This is a solo competition. Competitions may be split by age. All musicians should be prepared to play one Irish traditional tune once through. All singers should be prepared to sing one traditional Irish song. Traditional Irish Baking: We will be offering several categories this year for traditional Irish baking. What a great opportunity to share your culinary skills! All entries must be received by Noon on Saturday, January 27, 2018. Entry Categories include: Traditional Savory Breads (soda, brown, yeast) Traditional Sweet Breads (soda with raisins, scones) Other traditional sweets (non bread, cake, specialties) Must include a list of ingredients and any condiments. Entries will be judged on authenticity, visual appeal, taste /texture. Awards should be posted around 2:00PM (subject to change)
DANCING COMPETITION RULES 1. All rules of the North American Feis Commission (www.northamericanfeiscommission.org) are included by reference. 2. Competitors must be in the hall, prepared to dance, one hour prior to the scheduled beginning of their event. 3. Dancers who appear in competitions in which they are not entered and paid will not be eligible for placement or awards. 4. First Feis competitions are open only to dancers who have never competed at a feis. 5. When awards are announced, competitors must be in costume, including dance shoes, to receive their awards. 6. The Wick School of Irish Dance, Colorado Celtic Dance Association and Douglas County Event Center will not be held responsible or liable for personal injury, property loss and/or damage. By entering this Feis, the entrant and/or the entrant s parent or legal guardian agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the CCDA, Colorado WinterFeis, The Feis Committee, Feis Volunteers, Vendors, Douglas County Event Center and the Wick School of Irish Dance for any liabilities or personal injury as a result of the entrant s participation.
