GENERAL INFORMATION SOCHI AUTODROM SPECIFICS UNIQUE FEATURES: Sochi Autodrom is the first circuit in Russia to have hosted the Formula 1 Grand Prix and the only Russian Autodrom that operates all year-round. The well-developed infrastructure - in close proximity to the Olympic Park and Sochi Autodrom - includes a wide range of modern hotels of different categories and a convenient transport network, with a nearby airport and a transport hub with train and bus connections. Sochi Autodrom is one of the few Formula 1 venues to have team buildings specially constructed near the pit boxes. These buildings allow teams to operate away from their motorhomes, thereby simplifying logistics considerably. Sochi Autodrom s Race Control building is the first in the world to have a video control system with Real-Time Full HD technology - ensuring high quality images on 56 screens tracking the cars. The system is based on data collected from 48 Speed Dome cameras located on the perimeter of the racing track. Sochi Autodrom s engineers have developed a unique race protocol management system that was successfully tested at the 2014 Russian Grand Prix. The system allows engineers to manage the protocol in an automatic mode with the help of a special program in a real-time mode, which makes it unique in global terms.

SOCHI AUTODROM SPECIFICS INFRASTRUCTURE: Main Characteristics Race Control Team Buildings Pit Buildings Media Centre Medical Centre Length of the circuit 5,848 m Width of the circuit ranges from 13 to 15 m Number of turns 12 right and 6 left (18 in total) Driving direction clockwise The lengthy third turn with a negative camber where Formula 1 cars reach speeds of over 300 km/h Maximum speed reached by Formula 1 cars at the Russian Grand Prix 336 km/h Average speed reached by Formula 1 cars at the Russian Grand Prix 226 km/h 4 floors, 5,800 sq.m, with the headquarters of the motorsport events management, a race director office, Formula One Management (FOM) and International Automobile Federation (FIA) offices (during the Formula 1 Russian Grand Prix), a timing room and engineering communications necessary for organising and controlling how the competition runs. 2 floors, 6,299 sq.m 16 buildings for team members. On the ground floor, there are areas for catering and leisure, and a technical room. The first floor includes office rooms, leisure rooms and a terrace. 4 floors, 34,340 sq.m comprises 33 team boxes (garages) (width of each 6.80 m, length 17.65 m), as well as FIA and FOM boxes and VIP suites with outside stands (F1 Paddock Club). Used for accredited media representatives, includes a press workroom (336 seats), a photographers area (104 seats), a press conference room (80 seats), a unilateral studio, and a telecommunications centre. 1 floor, 497 sq.m located in the circuits perimeter, has a fully equipped reanimation room, two smaller surgery rooms, an X-ray room with digital X-ray, a burn treating shower and a treatment room.

SOCHI AUTODROM SPECIFICS OPERATIONS: Motorsport Competition Since the opening of Sochi Autodrom in September 2014, the venue has hosted many events. Apart from the Formula 1 Grand Prix, a number of significant sporting events have been held here including the TCR International Series, the F4 NEZ Championship, the Russian Circuit Racing Series, the Max Power Cars and the Porsche Club Cup motorsport competitions, the Russian Triathlon Cup Final, the Mazda Sport Cup 2014 Final, the Sochi Half Marathon, the Russian Formula Masters (Formula 3 class) and the International race of the Mitjet 2L series Educational Projects Sochi Autodrom recruited over 1,000 volunteers from 19 countries of the world and different regions of Russia to host the Grand Prix and thus made a considerable contribution to the volunteers movement development. Within the framework of cooperation with the Russian International Olympic University, its students, who are enrolled in the sports management programme, followed a traineeship at Sochi Autodrom. Professors of the University of Bolton and the Moscow State Automobile & Road Technical University (MADI) visited Sochi Autodrom to discuss possibilities of interaction with the Russian Grand Prix promoter in the field of staff training for motorsport competitions organisation. Commercial Services The Autodrom s circuit allows it to host open track days, where motorsport fans get the opportunity to test the Formula 1 track for themselves. The Sochi Autodrom s team of professional drivers offers every visitor taxi rides around the circuit. As part of regular venue tours, everyone also has a chance to visit the Race Control building; the team boxes and buildings, the Paddock Club and the VIP lounge. Sochi Autodrom is also actively used as a site for corporate events. Companies are offered spacious rooms to hold press conferences, new product presentations and business meetings of all levels. Sochi Autodrom is ready to offer interesting sponsorship packages and an attractive advertising space to potential partners.

2016 FIA FORMULA ONE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP NEW RULES IN 2016 Exhaust Layout -Teams must now use separate exhaust pipes for the wastegate and turbine instead of the single exhaust used in 2015, which is to improve engine noise. The rules also allow the use of a twin pipe for the wastegate although any exit must not be in excess of 100mm from the main pipe. Power Unit Allowance -As the number of championship rounds has increased from 19 to 21, each driver is allowed to use up to five power units over the course of the season. As a result, grid penalties will only be activated when each driver uses a sixth of any one of the six disparate power unit elements. Power Unit Development - Manufacturers will be allowed 32 power unit tokens for use in-season development, which can be used at their discretion. Where previously no manufacturer could supply more than one specification of power unit, engines homologated in previous seasons, may again be re-homologated for use in the 2016 season. Cockpit Safety - Head protection structures either side of the cockpit have been increased by 20mm and are now able to resist a compression load of 50N per 30 seconds. Tyres - Pirelli are now making three of their five dry-weather tyre compounds, which includes the new purple-market ultra-soft, available for use at each event. This is to encourage variation between race strategies. The company will allocate two sets of tyres for each race, of which only one set must be used. One set will also be allocated, the softest of the three compounds for Q3 only. Each driver will then choose 10 further sets of tyres from the three compounds, which would take their weekend allocation to 13. Virtual Safety Car VSC. The VSC may now be used in practice as well as races in order to reduce stoppage times, while the DRS will be re-enabled immediately after a VSC period. Accident Analysis - In order to gather information and analyse accidents each car will be fitted with a high-speed camera and drivers must wear in-ear accelerometers at each event and any tests that are attended by more than one team. Testing - The number of pre-season tests has been cut from three to two, which means that teams may participate in eight days of track running rather than the twelve days in the previous season.

SOCHI TRAVEL INFORMATION SOCHI AT A GLANCE Sochi is one of the southernmost regions in Russia and the second-largest city in the Krasnodar region. Located along the Black Sea coast, it is approximately 1,600km (995 mi) south of Moscow. The city has a permanent population of 401,291 (2016) and Greater Sochi (includes four administrative districts: Central Sochi District, Lazarevskoye District, Khosta District, and Adler District) has 480,215 residents, making it Russia's largest resort city. Sochi is often unofficially called the Summer Capital of Russia, or the Black Sea Pearl. Sochi is the biggest and busiest summer sea resort in Russia, attracting more than four million visitors annually with its amazing mountainous coastline, endless shingle beaches, warm sunny days, and bustling nightlife. From May to September Sochi's population at least doubles with tourists, including celebrities, and the political elite of the country visiting the region Sochi belongs to a tiny part of Russia, which is located in the subtropical climatic zone. Sochi enjoys around 300 sunny days a year, which is unbelievable for Russia and only exceeded by the adjacent Krasnodar region coastal cities. This makes Sochi an ideal place to visit all year-round. Greater Sochi occupies 145km along the Black Sea coastline. Its total area is 3,500km² (2,175 sq. mi) - three times larger than Moscow. However, most of the population is spread along the narrow coastline stripe, while the mountain area (1,900km²/1,180mi²) mostly belongs to Sochi National Park and partly to the Caucasian Biosphere Reserve. The city alignment is from north-west to south-east, from the neighboring city of Tuapse right to the Russian border with Abkhazia.
