To be considered for a 2018 NSLL manager position, please submit the following completed forms and documentation that make up the application. These are required for all applicants regardless of the level of play (Tee-Ball through Majors) and regardless of previous manager or coach positions held within NSLL. A photocopy of your driver s license is required to complete the background check per Little League policy. NSLL s success is based in large measure on the strength of its managers. The heart of Little League is what happens between the manager and each player. You will be a teacher and role model. You will need to be sensitive to the mental and physical limitations of children of Little League age. The game is a vehicle of learning and enjoyment for every player entrusted to your care, and is not an end in itself. To accomplish this, you must: Share our goal of maintaining a positive environment for your players and parents. Make sure your coaches do the same. Attend mandatory training sessions (failure to attend training may result in your disqualification to manage a team in future years). Majors and AAA manager applicants will be vetted by a Managers Committee, which will conduct a brief interview and contact your references. You will need to make yourself available. Novato South Little League MANAGERS /COACHES CODE OF CONDUCT 1. I will enthusiastically support and practice the Good Sportsmanship and Positive Coaching philosophies of Novato South Little League. 2. I will be reasonable in my demands on a young player s time, energy, enthusiasm and performance on the field. 3. I will ensure that my players baseball experience is one of fun and enjoyment (winning is only part of it). 4. I will remember that children participate to have fun, and that the game is for youths, not adults. 5. I will attend league meetings and participate in league functions, i.e. Opening Day Parade, field work days, picture day, clinics, and manager/coach meetings. 6. I will attend all league or district required coaching and safety clinics in order to learn more about the game of baseball, and how to correctly teach young players the proper way to play the game. 7. I will learn and abide by the league rules, baseball rules, policies, and regulations both on the national and local levels. 8. Child abuse is present in youth sports. It may take the form of abusive sexual, physical or verbal behavior, and it may also be evident by the neglect of a child s needs. Any form of child abuse is unacceptable. Managers and coaches are not allowed to contact any eligible player prior to the Minor or Major League Draft nor have any influence on the draft process. Violations will result in removal from your position as manager/coach.
