Dylan s Star hung out during the middle stages, then had to be checked when racing in restricted room passing the 600m. Bushie s Crumpet began awkwardly. Sally s Dream slow to begin. Race 2: Maiden Plate (Div 1) 1000m Bell Hop raced greenly under pressure in the home straight and hung in. Blake Street had to be checked when crowded momentarily passing the 600m. Snippet Assured began awkwardly. Jay Double You Bee was crowded at the start, then had to be checked and shifted out abruptly passing the 600m. Escapetotheorient slow to begin. Le Floozie missed the start (2L), raced greenly in the early stages and lost ground. Stable representative Mr. J Byrne was advised that a warning for poor racing manners would be placed on the filly s racing record. Blinkin Dusty hung in during the middle stages. Race 3: Maiden Handicap 1400m Blinkin Nomore slow to begin. Celona slow to begin, was crowded and had to be shifted out abruptly passing the 1100m, then had to be checked and became unbalanced near the 700m when contacted heavily by It s Relative (B Looker), which shifted out to go forward, when not clear. B Looker was reprimanded (AR137a). Yummy Yummy slow to begin. Race 4: Class 1 Handicap 1000m Almaheart began awkwardly. Born In Barcelona began awkwardly. Yisa was withdrawn at 1.16pm after sustaining an injury to its off-side rump during the float trip to the course. Trainer Mr. P Grills was advised that prior to racing again the mare would be required to undergo a veterinary examination to determine its fitness. Redirect slow to begin.
Midge broke through the barrier prior to a start being effected, however was quickly restrained and returned to the start, where it was passed to compete by the club s veterinary officer. Victory Vibes began very awkwardly. Private Ryan raced greenly in the early stages. Race 5: Benchmark 50 Handicap 1000m Gatto Mondo prior to the declaration of correct weight, the rider B Looker and the starter Mr. M Hunt were interviewed regarding Gatto Mondo leaving the barrier rider less. B Looker said that after being placed into the barriers last, he addressed the starter by informing him that he was prepared for the start, however when the gates released Gatto Mondo lunged sideways and he felt that it was going to rear. He said this caused him to become unbalanced and dislodged when his mount left its barrier stall. Gatto Mondo was declared a runner. Stable representative Mr. J Byrne was advised that a warning for being fractious in the barrier would be placed on the mare s racing record. Heart Of Thunder slow to begin. Brad slow to begin. Lasszou began awkwardly and missed the start (2L), then ran wide and had to be checked passing the 500m. Naoko was hampered by the rider less runner approaching the home turn. Diamond Court weakened noticeably passing the 500m. a post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare was slow to recover. Trainer Mr. P Cleal was advised that a warning for poor performance would be placed on the mare s racing record. Race 6: Class 1 Handicap 1400m Royal Villa began awkwardly and shifted out, then hung out rounding the home turn. Exit Only slow to begin. Bridget s Star began very awkwardly and lost ground (2L).
Silver Art when questioned in relation to his ride in the early stages, J Pracey-Holmes explained that whilst he had not been issued strict instructions, he was aware of the gelding s pattern of being forward in its races. He said that after beginning awkwardly, he rode with vigour in an attempt to go forward, however from the outside barrier Silver Art could not cross the field and he elected to find cover before turning at the 1000m. He said that he placed his mount under pressure from the 600m and was pleased with its response and finishing effort. Escapade slow to begin. Race 7: Benchmark 65 Handicap 1600m Wild Cavalier A Cavallo, the rider of Zoutenant was found guilty of a charge of careless riding (AR137a), in that passing the 1000m, he allowed his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of Wild Cavalier which had to be checked and lost ground. A Cavallo s license to ride in races was suspended for a period to commence 19/12/17 and expire 26/12/17, on which day he may resume. Race 8: Benchmark 65 Handicap 1300m Sudden Blitz hung in when placed under pressure in the home straight. Drummed Out was crowded and had to be checked passing the 1000m when racing inside About Time which was crowded and carried in by Hooge (L Henry), which shifted in when not clear. Considering L Henry s exemplary riding record which includes more than 4000 rides since incurring suspension, she was reprimanded (AR137a).
