The participating runners also have the race rules at their disposal via this link.

1. THE ZURICH MALAGA MARATHON STARTING LINE The Zurich Malaga Marathon will start at 9am on Sunday, 10th December 2017. The marathon will start at the Paseo del Parque (Park Promenade) opposite the Most Excellent Malaga City Council, and will also finish at this location. Each runner will go to his or her corresponding starting box, according to the colour of his or her race number. The starting boxes are as follows: 1. ELITE 2. Under 3 hours 3. Under 3.5 hours 4. Under 4 hours 5. Under 4.5 hours 6. GENERAL Participants can access their corresponding boxes at the starting area 45 minutes before the start of the race, and access to this are shall close 10 minutes before the race starts. So, access to the starting boxes is between 8:15 am to 8:50 am. Entry to the boxes can be from either side of the paseo del parque (park promenade), and it is recommended to go to the starting box area with plenty of time in advance. Race participants are allowed up to 3pm to finish the marathon, which is a maximum time of 6 hours from the starting signal of the initial start.

2. ZURICH MALAGA MARATHON FINISH LINE Once runners have finished the marathon, after completing the run and having passed the FINISH line arch, there is a large recovery area where athletes will have to go round these different stages in the following order: 2.1 Medal and poncho award presented in the area after the finish line. Finishers who want to personalise their medal can do so in the tent named "TODO TROFEO", which is located in the same area. 2.2 Regain strength at the final refreshment service where water, San Miguel 0,0, Isotonic, Powerade and fruit will be served for all runners. 2.3 The organisers will offer a physiotherapy and podiatry service for runners who need these services, and these are located in the area of the finish line. 2.4 Showers. Runners who are non-residents of Malaga shall have access to showers in the "Viva Gym" gymnasium (Malaga Plaza Shopping Centre, Calle Armengual de la Mota, 12, 29007 Málaga, ENTRY via the street named "calle Calvo"). Runners who want to use the shower service will have to purchase a ticket at the runner's fair (from the Viva Gym gymnasium stand), at the token price of 1, which will go to two charitable organisations: Fundación CESMA Proyecto Hombre Málaga

(Malaga CESMA Foundation and Humanitarian Project) and Fundación ONCE (National Organization of Spanish blind people) for tending to the blind and deaf. The ticket will have a colour that corresponds to the same colour of their race bib number, and an allocated time for using the service: White and blue race bib number: use of showers 12:30pm - 1:30pm. Yellow and orange race bib number: use of showers 1:30pm - 2:30pm. Purple and grey race bib number: use of showers 2:30pm - 4pm. Once runners have regained their strength, we ask them all to leave the finish line area due to the large number of participants. We recommend you to go to the cloakroom to pick up your belongings, as this will avoid a mass of people in the same area. For safety and logistics reasons, we remind you that the finish area shall only be open to participating runners. 3. CLOAKROOM The cloakroom service will be located in the Cervantes car park (Calle Cervantes 4 Zona, Malagueta), under the bullring. Opening times: 7am to 8:45am for leaving belongings. 11:30am to 3:30pm to pick up belongings. One bag per runner can be left in the cloakroom service. The maximum weight restriction is 5kg, and suitcases or large pieces of luggage are not permitted. In order to use the cloakroom, each participant shall be given a sticker along with his or her race bib number. Runners will have to identify their bag by showing their sticker and identification to our volunteers. A race bib number must be shown, in order to take bags from the cloakroom service. It is not recommended to store fragile or valuable objects in the bag, as the organisation shall not be responsible for the loss or damage that may occur to such

objects due to the handling of the bags by our team of volunteers. 4. HOW DO YOU GET TO THE ZURICH MALAGA MARATHON STARTING LINE? MALAGA METRO Malaga Metro will have a stand in the Marathon Expo where free metro tickets shall be handed out to all participants. To arrive at the nearest place possible to the Zurich Malaga Marathon by Malaga Metro, you must take metro lines 1 and 2, and get off at the last stop called 'El Perchel': EMT BUS SERVICE Malaga's municipal transportation company - EMT (Empresa Malagueña de Transportes) offers 45 bus lines with an average frequency of 10-15 minutes, and their timetables are displayed via the following link: EMT Malaga Lines and Timetables (city bus). EMT Malaga will have a stand in the expo area where tickets shall be handed out to all participants who want to use the bus service free of charge. The nearest bus stops to the Paseo del Parque (Park Promenade) are the following (the Park Promenade will be closed off during the event):

PARKING On the day of the marathon, participants can take advantage of a special agreement concerning the use of car parks, courtesy of SMASSA (Sociedad Municipal de Aparcamientos y Servicios S.A.): Cervantes (Calle Cervantes 4 - Zona, Malagueta) and Andalucía (Avenida Andalucía, 4). Times: from 7:30am to 4pm Price: 5 Procedure: enter using a normal ticket, and show race bib number to parking attendant in the cabin upon departure. A ticket shall be given to apply the discount. BICYCLE The city offers a network of important bike lanes, and it is possible to arrive at the Paseo del Parque (Park Promenade) using these lanes. You can check the following links below to locate the bike lanes and their parking areas: If you don't have your own bike, you can always rent one. There is currently a public bike rental service called MálagaBici. This is a public bike rental service which offers its users a network of 23 bike stations distributed around the city centre and surrounding areas of Malaga. Should you make use of this rental service, the public bike stations nearest to the Paseo del Parque de Málaga (Malaga's Park Promenade) are:

- Avenida Cervantes, near the Rector of the University of Malaga. - Avenida Manuel Agustín Heredia, next to the Intercity Bus substation. - Plaza de la Marina, on the pavement outside McDonald s. - Calle Vélez Málaga, on Paseo de la Farola. 4. RACE BIB NUMBERS Bibs/chips for the Zurich Malaga Marathon shall be picked up during the Marathon Expo, which will take place in the José Mª Martín Carpena Sports Centre (Palacio de los Deportes José Mª Martín Carpena), Calle Miguel Mérida Nicolich 2, 29004 Málaga. The times to pick up race bib number will be the following: - Friday 8th December from 3pm to 9pm - Saturday 9th December from 10am to 8pm The bibs must be picked up during these times by showing your identity card or passport as means of identification. Under no circumstances shall race bib number be picked up on the same day of the marathon. If you cannot pick up your race bib number in person, a third person with signed authorisation and the necessary documentation (photocopy of runner's identity card and entry receipt) can pick it up on your behalf.

5. THE ZURICH MALAGA MARATHON ROUTE You can check the interactive and altimetrical version of the course map via this link. To show the position and movement of the athletes, the map will be shown with human resources, volunteers, local police, civil protection, as well as material resources, cones, barriers, signs and road markings. 6. MALAGA MARATHON MEDICAL SERVICES The six medical care points in the race are distributed over kilometres 15, 29, 35 and 38, as well as the start/finish line where the field hospital and the mobile ICU are located. In these two areas, the medical services can quickly tend to any medical issues that race participants may have, as well as the general public at the event. Physiotherapy and chiropody services are also offered to our participants during the race, and at the start/finish area. As a complementary service, Sos Cardiosport will also look after the wellbeing of runners in the Zurich Malaga Marathon with their mobile medical assistance teams. They will be located at the beginning, middle and the end of the race, and will be moving throughout the route. 7. VEHICLES The vehicles in the marathon, courtesy of the authorised dealer Tahermo - Málaga, carry out different functions for the marathon related to security, medical services, participant control and sports control. In addition, volunteers on bicycles and skates shall accompany our participants during the course of the marathon, and look out for possible incidents that may arise. 8. PACEMAKERS IN THE ZURICH MALAGA MARATHON In collaboration with the Real Club Mediterráneo, the organisation shall provide pacemaker runners for the benefit of participants, and these pacemakers shall run at a suitable pace to go round the course. The times set for these athletes will be: 3 h, 3:15 h, 3:30 h, 3:45 h, 4 h, 4:15 h and 4:30 h. The athletes responsible for this task shall be identified by their clothing and signs which will be recognisable for the rest of participants.

9. REFRESHMENTS Throughout the route of the Zurich Malaga Marathon, there will be the following kinds of 15 refreshment points: Liquid and solid refreshments: -At kilometres: 15, 21, 25, 30, 35 and the finish line. - Water, Aquarius and fruit shall be offered. Liquid refreshments: -At kilometres: 5, 7.5, 10, 12.5, 17.5, 22.5, 27.5, 32.5, 37.5 and at the finish line. - Water shall be offered. Athletes are reminded of the cleaning areas in these places, to make use of them, and to leave any refuse inside them. 10. TOILETS AT THE ZURICH MALAGA MARATHON The organisation offers participants the use of toilets at the start / finish area, as well as at all refreshment points. 11. CHIP TIMING IN THE ZURICH MALAGA MARATHON There is a timing system supplied by CronoChip, which runners will receive and carry attached to their race bib number in the form of a device or chip. These disposable elements do not require a deposit, and manipulation, change of position or swapping among participants is prohibited. There will be different timing points throughout the route located at the start / finish, and at kilometres 10, 15.5, 21, 29 and 38. The runners will have to run over the areas or mats provided for this purpose. 12. RACE TIME CONTROL AT THE ZURICH MALAGA MARATHON The race has a time control set at 3pm, which is the official maximum time limit to complete the course, regardless of a runner's start time. The race control shall stay closed successively by passing kilometres: 5, 10, 20, 30, 40 and the finish line, allowing a maximum time of 43 minutes, 1hr 25 mins, 2hrs 50 mins, 4hrs 15 mins, 5hrs 41 mins and 6hrs respectively from the signal at the start of the race. Once the time limit has been exceeded at these points, a

vehicle of the organisation shall overtake the athlete who will be obliged to remove their race bib number. From those times onwards, the dismounting, cleaning and subsequent reopening to traffic surrounded by the circuit shall be undertaken. 13. RESULTS The results of the Zurich Malaga Marathon will be published on the marathon's website (www.zurichmaratonmalaga.es) once the race has finished, and subsequent to a revision carried out by the official judges of the Andalusia Athletics Federation (Federación Andaluza de Atletismo) and the Royal Spanish Athletics Federation (Real Federación Española de Atletismo). 15. THE ZURICH MALAGA MARATHON CATEGORIES According to the regulations of the Royal Spanish Athletics Federation (RFEA), the following classifications shall be made for the male and female categories,

16. PHOTO AND VIDEO The Zurich Malaga Marathon offers a photography and video service for all runners, and these services shall be downloadable and free of charge. - Photography: CanoSports shall be the company responsible for photographing all the big moments of the Zurich Malaga Marathon. They will be present on 8th and 9th December for the Marathon Expo, the Breakfast Run, Kids Race and the Pasta Party. Naturally, they will also take care of taking photos before, during and after the Zurich Malaga Marathon. - Videos: Corriendovoy shall be responsible for filming the runners while they competing in the Zurich Malaga Marathon. They will have cameras located at the start/finish line, and the tenth kilometre of the route. We will also offer a video summary of this edition courtesy of Visual Link, which will be shown during the days after the race. 17. MEDALS All participants who hired the medal engraving service upon registering shall have to attend the TODOTROFEO tent in the Marathon Expo, in order to pick up a Zurich Malaga Marathon band. You can also have your medal engraved with your finishing time for 5 at the Marathon Expo, or for 10 at the finish line. Medals shall be awarded at the finish line, and these may be engraved in the TODOTROFEO tent located in the finish line area after the race. 18. PRIZE-GIVING Prizes shall be given according to categories during the course of the event. All prize-winning runners will have to register themselves with the organisation once they have finished the event, and stay in the finish line area until they have been awarded with the corresponding trophy. Prizes shall be awarded at 12pm, 1pm and 2pm.

19. MARATHON EXPO You cannot miss the opportunity to know about the highlighted companies and brands in the running industry, which will attend the expo to exhibit their latest novelties to all participants and visitors. The Zurich Malaga Marathon Expo shall be held in the Jose Mª Martín Carpena Sports Centre (Palacio de Deportes Jose Mª Martín Carpena) during 8th and 9th December 2017. Marathon Expo times: - Friday, 8th December: 3pm to 9pm - Saturday, 9th December: 10am to 8pm At the Marathon Expo, you will find services to pick up the bib/chip, runner's bags, physiotherapy, chiropody, hairdressing and commercial activities for participants, companions and the general public. 20. PARALLEL ACTIVITIES BREAKFAST RUN AND KIDS RACE The Zurich Malaga Marathon presents its Breakfast Run: a race intended for runners, their families, friends and citizens of Malaga. On 9th December, the day before the marathon, all lovers of running can enjoy the Breakfast Run - a race of nearly 5 kilometres long. This race shall be held on Saturday, 9th December at 9am in the City of Malaga Athletics Stadium (Estadio de Atletismo de la Ciudad de Málaga). The Breakfast Run is considered as a training event before the big challenge, a perfect opportunity for warming up your legs for the marathon, and to do so accompanied by all those who have come to cheer you on in the great adventure: the last five kilometres of preparation for the Zurich Malaga Marathon. Registration for the Breakfast Run is free of charge for all marathon participants, and will cost 5 euros for those who are not registered in the marathon. The price includes a commemorative t-shirt and entry to the Pasta Party. Registration is open until 1st December. The pick up of race bib numbers for the Breakfast Run shall take place on 8th December at the Marathon Expo in the Jose Mª Martín Carpena Sports Centre (Palacio de Deportes Jose Mª Martín Carpena).

The youngest members of the family also have an event designed for them in the City of Malaga Athletics Stadium (Estadio de Atletismo de la Ciudad de Málaga). From 11am, there will be races held round the all-weather oval, so that the young promises will be able to feel like real athletes. PASTA PARTY On 9th December, the day before the marathon, the participants registered in the Zurich Malaga Marathon, the Breakfast Run and the Kids Race can enjoy a dish of pasta and drink free of charge. The Pasta Party will take place in the Jose Mª Martín Carpena Sports Centre (Palacio de Deportes Jose Mª Martín Carpena, Calle Miguel de Merida Nicolich, 2, 29004 Málaga) from 1pm to 3pm. In order to provide a better service, runners shall be distributed into different turns with each one lasting an hour. The runners' companions who want to enjoy this party can have the dish of pasta and a drink for 5. 21. VOLUNTEERS There are various groups collaborating in the volunteer area for the 2017 Zurich Malaga Marathon. In total, there will be more than 600 volunteers contributing to the smooth running of the event, and will be at the service of the runners. Don't forget to thank them for doing a fantastic job. FOLLOW THE MARATHON BY BICYCLE To avoid annoying the runners, and to comply with the regulations, which prohibit any kind of motorised or non-motorised unauthorised vehicle to access the race, citizens may follow their family and friends by bicycle.
