Hopefully, that will mean we can camp in Texas without suffering from heat exhaustion. Since our last newsletter, the Grand National Rally in Forest City has happened-and Texas was a shining star. Our events started with a float in Forest City s Pucker Brush Parade. It was a big hit and remembered by parade spectators. Remembered also by the 4 walkers who chose to walk rather than ride. It was a big hit with all the kids on the parade route who got to enjoy some Texas Treats. GNR essentially started on Tuesday. Many seminars over the next 4 days. Texas again competed in the Head of Row decoration contest and won!! I am told it s the 6 th time in a row. Great job!! And lots of fun. Thanks go out to Debbie Sak who volunteered to lead the group in our float and Head of Row competition. Great Job! And thanks to all our Texas Folks who brought their great ideas and work ethic to a successful GNR. Another prize winner from Texas Best State Club Newsletter for our editor Mary Lynn Mahoney. Congratulations Mary Lynn! Texas W s next event is our annual Rally in Mineola. A great annual meeting has been assembled this year. A tour of a robotic Dairy Farm and a visit to a Winery headline the tours for the Rally. A pumpkin carving contest, please bring your personal carving knives for that. A Halloween Costume contest will headline our Boo to You Rally. Some great food catered by the Mineola Civic Center highlight our dining. Go online to the Texas W website for details and download the Registration Form to join us in October in Mineola. Don t forget Texas W dues are also payable in October! See you there, Mike Anderson

TIME FOR OUR OFFICER SELECTION 4 Hello fellow Texas W Club members. For those that don t remember me I m Gary Rigsby, the immediate past president of the club, and now leading the 2018 Nominating Committee. Mary Lyn Mahoney agreed to help me with this nominating process so please communicate any questions or interest too her also. At the October (fall) Texas W Club rally we will be announcing nominations for each club office for 2018, President, VP-1, VP-2, Treasurer, and Secretary. If you have an interest in serving the club for the coming year, at one of these positions, please contact me with your choice and/or any questions you may have about the duties involved. I made an announcement at our April 2017 club meeting, at the Montgomery KOA park, that we would be contacting you for your consideration for these offices, and pointed out that we re not necessarily polling members that have been with the club for many years, but also the newer members. If you check with some of the longer-term members you ll find that most have served either at the chapter level, or at the state level, sometime in their club membership years. My point to this is we re asking every member to consider stepping up, not just senior members. These aren t challenging duties, or duties that take a lot of your time, so you newer members please think this over and contact me as soon as you can so we will have time to prepare for the rally in October. Thanks to All The Hook and Hose WIT club members are looking to find hosts for Winnebago WIT Harvey Hurricane RV evacuees. Some of these could need long term hook ups or just RV parking.
