3 2.0 Installation istructions 2.1 Safety inforation Te RTS igital series soul only be installe by a traine electrician. Te I.E.E wiring regulations ust be observe. Te supply ust be isconnecte before wiring coences an a eans of isolation wit a separation of 3 in eac current pat ust be provie in te supply to te RTS unit. Tis prouct ust not be installe were it ay coe into irect contact wit liquis. Te RTS unit is suitable for fixe wiring applications only. Te RTS igital series ust not be use wit inustry stanar electroecanical bases wit eart strips as ouble insulation ay be prejuice. 2.2 Electrical interference Despite elaborate safety precautions, exceptionally strong electrical fiels ay interfere wit any icroprocessor controlle tieswitc. 4 Reove te transparent cover fro te RTS unit by rotating it anticlockwise troug 30 an ten pulling it clear. Unscrew te screw A (see fig. 3), reove te terinal cover an pull te tieswitc plug-in assebly clear of te base. Drill out te tree fixing screw oles in te base (see fig. 2) an use 3 x No. 8 wooscrews (wit wall plugs if necessary) to fix te RTS unit to te ounting surface. Alternatively te unit ay be fixe to panelling using 2B.A. or 5 screws but if te panelling is conucting it ust be aequately earte in accorance wit te IEE wiring regulations. In eiter case ensure tat te screws are countersunk an tigtene fully so tat tere is no projection above te surface of te base. Strip 8 of insulation fro te en of eac wire an insert in te appropriate terinal (see figs 1 an 4). Securely tigten te terinal screws onto te wires an pus te tieswitc plug-in assebly fully oe into te base to ensure electrical safety. Reove te appropriate knock-outs in te terinal cover an locate te cover over te cables or conuit, securing wit screw A. After coissioning te installation replace te transparent cover by pusing over te base an rotating clockwise ensuring tat lugs C an D on te base an cover are line up as in fig. 2. If te transparent cover is require to be locke tis can be acieve by a palock troug te lug C wit lugs C an D in te position sown in fig 2. Alternatively te oles in lugs C an D can be line up, wire an seale. Te fixing screw A (fig 3) securing te terinal cover can also be secure by wiring an sealing. 3.0 Getting starte Te RTS unit will alost certainly get to te installer wit its internal battery in a iscarge conition. Connect te unit to te ains for approx 1 our to partially carge te battery an ten refer to section 6 to see ow to set te unit up as eiter a 24 our or 7 ay tieswitc an ow to coose te appropriate suer/winter tie cange rule or none at all. 3.1 Return to autoatic operating oe If no buttons are presse for approx. 40 secons in te reviewing or prograe oe, te isplay reverts to autoatic oe wit clock tie an flasing colon sowing. 4.6 General eletion of all switcing ties Note: Tis action clears all store switcing ties. (Te current tie an te selecte tie ajustent rule reain). If te buttons + + are presse siultaneously in te prograing or cecking oe, all switcing ties will be elete at once. 5.0 Switcing functions 5.1 Output overrie During autoatic oe, te RTS unit output can be switce fro on ( ) to off ( ) or off to on by pressing te button. For te two cannel RTS274 te C1 an C2 buttons can be use to overrie te outputs of cannels C1 an C2. Wen te button is presse, te tieswitc canges output status. Te overrie will be correcte by te next contrary switcing coan. Overrie is also available at te pus butto on te sie of te case except for te RTS17. autoatic on autoatic off 7 5.2 Peranent ON/OFF In autoatic oe, te buttons an can be use to switc te RTS unit peraently on (fig. 1/ ) or peranently off (fig. 2/ ). Hol own te button first an ten select te switcing status wit te button. Wen a peraent setting is cancelle by oling own te button first an ten pressing te button once or twice, te ot next to te switcing status isplay isappears (see fig. 3). Once te setting as been cancelle, te tie switc perfors a prograe review, wic involves cecking te store prograe an ten sets te correct switcing status. 5.3 Holiay prograe Te oliay prograe allows te noral operating prograe to be interrupte for a axiu of 99 ays (switcing status off = ). Te oliay prograe can be prograe up to a axiu of 99 ays in avance. Te oliay progra always begins an ens at inigt. Te current ay is not counte. Exaple: On Monay, a oliay prograe is activate wic is to apply for a perio of 2 ays fro Friay inclusive. Te button ust be el own trougout te setting operation!
