COLUMBINE LAKE COUNTRY CLUB COMMUNITY INFORMATION FOR CLCC PO BOX 714 GRAND LAKE, CO 80447 2017 July - September Office: 970.627.8120 Clubhouse: 970.557-3291 office@columbinelake.com Time to clean up Columbine & Your Property! Every year Columbine Lake Country Club sets aside the last weekend in July for you to get rid of those unsightly items in and around your homes. It s called Slash & Trash weekend, so plan now! Saturday & Sunday, July 29th & 30th. Beginning at 8:00am each morning we will have large dumpsters in the parking lot next to the clubhouse for you to dump your extra belongings. There will also be one dumpster available for just metal items. So whether it s furniture, blankets, or extra trash, this is the time to clean it up! Slash (tree branches) & lumber will be accepted at the maintenance shop area ONLY. You will not be able to dump these materials at the clubhouse area. Please be advised that there ARE items that we will NOT take. And there are some items that we will take, but YOU WILL HAVE TO PAY for us to take them... These include: TVs - any size ($30 each) Mattresses - $20 - per mattress Refrigerators - $100 each (due to Freon) Please make checks payable to: CLCC, Or bring exact change if paying cash. We are sorry we have to charge for these items, but the cost for Columbine to remove them has gone way up & we have to offset these costs. (Please see inside for more information on this weekend).

... to everyone that came to our 2nd Quarter Happy Hour! Following our Annual Meeting, folks took time to visit with Board members and neighbors, even meet some new friends! Thank you for expressing an interest in your HOA and wanting to keep up on all that s happening around Columbine. Next Happy Hour will be September 3rd! No matter WHAT language... We ask everyone to PLEASE OBEY THE SIGNS! STOP STOP Columbine Lake is definitely experiencing higher volumes of people in our neighborhood, so we ask that you just take an extra moment to watch out for our children, dogs, horses, and of course, our wildlife!

Effective immediately (July 1, 2017), the Board of Directors has implemented new requirements related to short term rentals (STR) within Columbine Lake. These requirements follow the new Grand County regulations in effect as of June 1, 2017. These new county requirements and fines can be found at: www.co.grand.co.us Select: Doing Business, Building & Developing-in the County, Short Term Rentals, Short Term Rental Overview for more information. This STR Rules & Responsibilities sheet will be available in the CLCC office in a laminated form for your convenience very soon. CLCC requires this information to be posted in a clearly visible place within the rental unit. Please contact Nancy at the CLCC office for a copy of this posting. A letter will be forthcoming to all homeowners related to these new county and CLCC regulations. Monday - Thursday Noon - 8:00pm Sunday Noon - 6:00pm Friday & Saturday Noon - 9:00pm ADULT Swim: Monday, Wednesday & Friday 9:00am-Noon Sunday s: 10am-Noon The Clubhouse is open EVERY DAY at 12:00 Noon!

All invoices for the 2017-2018 annual HOA assessments have gone out. At least one half (1/2) of your total HOA fee is due no later than July 31st or you will be subject to a $50 late fee. (Of course, we will gladly accept full payment!) If you pay 1/2 by July 31st, then the remainder of your assessment will be due no later than November 30th. And again, if you are not paid in full by this date, you will incur a $50 late fee. As our warmer months are upon us, it is very possible that we will have conditions that are too dry to allow fires of any kind. So we would like to remind everyone to please check our website often for fire restrictions. (www.columbinelake.com) We typically follow what the town of Grand Lake may post, but we have the right to not allow fires within Columbine should we feel conditions are unsafe, even if using an approved fire pit. There will also be signs at both entrances to Columbine that will designate if we DO have a fire ban. Please make yourself aware of daily conditions & let s keep our Columbine homes safe from fire! Please advise all RENTERS as well! Don t play with matches! Don t forget to use the Doggie Poop Stations! There are several dog poop stations located around Columbine Lake for your convenience while walking your dogs. Please continue the great job you have all been doing picking up after your pets! Summer is a very busy time, so we ask that you be extra attentive in cleaning up after your buddies!

So, what IS an Outstanding Waters Designation? Waters eligible for Outstanding Waters designation include waters that are part of a national or state park, wildlife refuge or wilderness areas, special trout waters, waters with exceptional recreational or ecological significance, and high-quality waters that have not been significantly modified by human activities. This designation is granted by the state of Colorado through the Colorado Water Quality Control Commission. Did you know that Grand Lake is Colorado's largest, deepest natural lake? We believe that Grand Lake deserves to be granted an Outstanding Waters Designation by the Colorado Water Quality Control Commission. This designation would prevent any degradation to the lake and protect water quality, so that many generations can continue to fish, boat, swim and enjoy Grand Lake for generations to come. In an effort to bring this designation to fruition, we invite you to go to this website: http://outstandinggrandlake.org and read about the full initiative by Grand Lake. We would also like to encourage you to sign the letter which supports this initiative! Help keep Grand Lake outstanding!

TIPS: No More NOXIOUS WEEDS In Columbine! It s best to pull weeds before they bloom (& bag em so they don t spread) Plant wildflower or native grass seeds to replace the noxious weeds Maintain healthy native plants to prevent establishment of unwanted weeds (police the areas in front & back of your own homes) Become a weed warrior! Contact Neal Cross at nealcross5@gmail.com Animals will not eat these They will quit coming around Canadian Thistle Scentless Chamomile We want the wildlife! Oxeye Daisy Bring an approved sprayer no larger than 4 gallons to the Grand County Department of Natural Resources beginning Friday, May 26th at 9:am-12noon located at 469 E. Topaz in Granby. (Friday s only until they run out) Definition: A noxious weed is any plant designated by a Federal, state, or county government as injurious to public health, agriculture, recreation, wildlife or property. It grows out of place and is competitive, persistent, and pernicious.

Does CLCC have a PIKE problem? You d better believe it! Although Columbine Lake encourages Catch & Release, there is one fish that we definitely encourage our avid fishing enthusiasts to REMOVE from our lake, and that is the Northern Pike. Our lake is stocked with rainbow trout only, but somewhere along the way, pike were released into our lake. Pike have long, slender bodies that are olive green in color and fade to a yellowish-white belly & have very sharp teeth! They can be devastating to our rainbow population. They are a species of carnivorous fish with a voracious appetite, so please, if you have an opportunity to pull out a pike, please do so! Even if you don t plan to eat it, remove it from the lake! As a reminder for all homeowners, Columbine allows you to keep 3 fish per person, per day. You must have your fishing pass and we ask that you wear it so it can be seen. Don t be surprised if you are asked to show it. We are just trying to get everyone used to wearing their passes. Thank you in advance! A huge round of thanks to all Election Volunteers! They put in a lot of time over a holiday weekend (Memorial Day) to help out with your Board of Directors election and the 2017-2018 Budget vote. You are very much appreciated!
