration to the event, who has completed the race b. for the fastest male resident of Krakow - resident of Krakow, a man registered for permanent residence in Krakow as of the date of registration to the event, who has completed the race c. for the oldest runner the oldest person, by year of birth stated in the registration form, who has completed the race 12. Where the total value of the prize exceeds PLN 760, an income tax shall be deducted from that prize according to applicable legislation. VIII. ORGANIZER'S SERVICE 1. 1. Cloakroom and storage of clothing will be located near the start/finish area. 2. The storage will be used for depositing competitors' personal belongings packed into bags provided by the organizer upon verification of competitors, with labels attached specifying the number given at the starting point. 3. The cloakroom and storage will be open on 30.04.2017, 7.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. The bags will be given out of the deposit upon presentation of the race number. In the event the race number is lost by competitor, the organizer is released from the liability for the bag taken out by another person. It is not allowed to leave valuable items and documents in the storage.

4. The organizer is not responsible for items of participants left outside the storage. 5. Within the entry fee, each participant receives a competitor package, comprising: - race number with safety pins, - shirt (the Organizer does not guarantee suitable shirt size) - bag for belongings to be stored + sticker for the bag, - information materials. and also: - free admission to the Pasta Party, - option of free accommodation, - option to use showers and massage after the race, - energy meal after the race. 6. The route of the race will be marked. 7. During the event the Organizer provides emergency medical assistance. Due to physical effort related to the marathon distance it is recommended to become subject to relevant medical examination before starting. regardless of the age and physical shape of the participant. 8. Entry fee covers also accommodation in a sports hall. Participants should have their own sleeping pads and sleeping bags. a. Competitors applying for accommodation in the hall will be received there on 29 of April, from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Participants of the 16 th PZU Cracovia Marathon, who attend the sports hall without prior registration of that need in the night before the competition, will be directed for accommodation according to actual vacancies available. b. Participants using the accomodation are required to abide by the rules applicable at the facility. c. The organizer will not be liable for any damages associated with accommodation. 9. The "Pasta Party" will be held on 29 April at 2:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. in the area of Marathon Town. Admission free for each verified participant of the marathon. 10. The organizer shall provide free accommodation and meals covered by the entry fee to competitors registered by 31.03.2016, who are granted champion class (M-class) under the rules of Polish Association of Athletics (PZLA), or those who in 2014-2016 in the events covered by the calendar of the IAAF, EAA or PZLA gained results below 2:11:30 for men and below 2:32:00 for women respectively. 11. As in previous years, the Organizer strives to obtain public transport discounts. Any information about positive result of these attempts will be published on the website. IX. FINANCING 1. Costs of organizing the 16 th PZU Cracovia Marathon are covered by: the Municipality of Krakow, Sponsors and Partners. FINAL PROVISIONS 1. Participants of the 16 th PZU Cracovia Marathon must adhere to the regulations of Polish Athletics Association, IAAF, and to these Rules. 2. During the race, participants must have their race numbers provided by the organizer pinned to the shirt front. Covering the race number in whole or in part is prohibited under penalty of disqualification. 3. The Organizer reserves the right to carry out anti-doping testing during the 16 th PZU Cracovia Marathon.

4. Competitors may give their consent for processing their personal data for internal purposes of the event organizer and the use of their image in information, marketing and publicity materials under a declaration signed at the Office of the Race. 5. Chief Referee receives written protests by 4:00 pm. on the day of the event at the latest. 6. The Organizer reserves the right to make changes in these Rules, and the Organizer is obliged to announce those changes before the event. 7. The Organizer reserves the right to change the date and route of the course. 8. Notification by sending an application form or submitting it to the Office of the Race constitutes acceptance of the Rules of the race. Update 07.12.2016
