Johnson Director at Large: Robert Gibbs General Counsel: Marshall Medlin SASBA South Central Dir: Jim Kimg Gary Dickinson and Joe Tidwell came from 301 pins behind, to win the Super Senior-Senior Ebonite Senior Tour doubles tournament in Odessa by 265 pins. This was a gain of 566 pins over second place CJ Johnson and David Ozio. Third place was Toby Yeager and Rick Minier, fourth David Addington and Gary Hadley, and fifth was Sam Magill and Joe Binder. David Ozio qualified 450 pins over for eight games a 256.25 average on a demanding shot. At one time he had 20 strikes in a row. His low game was 233, and if he averaged that he would have been the qualifying leader, AWESOME! Jamie s Tournament Notes Dave Hoff rolled 121 to win the dog of the week award for low game of the tournament. David Ozio rolled a 300 game. David Addington liked it. Phil Bailey won the sweeper, again. John Dodd won the linds shoe in the sweeper and Mark Estes won them in the tournament. There were RB all over the place, Jamie Brooks had 3 on lane 12. OUCH! Zap got a trophy for his 128 notap game he rolled last week in Oklahoma City. The Dude brought his big game out. Charlie Farmer bowled great. Dennis Howard and Bryce Ellison won the second chance doubles event over second place Maury Newman and Ed Kilcullen. We had 32 bowlers stay for the second chance tournament. The SS-Guest Tournament in San Antonio has had a strong early entry, if you plan to bowl get your $320 entry fee in soon. We have Gary Hadley made his first finals. Our next event is our Champions and Non- Champions tournaments in Fort Worth. If you have not won a SASBA tournament, this is the tournament you should enter!!!!!!!! room for 48 teams. The BBB had a few too many Saturday night and put both contacts in one eye Sunday morning. He said that the pins were too loud Sunday. Thanks to John Burns and his staff for the hard work for us. Richard Britton had a RB. Dave Hoff made a spare. David Addington really liked it. New member Sam Magill bowled great.

VOLUME 15, ISSUE 19 Page 4 AND THIS IS WHAT HAPPENED... The SASBA Red Hatters always have a good time in the Midland/Odessa area and this year was no exception when last Friday ten of us and two guests sat down to beautifully decorated tables for a fabulous luncheon in the garden room of the 98-year old Scarborough-Linebery House on South Main Street in Midland. I can t begin to tell you how good the food was, but believe me when I tell you the dessert was finger licking good! The tour following lunch was extremely interesting and we all enjoyed seeing the beautiful antiques and hearing the story of the Scarborough/Linebery family - a big THANK YOU to the ladies who served as our guides. The City of Midland is very fortunate to be responsible for such a treasure. Another big THANK YOU goes to our hostess, Donna Smith, and her sister, Betty Jo Kempf, for arranging this event for us. Now you may think the only thing we did was eat and tour, but not so. There were wonderful favors of scented hand and body cream for everyone (made by those talented ladies who volunteer at the Scarborough-Linebery House) to ooh and ah over; secret sister gifts and cards to be opened and shared; Ladybug gifts to be awarded; and door prizes and event prizes to be won. We also welcomed our guests, Betty Jo Kempf, Donna s sister, and Judy Burns, wife of John Burns, manager of Diamond Lanes in Odessa, where our hubbies were hanging out. Jan Colaluca was there to claim her Ladybug award from Copperfield, and Janice Gibbs won for being the fifth person to RSVP for the Odessa/Midland event. We were so glad to have Janice and her cohort, Helen Freehauf, with us at this event. It is always a treat when the Bracket Babes show up (Helen, please notice I said Babes ). Your lucky Queenie won the event prize provided by our gracious hostess a Scarborough-Linebery House cookbook. It couldn t have been won by a needier person everyone knows I can t cook! Our hostess, Donna Smith, pulled an Alene Hensley trifecta. She received a much-deserved hostess gift, won the door prize (a beautiful white and gold teacup), and received a precious gift from her secret sister. Donna, have you modeled that bikini for Fred yet? Pinkies, Alene Hensley and Debbie Ellison, were there to haul and tote for me (these Red Hatters in Training are so handy to have around), and our other Pinky, Kathy King, was sporting a tulle topper fashioned right at the table by our talented Ms. Brooks. We also got to award our much deserving Princess of Prod (Peggy Brooks) with her very own customized Acme People Prod courtesy of the Old Man of the Sea (Fred Smith). Watch out ladies, Peggy is now armed and dangerous. Nanci Johnson was there to record it all with her camera. If you weren t there, we missed you, and needless to say, you missed a great time not only the Red Hat Event, but you missed all those really friendly people in the Midland/Odessa area who go out of their way to show us a good time. AND, you missed those I think I ve died and gone to Heaven mattresses at the host hotel, not to mention Zucchi s, my favorite Italian restaurant in the world. Make it a point to be there next year!
