COLLEYVILLE COVENANT AQUATICS John 13:34 & 35 The Cougar Current They did it again! Volume 4, Issue 2; Feb 17, 15 CCA Varsity Girls Swimmers Claim Another State Title On Friday, February 13, Covenant s Lady Cougar swimmers sped their way to the school s second state swimming championship and the school s first state title in its new competitive division. Our girls set the tone for the meet in the first event as they dropped almost 11 seconds from their time at regionals to swim 1:59.35 to finish second in the event behind Katy St John 23, setting a new school record in the process. While last year s win at the TAPPS Division III State Championship seemed like a party from the outset, this year s competition was intense throughout the meet. Despite winning five of eight individual events, the lead changed hands three times between CCA and Katy St. John 23 and the outcome of the meet was determined by the final event. The table to the right summarizes scores and the table below summarizes our girls performances through the meet.
