Messenger April, 2013 303-838-9080 PO Box 477, Bailey, CO 80421 www.bailey-colorado.org Next General Membership Meeting: Tues, April 9th @ 7:30 AM at the Platte Canyon Fire House (at the top of Crow Hill) AGENDA Pledge of Allegiance Greeting and Intros by The President Business of the Month: Highlighted Businesses: Chamber Committee Reports - 285 Tourism Map Update - Spring Mixer Review, Summer Mixer - Chamber Directory - Bailey Day Speaker/Presentation - Jennifer Anderson, Staunton State Park Manager Adjourn MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT: Fellow Chamber Members, A big thank you goes out to the Spring Mixer Team for organizing a very successful Chances Scholarship Fundraiser with over $5000 raised. Once again the Chamber will be able to present scholarships to deserving students of Platte Canyon High School during the next few months. I am very excited about the progress of planning this year s Bailey Day. The Olde West theme really is adding some special touches and ideas to the celebration of Bailey on June 15th. It is not too late to participate and help out with the monster task of putting together the biggest Chamber event of the year. The team of volunteers is growing and donating your valuable time is very much appreciated. It is time to congratulate the new and existing businesses at Delwood Square for operating at full capacity. One of our major goals from a survey al little more than a year ago was to promote our town to attract more businesses, resulting in occupying the available commercial spaces. We wish all of these new businesses most success and we are looking forward to no vacancies in all of Bailey. Last but not least, I am looking forward to the presentation from Jennifer Anderson, Staunton State Park Manager, during our general meeting on Tuesday. We will get an overview of the park, anticipated business impact and a Q&A session. Don t miss out! 285 Tourism Foothill Adventure Map Ads Last year, we had printed 20,000 copies of this map and we ve given away over 14,000 of them we need to print more for this year s tourism season! The design of the map got great feedback so we aren t going to change that, but we need to again sell ad spaces in order to pay for printing and distribution costs. This year, we are looking at getting this further away and in more locations. If you are renewing, please let us know if you wish to keep the same ad as last year, or if you plan on re-designing it. If you are creating a new ad, you must submit a print-quality ad (300dpi) at the exact size required by March 31st ALL ads due by this date!
