COMPETITION INFORMATION Organizer: National Paralympic Committee of China Chairman: Jia Yong Date: April 10th-17th, 2014 Venue: China Administration of Sports for Persons with Disabilities Events: Male and Female Track: 100m-200m-400m-800m-1500m-5000m Field: Shot put- discus-javelin-club-long jump-triple jump-high jump Classes: 10-20-30-40-50 The LOC reserves the right to combine classes where the number of participant is less than 4. In the event of such combination, Raza point system shall be used for the field events. Entry Eligibility: To be eligible for entry, athletes must be registered in IPC Sport Database Management System (SDMS) For results to be considered for IPC Athletics rankings and records, athletes must hold an IPC Athletics Athletes License prior to the start of the competition. Entry Deadline: First Entry submitted before: Feb 20 th, 2014. Final Entry submitted before: Mar 15 th, 2014. Payment must be received before: Mar 15 th, 2014. Competition Rules: The track and field events shall be held in accordance with the most up-to-date IPC Athletics Rules and Regulations. Classification: PI, VI and ID classification will be provided from April 11 th to April13 th. An Athlete will only be permitted to undergo Classification if: has been registered and/ or licensed with IPC Athletics in SDMS; and has submitted the final entry by March 15th, 2014 Athletes with a Physical Impairment (PI) For those athletes permitted to undergo classification, NPCs must upload a Medical Diagnostics Form (MDF) to the athletes SDMS profile at least 6 weeks prior to classification. The submission of the completed form is required for all athletes with a Physical Impairment. The form also lists in
which cases further medical reports and documentation need to be attached to the form. Athletes with a Visual Impairment (VI) For those athletes permitted to undergo classification, NPCs must upload a Medical Diagnostics Form (MDF) to the athletes SDMS profile at least 4 weeks prior to classification. Additional medical reports are required as outlined on the form. Athletes with an Intellectual Impairment (II) For athletes with an Intellectual Impairment, athletes must comply with the following eligibility criteria as set by IPC Athletics: Inclusion on the INAS Classification Master List Completion of the Training History and Sport Limitation Questionnaire (TSAL-Q) provided by IPC Athletics. NPCs must upload the completed TSAL-Q form to the athletes SDMS profile at least 4 weeks prior to classification. Failure to upload the medical diagnostics information by the above timelines may lead to the athlete not being scheduled for classification. Doping Control Doping control will be take place at the competition. The samples will be collected by the designated NPC doping control agency in accordance with IPC relevant rules. Diploma and Medals Diploma and medal: Diplomas and medals will be awarded to the top 3 athletes. Competition Fee: The competition fee is 800 US dollars for each participant, which covers the ground transport, accommodation, meals and competition. The competition fee is a flat rate fee and not refundable for neither late arrival nor early departure. If NPCs require a room for single occupancy, an extra 40 US dollars per person per day will be charged. The availability of the single room shall be on a first time first serve basis. For additional stay, 100 US dollars per person per day shall be charged. Visa and Immigration For those delegation members who require entry visa to People s Republic of China, please contact the nearest Chinese Embassy/Consulate in your country for visa information. The LOC will provide invitation letter where required to facilitate the application process. Please be reminded that is important to arrange your entry visa well in advance with required deadlines. LOC INFORMATION Competition and Accommodation Venue: China Administration of Sports for Persons with Disabilities (CASPD) is the world s biggest sports complex built exclusively for Paralympic sports. It is situated in Houshayu Town, Shunyi District in Beijing, 20 kilometers from downtown and 10 kilometers from Beijing Capital International Airport. Founded in 2007 by the Chinese government, CASPD consists of an Athletes Hotel, Indoor and Outdoor Athletics Stadiums, Training Gym, Multi-purpose Training Hall, Swimming Hall, Goalball Hall, Velodrome, Football Field and Archery Range, all designed for Paralympic athletes. It is a sports complex designed to meet the special requirements of athletes with disabilities. Competition Venue: The outdoor athletics facilities comprise a spectator stand with the capacity of 700 and an outdoor athletics field. The athletics field consists of a 400m synthetic track, with eight 400m lanes and ten 100m straight lanes, a standard 68m 105m lawn football field and other athletics facilities.
Training Venue: Indoor Athletics Area: The indoor athletic facility comprises a 200m six lane IAAF track. and has indoor field events areas for high jump, long jump, triple jump shot-put, etc, with changing and shower room and a training gym. It will be used as the warm -up area during the competition. Seated-throwing Field: The Men s and Women s seated-throwing field occupies respectively a 8,316 m2 and 7,014 m2 natural lawn, with all relevant facilities including fixed stands for throwing events and an accessible passageway. It will be used as the seated-throwing training venue.
Accommodation: The LOC provides accommodation and meals for all participants from April 10 th at noon (12:00) to the evening of April 17 th at the apartment buildings of CASPD. The cafeteria and all rooms are fully accessible. Meeting Services: The LOC provides a meeting room that can accommodate 10 persons and a multi-media meeting room with the capacity of 25 persons. Local Transportation: Local transportation between Beijing Capital International Airport and CASPD will be provided by t h e LOC during the official Championships period. The competition venue, training venue and accommodation area are all situated in one complex, which provides more convenience to athletes. Insurance and Medical Services: Each NPC must ensure that all members of their delegation are appropriately insured, including but not limited to coverage for travel, liability, medical/dental treatment and accidents. The LOC will only provide emergency treatment for athletes. Other Services: All participants can voluntarily attend a free city visit tour provided by LOC.
