WELCOME ABOARD As captain of this remarkable clipper, it is my pleasure and privilege to welcome guests aboard the Stad Amsterdam. Stad means city in Dutch and this vessel perfectly captures the spirit of the Dutch capital in terms of its fine heritage and beauty. The clippers of the 1800s were the high-tech marvels of their day and the fastest way to get around the planet. Their giant rigs and sleek hulls moved traders and their goods all over the world. Stad Amsterdam is an accurate replica that takes you back to those fascinating times. There is one key difference between Stad Amsterdam and the original clippers: she has been built to accommodate luxury cruises, effective business events and exciting trips for adventurous folk with a love of the past. Whatever your reason for joining us on Stad Amsterdam, you will be sure to receive a warm reception from myself and our dedicated crew.
STAD AMSTERDAM: JOURNEYS THROUGH TIME
BEAUTY, GRACE AND POWER Stad Amsterdam is a 76-metre clipper carrying 31 sails with a total area of 2,200 square metres. She has an authentic square rig and a pointed clipper bow, and is registered under the Dutch flag as a passenger ship. The interior includes 14 luxury suites, a spacious dining area (which we call The Long Room) that is also ideal for presentations and social gatherings, and a delightful al fresco bar. Stad Amsterdam can be privately booked for business events, luxury cruises and adventurous sailing trips.
BYGONE DAYS The moment you step on the deck of Stad Amsterdam you ll feel like you ve boarded an actual 19th-century clipper ship. The beautiful charthouse, original rigging, excellently maintained teak woodwork and the way in which the sails are hoisted are all exactly as they would have been in bygone days. At the same time Stad Amsterdam offers every kind of 21st-century comfort to her passengers and guests.

THE LONG ROOM As you descend the stylish mahogany staircase from the deck, you will enter the famous Long Room. Endowed with wonderful woodwork and fine copper details, this social hub of the vessel transports you back to an iconic era. The Long Room is the designated spot for our guests to come together and chat, meet the crew, play a game, enjoy a drink or relax over a delicious meal.
It was a real treat to dine in style with good company and fine cuisine.
SLEEP WELL The luxurious cabins blend the atmosphere of a traditional sailing ship with the comforts you d expect from a modern hotel room. In addition to the two/four single bed cabins, there are also two suites available with Queensized double beds. All rooms have their own bathroom with shower, sink and toilet. You will also have a satellite phone connection and air conditioning. Everything is in place to make your stay on board exceptionally comfortable.

The quality of the food served in the Long Room and on deck when the weather is good is exceptional. You will also enjoy our free sundowner bites and a fully stocked bar is available (with tabs settled at the end of your voyage).

WHERE BUSINESS MEETS PLEASURE It doesn t take long for a relaxed mood to prevail when business people come on board Stad Amsterdam. The clipper offers the ideal setting for a day of sailing, company cruises and corporate events such as meetings and presentations. The open ambience on board will give you a new élan, stimulating creativity and enabling more effective business and networking. Expect a return on your investment that lasts long after the trip is over. By the way, Stad Amsterdam is also available for exclusive private charters should you wish to embark on the ultimate extended family cruise or an awesome adventure with friends.
THE MAKING OF A MEMORABLE DAY While every day of corporate sailing is customised to your wishes, there are certain themes most have in common. The captain and crew will welcome you with coffee/tea and a short introduction about life on board Stad Amsterdam. There is then time for a workshop/presentation in the Long Room and we can also organise a variety of teambuilding programmes. In the afternoon we hoist the sails for a cruise and the day ends with drinks and a fine dinner, expertly prepared by our chef.
Everyone from our company thoroughly enjoyed our time on Stad Amsterdam it was an excellent teambuilding experience.
ADVENTUROUS SAILING
ON THE MOVE Stad Amsterdam regularly sails the world s seas and oceans on her way to new adventures and events. You can book a cabin on these port-to-port journeys, which range from short trips between cities such as Hamburg and Rotterdam to transatlantic voyages. It s a relaxing way to see the world pass by: we ve even had companies book several cabins for their staff to give them a way to brainstorm in a completely new environment. There is also an option to be more involved in the actual sailing of the ship while on board
LIVE AND LEARN Are you a true sailing fan who would relish having an active role with the crew during a trip on Stad Amsterdam? Or do you have very little maritime know-how but would like to pitch in, experience life at sea and learn how to sail the clipper during your trip?
