YAKIMA CROSSFIRE JUNIORS & LITTLE SS BOYS & GIRLS 2017 Fall Program Crossfire Juniors Ages 8-14 Lil Sparks Ages 5-7 Crossfire Jr & Little Sparks Programs The Crossfire Juniors & The Little Sparks Programs are intended for players that are awaiting placement on a YYSA Recreational Team. The Crossfire Junior & Little Sparks programs will be a similar structured soccer environment. The teams will be formed as Volunteer Coaches commit to the upcoming Recreational season, or where there are available numbers on current rosters. Every player will be assigned to a team. YYSA will assign players based upon our traditional elements and criteria, as well as where the player is at in their soccer development process. 2017 Fall Programs The Crossfire Juniors, and Little Sparks programs are intended to absorb the overflow of players during sign ups, while Volunteer Coaching staff is generated, or roster spots become available. Both programs will be coached by the Yakima Crossfire Premier staff and will train twice a week beginning in September (9/19). Each team will participate in games continuing through early November. All Little Sparks practices are 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Tuesday and Thursday nights at the Ahtanum Youth Park. All Crossfire Juniors practices are 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Tuesday and Thursday nights at the Ahtanum Youth Park. Games will also be at Ahtanum Youth Park. FAQ s: What equipment should players bring? (Answer) Players should where soccer clothing, and dress for the weather. All players should be wearing shin guards. We also would like each player to bring a ball and a water bottle if possible. What is the format of training, what can I expect? (Answer) Following check-in coaches will lead a warm-up. Following warm-up, players will spend most of the time in small sided games where coaches will observe them playing. The best way for coaches to see a player s ability level is to watch them playing soccer. From there Coaches will build training sessions around overall needs along the lines of the Yakima Crossfire Player Development Guide.

PARENT PLAYER AGREEMENT MISSION STATEMENT To teach, govern and promote the game of soccer. To encourage courtesy, proper conduct and respect for authority by the officials, and spectators. To promote a sense of fair play, good sportsmanship and the development of leadership. To develop physical fitness, mental alertness and self-discipline. THE PLAYER Yakima Youth Soccer Association (YYSA) encourages potential players and their parents to consider all their club options and choose what best suits the individual, taking into consideration each person s goals and aspirations as a soccer player. Once a commitment to join a YYSA program and Team is made, the player and their parents agree to abide by the policies of the Club and the team. Players typically stick with their teams for multiple years / seasons. Each player agrees to: 1. Show respect for teammates, opponents, officials and coaches. 2. Exhibit fair play, sportsmanship, and proper conduct on and off the playing field. 3. Refrain from the use of profanity, vulgarity, and other offensive language and gestures. 4. Adhere to the established rules and standards of the game and of the Club. THE PARENT Parental support and involvement in the Club are essential. If your son or daughter has made the commitment to play for YYSA, the parent must assure that the player attends all possible team functions and follows all established rules and guidelines. Each parent agrees to: 1. Ensure that their player can attend practices and games, and all team functions. 2. Fulfill the required number of volunteer hours as established by the Club. 3. Show respect to all players on the team, referees, all players of the opposing team and their fans. 4. Not coach their children or any other members of the team, during practices or games. Make no comments to officials before, during or after games. 5. Not make critical remarks to others about players, coaches or coach s decisions.
COMMUNICATION Clear communication between the player and the coach is essential. If there is uncertainty about what is expected of the player, it is their responsibility to speak to the coach about the matter. All parent/player (combined) meetings with the coach or manager will be on a one on one basis. Groups of parents will not meet with team coaches/managers to discuss individual player/coach issues. These are different than scheduled Team Meetings. If any issues remain unresolved after the player/parent has met with the coach/manager then YYSA / Yakima Crossfire Director of Coaching may be contacted directly for assistance in resolving the issue. E-mail to yysadoc@yysa.org DISCIPLINE If disciplinary actions are necessary, the following steps will be taken: The team coach, manager, and/or Coaching Director will discuss the issue directly with the player or with the parent if they are the problem. In the case of a player, if the problem is not resolved, the team coach, manager, and/or Coaching Director will discuss the issue with the player s parents. If the problem persists with the player or parent, the Coaching Director and team coach in conjunction with the YYSA Board, may suspend the player or parent from training and games. If the situation warrants, the Coaching Director may recommend to the YYSA Board that the player be removed from the Club. The parents of any player recommended for suspension or removal may request to meet with the executive committee of the YYSA Board along with the Coaching Director and the team coach. REFUNDS No refunds will be given in the event that a player is removed from the Club due to disciplinary reasons. No refunds will be given if the player leaves the Club to play for another club in the region. If a player is required to leave the team due to injury or relocation, then a refund will be given on a pro rata basis depending on the amount of time left in the season.
