LJFC Weekly Report This was a week where we all received a reminder on the importance of football clubs and the significant role they play in providing a supportive environment for our children to develop and mature. We had a week of mixed results with some fantastic wins as well as some losses that we can learn from. The little guys ran around on the Gateway first up and played honourable games against much bigger and quicker opposition as they continue to develop their skills. The U10 s played really well playing over the top in their game while the U11 s learnt what it takes to play in the top level. The U12 and 13 s had convincing 74 and 123 point wins and the U14 s fell just short by 17 pts against a team they beat in a practice match only weeks ago. The U15 s had a massive 98 point positive result, the U17C s started well but couldn t maintain the momentum and the U17P s won a hard fought game by 26 pts. Our netballers had another week of grading as they gear up for the real stuff. Remember we have our ANZAC round this week where the coaches will be awarding the ANZAC day medals for those who show true sportsmanship and fair play during the games. They will be awarded at our awards night at the senior clubrooms at 5:30pm with all players again eating for free. We would also like to see you all wearing your Blue and Yellow on Monday morning at 5am at the senior rooms so we can march as one to the Dawn service to support our local community. Congratulations to Josh Gray U17C and Marc Massarotti U14C who were randomly chosen to represent us all and lay a wreath at the memorial during the service; well done boys. Good luck next week guys and girls and GO DALES.

We were faced with a very strong opposition in our first game, and even though Chenile, Bek and Gabby gave it a good go in defence, their goalers were very accurate from a long range. The second game was a much more even competition, with Park Orchards leading us by between 4 to 6 goals for most of the match. Hayley and Sam were goaling well and moving beautifully around the circle, with Kayla and Kate placing some lovely passes into them. Alicia's return from her injury was amazing, with numerous deflections and intercepts shutting down their mid court. Towards the end of the match we were spurred on by some lovely intercepts and great passing down the court, but unfortunately we had left our come back a little too late, being 1 goal down at the final siren. Bek was awarded the Amart voucher for her great defence during both matches and Kayla received the chocolate award for both great defensive work and also accurate and quick passing into the goalers.
